ULTIMATE DANCE V RESULTS Whilst the final voting is open here is the results thread for the songs that missed the final, which will turn into a final results thread once voting has closed (in 2 weeks). So let's run down your favourite dance songs of all time Here's a reminder of the previous winners and runners-up, and unlike Record of the Decade we have had a new winner each year. Could we keep that up this year? 2013: 1. N-Trance feat. Kelly Llorenna - Set You Free / 2. DJ Jurgen presents Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone / 3. DJ Sammy & Yanou feat. Do - Heaven 2014: 1. Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love / 2. DJ Jurgen presents Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone / 3. Roger Sanchez - Another Chance 2015: 1. DJ Sammy & Yanou feat. Do - Heaven / 2. Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris - We Found Love / 3. Darude - Sandstorm 2016: 1. Faithless - Insomnia / 2. Darude - Sandstorm / 3. Underworld - Born Slippy NUXX |

205. Livin' Joy - Don't Stop Movin'
1996 | 54 points | [205] | 53rd in semi 2 Released as the follow-up to #1 hit and Ultimate Dance finalist 'Dreamer', this does well to make the Chart for the first time but has to settle for last place. 204. Bob Sinclar (feat Gary Pine) - Love Generation 2005 | 55 points | [138-x-204] | 49th in semi 3 The song that revitalised Bob Sinclar's chart career (and indeed the first song of his I was aware of, being too young to have heard of 'I Feel For You'), and also his only song to have ever made it to Ultimate Dance - it returns this year but finished last in its semi. 203. Basement Jaxx - Red Alert 1999 | 56 points | [84-x-228-203] | 52nd in semi 2 The first of two Basement Jaxx songs, this historically performed better but is outdone by 'Where's Your Head At' this year. 202. DB Boulevard - Point Of View 2002 | 56 points | [202] | 51st in semi 2 A new arrival for this 2002 hit, a lovely song though I'm surprised it's even remembered enough to have made the semis. 201. Oliver Heldens (feat KStewart) - Last All Night (Koala) 2014 | 58 points | [127-237-201] | 50th in semi 2 My personal fave of this section, shame it continues to underperform here but it seems forever destined to live in the shadow of (the admittedly superior song) 'Gecko', which you can vote for in the final. It at least registers a climb this year though due to the shorter number of semi-finalists - there were 260 last time. |

It's a shame to see Last All Night (Koala) fall just short of the top 200, that is also my favourite of the section!

200. Utah Saints - Something Good '08
2008 | 67 points | [56-x-x-36-200] | 48th in semi 3 Falling straight out of last contest's top 40 are Utah Saints. As good as this song is, it's definitely not one of the best 40 dance songs ever anyhow so I can't complain. 199. David Guetta (feat Kelly Rowland) - When Love Takes Over 2009 | 68 points | [16-13-14-85-199] | 49th in semi 2 This doing so poorly is rather surprising considering it was once a mainstay of the top 20, but time hasn't been too kind to this clearly and I must say I'm glad it's far from its peak now, it was never my fave of David's. 198. Rednex - Cotton Eye Joe 1994 | 68 points | [198] | 50th in semi 4 Erm okay at this scraping it in (and for the first time). Can't take this song seriously at all and it's definitely one of the poorer songs here. 197. Martin Solveig & Dragonette - Hello 2011 | 69 points | [58-60-111-197] | 53rd in semi 1 Shame to see this one take a bit of a tumble over the years but at least we now have 'All Day And Night' in the final to compensate. 196. Major Lazer (feat DJ Snake & MØ) - Lean On 2015 | 69 points | [135-96-196] | 52nd in semi 1 Surprised this is so low, I thought this was a lot more loved on Buzzjack but maybe more so with pop fans. Still sounds great every now and then. |

Some brill songs at the lower end there, particularly Don't Stop Movin', Red Alert, Love Generation, Red Alert and Hello!

195. The KLF - Last Train To Trancentral
1991 | 70 points | [149-x-x-195] | 49th in semi 4 Returning after five years and faring better this time despite its lower position (having finished 3rd-from last in 2014 with 7 points) are the KLF, not helped by their complete non-presence on digital platforms though I'm not massively keen on this track anyway. 194. 99 Souls (feat Destiny's Child & Brandy) - The Girl Is Mine 2015 | 70 points | [211-194] | 51st in semi 1 Slightly improving on their position last time around are 99 Souls who amazingly still are yet to officially follow this track up though they do occasionally release a remix. This track remains amazing though and deserves more love. 193. Inna - Hot 2010 | 70 points | [96-x-109-131-193] | 48th in semi 4 One of the biggest hits from the early 10s Eurodance era, initially outdone by 'Amazing' in 2013 (#74) somehow but it's this one that keeps coming back. A nice tune but this feels like a fair position for it. 192. Alex Gaudino (feat Crystal Waters) - Destination Calabria 2007 | 71 points | [202-192] | 47th in semi 3 This saxy anthem winds up in a similar position to last time, easily the best thing either artist has put out too. 191. The Chainsmokers (feat ROZES) - Roses 2016 | 71 points | [192-191] | 50th in semi 1 Even more amazing consistency here from The Chainsmokers who manage to climb one whole position over 3 years. It's their only track here surprisingly but it is my favourite of theirs so good to see it here. |

Oh I'm impressed at every song getting at least 54 points! I would put 'Don't Stop Movin' higher but only slightly; 'Dreamer' is obviously much better (unless you're the Australian charts lol). I do prefer 'World Hold On' and 'Rock This Party' to 'Love Generation' nowadays. Definitely surprised too at 'When Love Takes Over' falling so low, but it's not really one of my favourites either (though I'd happily take it over 'Titanium'). lol well done 'Cotton Eye Joe' getting top 200 even if it came last in its semi :') 'The Girl Is Mine' is one of like 3 songs in the semi-finals I've never liked so I'm glad it's low (apols to 99 Souls if they ever venture onto Buzzjack again). I'm glad to see 'Roses' appreciated in here, it's aged so well and is my 2nd favourite of theirs after 'Don't Let Me Down'.

Interesting to see tracks that were once very popular already dropping out so low particularly 'When Love Takes Over' and 'Love Generation' which I would of expected to be miles higher than they are.

I was going to vote in the semis, but forgot sadly.
I, for one, certainly think 'Koala' is better than 'Gecko'. I never really liked 'Gecko' much. 'Don't Let Me Down' I prefer to 'Roses' for the Chainsmokers. Yes there was a brief but rather good Eurodance (or rather euro-house) era in the early 10s, mostly originating from Romania. I would have given Inna - Hot a few points had I voted. |

Don't forget to vote in the final then! It's open now!
190. Rozalla - Everybody's Free 1991 | 73 points | [190] | 49th in semi 1 Rozalla's free to feel good about finally making it to the semi-finals of Ultimate Dance, though finishes rather lowly for being one of the most recognisable dance tracks of the early 90s. 189. Wamdue Project - King Of My Castle 1999 | 75 points | [52-189] | 48th in semi 1 After finishing oddly highly last time around this falls towards the bottom end, which feels more right for it as there are numerous better 90s dance tracks though I do enjoy this. 188. Calvin Harris & Rihanna - This Is What You Came For 2016 | 76 points | [158-188] | 48th in semi 2 My fave of this section by some way, this seems to be forever underrated here as even with Rihanna's vocal it is yet to break the top half of the countdown. It's a great year for Calvin though as he has four songs to vote for in the final, including other Rihanna collab 'We Found Love'. 187. Adamski (feat Seal) - Killer 1990 | 79 points | [77-x-x-187] | 47th in semi 2 Back to the early 90s again with this big #1, one of the better songs of its era which returns after five years. 186. Duke Dumont - Won't Look Back 2014 | 80 points | [186] | 47th in semi 1 Surprised to see this had made it through, he outdid this quite a few times for me but still sounds great. |

I'm shocked this is the first year Rozalla has been featured in this. Never really been a big fan of 'King Of My Castle' I've always thought it was strange a female talking about being the King of the castle surely it should be queen of the castle? I do really like that Duke Dumont track, but he has outdone it and as for TIWYCF I've always thought it was pretty weak and a big disappointment from the 'Motion' album . As much as it gets slated on here, I've always preferred 'My Way' from his 2016 singles era.

185. Alan Walker (feat Au/Ra & Tomine Harket) - Darkside
2018 | 81 points | [185] | 47th in semi 4 A surprising inclusion given both its recency and lack of UK chart impact, but it's great to see this get some appreciation here as one of Alan Walker's best tracks. He still has a finalist in 'Faded' too. 184. Freemasons (feat Bailey Tzuke) - Uninvited 2007 | 81 points | [74-69-184] | 46th in semi 2 The sole entry for Freemasons who have now been departed from the UK chart for a decade, it takes a bit of a tumble this year anyhow. 183. The Supermen Lovers (feat Mani Hoffman) - Starlight 2001 | 82 points | [86-x-76-183] | 46th in semi 3 This also leaves the final this year, it's a great example of its genre but I had no room for it in my votes and I suspect many feel the same. 182. Calvin Harris - Feel So Close 2011 | 79 points | [56-104-162-182] | 46th in semi 4 We meet Calvin again, and he has five appearances here outside of the final. It's the first to feature his own vocals, out of two with 'I'm Not Alone' in the final. It's a great track which I'd probably put in my top 10 of his or just outside. 181. September - Cry For You 2008 | 80 points | [76-x-x-73-181] | 45th in semi 4 September also falls out of the final, there's a lot of changeover in the final this year. As one of the more europop leaning tracks I've allowed in the contest I'm glad it's not doing too well here anyway. |

Delighted to see Darkside up there!
Destination Calabria and Won't Look Back are also great, I'd actually say the latter is probably my favourite Duke Dumont song! Roses being the highest Chainsmokers song is questionable, I was never really into that one, and agree with others in the thread that Don't Let Me Down should have been there instead. |

'Don't Let Me Down' out-finished it last time (#152) but only got six nominations out of the nine it needed in its group.

180. Spiller (feat Sophie Ellis Bextor) - Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)
2000 | 85 points | [08-19-x-64-180] | 46th in semi 1 The once-top ten hit takes a big tumble this year. As one of the best dance tracks of the early 00s it really deserves a bit more than this position. 179. Sunset Strippers - Falling Stars 2005 | 88 points | [203-179] | 45th in semi 1 Repping it for the looped house covers is another faceless 1HW act with the better reworking of 'Star To Fall', which makes the top 200 after just missing out last time. 178. Faithless - God Is A DJ 1998 | 89 points | [178] | 44th in semi 4 Whilst 'Insomnia' has won and been top 20 in every edition it is the first time any one of their others has made it to the semis. They have two additional tracks and this is certainly a good addition to the Chart, I definitely prefer it to 'We Come 1' however that is still yet to come. 177. Mike Posner - I Took A Pill In Ibiza (SeeB Remix) 2016 | 90 points | [139-177] | 43rd in semi 4 Holding up well 3 years after this was a massive hit, though neither act managed to have any hits since. It now has over a billion Spotify streams too so for one of the biggest tracks of the decade it feels a bit low! 176. Martin Garrix & Dua Lipa - Scared to Be Lonely 2017 | 91 points | [176] | 42nd in semi 4 The first appearance for Martin Garrix, who still has 'Animals' to come in the final. |

175. Snap! - The Power
1990 | 91 points | [175] | 45th in semi 2 The second-biggest hit for Snap! finally makes an appearance in the semi-finals, with 'Rhythm Is A Dancer' still in contention in the final. 174. Sash! (feat Tina Cousins) - Mysterious Times 1998 | 92 points | [174] | 45th in semi 3 Sash! have done well this year with 'Encore Une Fois' as a finalist and three additional songs sitting outside, and this is the first to fall though it does well to place for the first time. Their sole #2 hit to not make it this time is 'Adelante' which was not nominated, though it made the top 100 in 2014. 173. Fatboy Slim - The Rockafeller Skank 1998 | 92 points | [181-201-173] | 44th in semi 3 With a remarkably consistent chart run since it entered in 2014, it is one of two Fatboy Slim tracks here with 'Right Here Right Now' in the final. 172. Galantis - Peanut Butter Jelly 2015 | 94 points | [102-172] | 43rd in semi 3 Galantis continue to do well with 2 of their big hits though 'No Money' drops out having not been nominated. 171. Madison Avenue - Don't Call Me Baby 1999 | 94 points | [88-36-x-80-171] | 42nd in semi 3 Another finalist of last contest tumbling, though it did finish last in the final so it's not much of a surprise. |

170. Conershop - Brimful Of Asha (Norman Cook Remix)
1998 | 96 points | [206-232-170] | 44th in semi 1 Just outdoing 'Right Here Right Now' is Norman Cook under his own name who gave Cornershop their one proper hit. 169. Avicii (feat Salem Al Fakir) - Silhouettes 2012 | 96 points | [81-78-175-169] | 43rd in semi 1 Avicii's done well this year with three finalists and three additional semi-finalists. This is the first to drop out which still feels underrated though it had the tough job of following up the massive 'Levels'. 168. Fedde Le Grand - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit 2006 | 96 points | [88-79-165-168] | 44th in semi 2 Fedde Le Grand with his breakthrough hit continues to make the semis and finishes in a similar position to last time. 167. Melanie C - I Turn To You (Hex Hector Remix) 2000 | 96 points | [167] | 43rd in semi 2 A new arrival for the Spice Girl, who got a trance remix back when the genre was at its most commercial. 166. System F - Out Of The Blue 1999 | 97 points | [166] | 42nd in semi 2 Another trance track, and a better one too. This getting enough votes to get in the semis was a great surprise so it completely avoiding the bottom section is a bonus. |

165. Calvin Harris (feat Kelis) - Bounce
2011 | 97 points | [93-x-137-229-165] | 41st in semi 3 One of Calvin's best tracks bounces back into the top 200 this year, great to see, though it's still far from its peak. 164. Kiesza - Hideaway 2014 | 97 points | [39-18-118-164] | 42nd in semi 1 Having long lost its recency boost Kiesza sadly leaves the top 150 this year after a huge fall in 2016. 163. Phats & Small - Turn Around 1999 | 98 points | [76-153-169-163] | 41st in semi 1 Phats & Small continue to remain in this area of the chart with the hit they're best known for, which is the only song not from the 2010s in this section and also my least fave of the section. 162. Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa - One Kiss 2018 | 99 points | [162] | 40th in semi 1 I was expecting a lot better for this especially as it's firmly in the top 100 in Record of the Decade but sadly even with the recency factor it falls well short of the final. Maybe it'll do a bit better once it ages. 161. Duke Dumont - Ocean Drive 2015 | 100 points | [161] | 39th in semi 1 It's a good year for Duke Dumont here as this topped the poll of 'casualties of streaming' (having missed the top 40 in the early days of the Spotify era) and also enters this chart for the first time. |

160. Technotronic (feat Felly) - Pump Up the Jam
1989 | 100 points | [92-x-212-160] | 38th in semi 1 One of the oldest tracks in the chart but clearly still very much liked here. 159. CamelPhat & Elderbrook - Cola 2017 | 100 points | [159] | 37th in semi 1 A new arrival for CamelPhat who I suspect will be a mainstay of this chart in the future with both this and this year's finalist 'Panic Room'. 158. Nightcrawlers - Push The Feeling On (MK Remix) 1994 | 100 points | [49-116-91-158] | 41st in semi 4 One of my fave 90s dance tracks, which sadly seems to be yo-yoing back out of the top 100 this year. 157. Bodyrox (feat Luciana) - Yeah Yeah (D. Ramirez Edit) 2006 | 101 points | [49-106-x-204-157] | 41st in semi 2 A highlight of the electro trend of the mid 00s, good to see this back in the top 200. 156. Yolanda Be Cool & D Cup - We No Speak Americano 2010 | 102 points | [120-95-156] | 40th in semi 4 My personal fave of 2010, glad to see it's still not been completely forgotten on here though it unfortunately falls from the top 100. |
