I predicted 100-150k so I'm not too surprised. Still looking at fantastic sales. I think this will be a longer-term seller as opposed to a 1-week wonder. He's not doing an Emeli Sandé but I do think he needs something upbeat out there.

i think he will do lots of super promo, so will do well from now til xmas, but cannot see the album selling well in 2018 cos I've checked the album and don't see any big big hits in there, the new single is really a poor choice, think it will do nothing chart-wise, I actually would have picked Pray as 2nd single instead, that sounds more xmassy and nicer

I knew it, And he will do much bigger numbers in the US, another case of a UK artist who became bigger there than home. Not a great numbers for him but he'll be OK I'm sure. it's slated to do 205k tops in the US based on the first predictions. I mean, more than in the UK but hardly lighting the charts alight..... proportionally it will be considerably less than his British sales. |

he has a tour bundle in the US, so probably half of those 200K are proper sales

It's true, I said it before they announced the numbers there. Those 205k is even with tour bundles, not a great start for him also there. |

He'll do better than that. The single has done much better than hers did. Emeli only did poor because Olly had X Factor to back him in the race for #1. LLTA would’ve got #1 if Olly didn’t release at the same time but I do find it embarrassing that she got beat to #1 by him |

Emeli wasn't just beaten to number 1 by olly Murs, overall he sold more and his album has still sold much more. I like emeli but didn't enjoy anything she released off the album.

Plus Emeli had a much larger break between her first album to her second and she didn’t have a TV special to back her up too. I much preferred her second album to her first as well. If Sam is going to underperform then I think it’ll be more of a Leona Lewis Echo or Gaga Born This Way second album performance where it still ends up being a big success in the long run
Just on a lesser scale to the debut. |

Fair to say that 'Havana' will easily be no1 this week
then, could it potentially do a Clean Bandit and stay there till Chris Christmas? Would be incredible. |

There is no way it'll be that long a runner, especially now in the ACR days. Rockabye was shifting much bigger numbers at this stage iirc & I can't see all the big competitors flop like last year.

I think Havana could be #1 for a few more weeks and then replaced by Wham's Last Xmas, isn't it gonna be used in that tv ad, the one that had aurora, tom odell, etc? i'm sure there's also gonna be some sorta campaign to get it to #1

He'll probably be on around 60k in tomorrows mids, which isn't too shoddy! He won't be selling 13k every day this week, however I think he'll clear 90k by the end of the week. I wouldn't say it was a disaster. He'll be a consistent seller through to the new year!

Last Christmas being #1 this year of all years has a real poignancy to it, plus with the inevitable media coverage 1 year on and the recent reissue of Listen Without Prejudice - it has a lot going in its favour. ACR should give an advantage to Christmas songs all-round also. |
