Well, this isn't really news, nor is it that important, but seeing that there is a lack of information about Rachel at the moment, we decided to post this little bit for you.
Emma Bunton, former Spice Girls star who plans to record a third UK album and release it sometime in 2007, has posted a message on her official website stating that she met Rachel Stevens during her tile in LA. The two, who have previously met and been photographed together, supposedly 'hung out' as well. The message is as follows:
Just wanted to drop you a quick line as I've been having a busy time of it - honest! I've recently been in LA for work which was a total blast, I have to say. I was there just to have a few preliminary work meetings but the best thing was that I was able to have a bit of time off - I went to see American Idol which I'm a big fan of - and I also caught up with a lot of mates while I was there: I hung out with Rachel Stevens but I also got to see Geri and Melanie B too.

Meh
Ooh, lucky Emma, lucky Rachel!
Nah, more lucky Emma.
Thanks for posting,
It's a shame we never saw Emma in the AI audience. If she was there the same night as Rachel, she must have been close to her if they've been hanging out together...unless they went on different nights.
Yeah
Well maybe she was there but she wasn't filmed or something
aww I want news about music Oh well we there will be soon so we won't need to turn into the Darius forum.
Imagine sitting next to a spice girl!
I love Emma too.
I'd Be Shocked If I Won!
It had been a quiet couple of years for Emma Bunton, but now suddenly she’s everywhere. As well as being one of the favourites to win Strictly Come Dancing, Emma released this year’s Children In Need single and she’s just moved in with her boyfriend of eight years, Jade Jones. We caught up with her to discuss her Strictly schedule and the chemistry between her and partner Darren Bennett.
"People said to me at the beginning, 'If you do Strictly Come Dancing, it's going to be hard work', but I didn't think it would be this hard," Emma admitted. "But the main thing is, I am loving it. It's been quite hard work but it's really weird because I love it. Even Jade knows I'm usually terrible in the mornings and can't get up, but these days, I'm jumping out of bed. "I think it's because I'm loving every second of it. And when I love something, it's easy to get to it."
She acknowledges though that the dancing has been more difficult than she expected. "The training is very hard work. Bless Darren, he's very patient with me,” she said of her dance partner. “The thing is, I pick something up but tend to forget it very quickly, and he has to keep going over it with me.
"He's become a little bit harder with me over the last couple of weeks, because I haven't had the time to give him, so I think he's getting a bit frustrated with me. But I'm trying my best and we do work well together. There is a chemistry between us - he's just so easy to get on with. We're also the same star sign so we're quite similar people as well."
Emma, one of the favourites to win the show, decided to take part in the dancing competition because she fancied a challenge. "At the beginning of the year, I turned 30 and said to myself, 'I'm going to give myself challenges this year'. I'm not a trained dancer by any means," she said.
"I've done little bits of dancing with the [Spice] girls, which is very simple stuff, but this is completely different from anything else that I've done. There's something so special about dancing with a partner and being taught a new skill.
"I'd be quite shocked if I won," Emma added. "I'm just taking each day as it comes. We've got to learn a new dance every week, sometimes two dances, so I'm not thinking that far ahead - even though Darren probably is!"
While the dance training means working closely with Darren on those sexy moves, she says that Jade isn't fazed by her spending so much time with another man. "Oh no, he's not jealous at all. Darren is married to Lilia on the show, and Jade's come down to a few practices, along with Lilia. We both wanted to take up the tango after watching Strictly last year, and I tried to find a tango teacher to teach us. So before I even got asked to do the show, we were already really keen to take up some sort of dancing - we just didn't get round to it.
"Now whenever I get home, Jade's always asking me what I've learnt today. I always say that I'm too tired but he wants me to show him. So I've been teaching him little bits and he loves it."
She needs to win if she wants to release another song me thinks
She stands no chance of winning.
In the last four weeks the judges have voted her Top out of all the dancers in 3 out of the 4 weeks, but the public have voted her bottom four weeks on the trot.
When it gets to the final three contestants it will be a straightforward public vote, so there is no way she will win.
The same thing happened last year with Zoe Ball. Remember teenage girls will not vote for another pretty female. Especially a successful one worth c. £10 million.
They would much rather vote for the "fit" England Rugby player Matt Dawson; the "swoonsome" England Test cricketer Mark Rampakash or the 17 year-old Eastenders actress (who's contract is not going to be renewed = the sympathy vote) Louise Lytton.
^^ And also she's the worst dancer
Mark and Karen have it going ON! They deserve it
She's a good dancer, but I think the winner will either be Mark or Louisa.
It could do wonders for her album if she won.
I'm too caught up with Leona to watch SCD
it will be between emma andf ruby from eastenders i think
oops, double post!
well louisa went out last night so she outa the running. emma is one of the best dancers on there but the public just dont give her the votes. and the whole point of the show is for the lowest combined score of judges and public vote, goes out. and if she gets the lowest overral then she deserves to go out. i am a fan btw, but thats just the way it is.
i was sure louisa and emma would be the final 2
Apparantly she is re-releasing her album after the next single, "You're all I need to know".
Quite strange, but maybe the record company will re-promote it because its got lost in the christmas market. I wonder if there will be any new tracks on it? I've bought the album and it contains 2 b sides from the single.
Im getting it for crimbO!
Emma Bunton announces pregnancy
BBC Entertainment News
Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton has announced she is expecting a baby with her partner, Jade Jones, a former member of boy band Damage.
The 31-year-old, who came third in BBC One show Strictly Come Dancing, has been dating Jones, 27, for eight years.
Bunton, commonly known as Baby Spice, said: "I guess I will be handing over the 'Baby' tag now to a deserving little new owner."
It is thought the baby is due sometime in the summer.
In a statement, the couple said: "We are so happy, it's unbelievable news. What a great start to the New Year."
Bunton recently revealed she been had diagnosed with endometriosis, a condition which can make it difficult to conceive.
In a magazine interview last month, she said: "I went back to my doctors recently, and they seemed to think it was easing off, which would make it hopeful for me to have children."
Bunton recently reached number three in the charts with her own version of the '60s classic Downtown, for Children in Need.
Bunton is not the only pregnant Spice Girl, as Mel B is expecting her second child in the spring.
She says the father is actor Eddie Murphy - but he has demanded paternity tests.
Geri Halliwell gave birth to her first child, Bluebell Madonna, eight months ago and Victoria Beckham has three children, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.
Please pass your thoughts on Baby Spice becoming a mum?
I didn't know she even had a boyfriend
Brilliant news! She seems like such a nice, warm person - a perfect mum, and her child is going to be adorable when you combine hers and Jade's looks
Only Mel C to go now
I think Mel C is a lesbian non?
Awwww well done to Emma anyway
well done to her glad shes gonna be a mum finally
Awww, well done Emma!
Aww another Spice baby ... Mel C is gonna be the only childless one now!!
Anyways I'm really happy for Emma and her partner!!
Love,
Kirsty xx
Congrats to her. May she spoil the child rotten with her spice millions.
Good Luck To Emms
Oh and congratulations to the dad to be Jade Jones (ex-Damage).
Damage - Ghetto Romance video (UK#7 2000)
Jade is the main singer wearing the yellow tinted glasses who was the male winner in 2006 The Games on Channel 4.
awwww great news, shes wanted kids for ages so congrats
Yeah well done Emma, so pleased for her, i'd love to have her as my mum (sorry if that sounds really perverse, lol)
Awwww...a baby Baby Spice!!!
Congratulations to Emma and Jade!!!
And to think she must've been doing all that dancing in the early stages of pregnancy!!! Morning sickness mustn't've been a problem!!
That's great news! Wish her the best of luck
Congrats Emma, I wish you all the Best.
Congratulations to Emma!! she wil be a great mum
I'm delighted for Emma and to be honest, I feel for some reason this may help her single 'All I Need To Know' to do a bit better in the charts than what has been predicted. Really hope it does.
I'm so chuffed for her!! I have no idea why, but I think she'll be an awesome mum!!
Awww how nice! Babies rule!
Awww Bless. She'll be a really beautiful mum!
I didn't know Mel B was already a mum.
congrats Emma
congrats and goo dluck to her
Interesting. Is she trying to get into the TV presenting business because she also filled in on Richard & Judy as well
Emma was just on the Royal Variety Performance introducing one of the acts!

EMMA BUNTON JOINS HEART
Feb 02, 2009 - Spice Girl Emma Bunton is to co-host Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston whilst regular co-presenter Harriet Scott gets married.
Emma will join Jamie for almost three weeks from Monday 16th February to Wednesday 4th March on the London station, between 6am and 9am.
Emma Bunton said: Anyone that knows me will realize that it would take something very special to get me out of bed at 4am! I just never thought it would be Jamie Theakston!
Jamie Theakston said: "We're all so surprised that Harriet has found a fella and the shock that we've also been able to get someone as talented, fun and gorgeous as Emma has nearly finished me off.
And finally, whilst we are publishing quotes, here's one from Heart 106.2s Programme Director Adrian Stewart: We were looking for the perfect partnership while Harriet took time off to get married and Emma fits the bill. Shes great fun, lives life to the full and is a hard-working mum someone our typical Heart listener can relate to..plus, she knows how to keep Jamie Theakston in check!
Nice to see her doing something!

It will be interesting to see what her comments will be like, i have a feeling though she will be too nice.
I may be tempted to watch this for the first time..mabye
A thread to post random news & chat about Emma!
Daily Star:
Spice girls to release NEW MUSIC as part of their comeback but it won't be as a group
GOOD news Spice Girls fans - the pop superstars WILL release new music as part of their surprise comeback.
The bad news, however, is that it won't be as a group.
I'm told Emma Bunton has secretly been working on solo material in the hope of making a pop comeback.
It's 11 years since the Heart Radio DJ released All I Need To Know, which was her last solo single.
But my source claimed: "Emma has been secretly working on new music.
"She really enjoyed being back in the studio with Geri and Mel B when they were originally planning the Spice Girls comeback, under the alias of GEM. Although that project never saw the light of day it made her realise how much she misses singing.
"Seeing former Eternal singer Louise Redknapp performing again has also been a motivating factor.
"It's very early days but a solo project is under way."
Emma enjoyed seven top 10 singles as a solo star, including 2001's No.1 What Took You So Long.
https://www.dailystar.co.uk/showbiz/goss/679462/Wired-Spice-Girls-release-new-music-part-of-comeback-not-as-group-Emma-Bunton
I was almost very excited. But then I realised there's no quote from Emma herself.
She's on radio all the time. So if there was anything to say, I think we'd have heard it from her.
How I wish it was true.
On a side note, Louise was fantastic at Scala the other week.
There might be some truth to this - https://www.instagram.com/p/BeucuKcAIia/
OK if this is true, IT WILL f*** ME UP!! COME ON BUNTOOOOON!!
Emma is the guest judge on tonight's episode of Drag Race All Stars! The challenge is I assume Spice Girls themed as they are "auditioning" for a group called Kitty Girls. Praying for a Spice Girls lip sync song also *.*
It's on at 2:30am Comedy Central (right after the US airing) if anyone's up then to watch or wants to record
Oh I think I have comedy central actually.
Found it the other day and South Park was on.
I'll record it
Ive never seen an episode of Drag Race *gasp* but Ill definitely watch this one, sounds like itll be fun! Maybe itll get me into the programme. I have so many friends who watch it/love it.
I had no idea she would be on Drag Race, so it was a pleasant surprise to see her.
GUYS!
Emma's Free Me is FINALLY on iTunes UK under Emma, along with Maybe and Crickets.
Under Emma Bunton, you will find Life in Mono is also back on iTunes (it dissapeared for a while) and A Girl Like Me is at a reduced price of 4.99
IT'S LIKE CHRISTMAS ALL OVER AGAIN DOWNLOAD IT PLAY IT MAKE IT NUMBA ONNEEEE
#GetThemSalesBunton
Still a few things missing though:
- Free Me Single 1 & 2
- I'll Be There Single 2
- What Took You So Long?
- Take My Breath Away
About time! Was A Girl Like Me added back before today? I remember it wasn't around for a while, because What Took You So Long? could only be downloaded via a random compilation.
I wish the Take My Breath Away single could be added - and to Spotify as well. I prefer the single mix to the album version!
I also wish her Vevo page would upload her missing videos. We're Not Gonna Sleep Tonight, Free Me, Maybe, I'll Be There and Crickets Sing for Anamaria. They're only available on unofficial accounts!
Cool , I really want another album from Emma
Emma's Free Me is now on iTunes and Spotify
^ Free Me has been on UK Spotify for a long time!
Emma will be the Guest Announcer on this Saturday's Saturday Night Takeaway - https://www.instagram.com/p/BgV4ALEFxNn
First Kylie, now Emma. I might start to seriously like this show
Drag race was such a disappointment .
How dare they not lip sync to a spice classic .
I think she was drunk on tonight's Saturday Night takeaway ha ha
Emma at the Global Gift Gala in Paris a few days ago -
To the person who has a friend who works with Emma has she signed on to Heart for another year or is she still holding out?
I will ask and find out
she looks stunning
I'm so into Life in Mono so much lately such a lovely album
I love Emma ! Met her a couple of times. Gushed about LIM.
Emma is my favorite Spice, her songs are great
Emma Bunton responds to Spice Girls reunion rumours and confirms she is working on new solo music
http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/emma-bunton-responds-to-spice-girls-reunion-rumours-and-confirms-she-is-working-on-new-solo-music__23086/
Yesss new solo music
Interesting to see what sound she will go with. It's likely she won't have much single success but a new solo album may do ok for her if she promotes well.
Yes Emma! Woohoo!!!
I can't wait. Her voice has been sounding stronger than ever.
She has the best chance of success. Heart Radio are bound to back her and if she promotes Radio 2 will likely do so too. Then she can get on all the shows for promo she still has the 'star power' and likeability factor to perform on all the morning shows and one show etc. Hope she does something.
I'd love something like Free Me again
So has she signed on with Heart again? I'd love her to throw herself fully into a reunion and solo music.
Hi, does anyone know if any of Emma's albums (and Mel C's album 'Stages' from 2012) are still available somewhere online to legally buy digital copies of?
I couldn't find any of Emma Bunton's albums available for digital/mp3 download, on any amazon websites/Amazon Music (android) app, nor Apple Music's (android) app, or websites.
Can such websites only be accessed with a desktop or notebook computer running Windows 10 or Mac OS?
I really hope this happens (and she doesn't "do a Geri" and get stuck in a cycle of recording albums and never releasing them). It'd be a dream to have another Emma album after all this time.
I'm excited about the potential new music, I just saw her This Morning interview where she speaks about it and the Spice Girls reunion
Can anyone post the full leaked tracks I wanna know if I missed something or not
Found them
She is in the studio working with Cher, Olly Murs and One Direction producers.
I hope she won't do like Geri..
Yay so happy
Yes Emma! I need that voice in my life again.
I'm not hankering for huge chart success but I think she'll equal Melanie C's recent successes. Her sound has always been less polarising, so if the material is strong... who knows what might happen.
If this comes out before Christmas, it will make my year.
She posted on Instagram yesterday that she's working on something that's her dream job (whilst looking flawless as ever, I may add!): https://www.instagram.com/p/BmTPvUgA4yp
Also, Beau turned 11 yesterday, I can't believe that. I remember going to see JLS at the O2 about 2011/2012, and Emma, Jade and Beau were sat in the block opposite mine. She's tiny in real life!
Downtown and All I Need to Know are now unavailable to watch on Vevo :/ I wonder why?
These were the links:
Downtown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhD4rXkV0yo
All I Need to Know: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paHyQ897fFI
So her only videos remaining on Vevo are What I Am, What Took You So Long? and Take My Breath Away. Every video beyond that is only available via unofficial accounts. She has such a terrible online presence for her music videos!
I can't believe she didn't even upload maybe
Really! Her online presence is SHITE! She needs a website and to upload her videos on YouTube/Vevo professionally!
Cant believe it took over 10 years for Free Me to go on iTunes, let alone of Spotify.
She'd hire someone to do these kinda of things
Emma tweeted this two days ago, in case anyone missed it..
https://twitter.com/EmmaBunton/status/1039971703747694594
This is starting to feel real!
I'm sooooooooooooo ready even if it does end up being a Christmas album
I also LOVE that Fred Jerkins responded to the tweet and invited her to go to America and work together
https://twitter.com/FredJerkins/status/1039991818249756675
Fair enough. I still want to hear the music that Emma worked on with Fred/Darkchild for A Girl Like Me!
I wonder what sound she is going for? More of the 60s type sound or a dance comeback aka Cher or something completely different. Dont expect anything until after Christmas now though no way she is making that mistake again!
Ooh. Even though I'm gagging for more of that 60's flavour (not covers btw), I'm sure I'd enjoy a dance/pop route if that happens.
I imagine itll be very mummy/r2 music
We want a solo tour date !!
If Louise can fill out Scala, surely Baby Bunton can do the same?
Free Me 2.0 please Emma
I saw on her Twitter earlier that she's also a voice in the new animated film Small Foot - she plays the voice of Mama Bear! She does quite a good job to be fair. I would say maybe she has a song for it as well but they've already got Niall Horan doing the title theme 'Finally Free' so maybe not?
Great News. How soon is her new album likely to be released internationally?
Will it be available to buy and download from websites like mp3million?
Louise had a more successful solo career than Emma did tbf 2 platinum, 1 gold and 1 silver albums (3 going top 10) and 12 top 20 singles as apposed to Emma's 2 gold and 1 silver albums (2 going top 10) and 9 top 20 singles.
Although Emma did get a #1 which Louise never managed on her own and what a song it is
I don't know what the venue size is of the one stated above, Emma could probably sell similar venues to Melanie C, albeit she hasn't built up a touring fandom... I'd go anyway
I don't know why she didn't tour with Free Me
Touring was definitely a missed opportunity. I can't actually remember what she was up to during the second half of 2004... was it just further European promotion of the album? Then 2005 saw her attempt to breakthrough in the US, which sadly was essentially a waste of time.
At any point in 2004 or 2005 she should have tried to do a little tour of the UK and maybe the odd few dates in the Europe, all in small venues - surely they would have done ok for her, and surely that would have been a better use of her time, raising her profile in markets that were somewhat there for her.
Apparently the producers of said music have confirmed it is not a Christmas album... so it is an album then
Brilliant news
Thank god it's not a Christmas album so I hope it's a Christmas release
Emma is the new host of The Great American Bake Off
https://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/2018/10/great-american-baking-show-season-4-host-judges/
Fine, as long as this doesnt take over priorities of releasing new music!!!
Personally I couldnt care less about reality tv and specially bake off, but if this makes her happy, then so be iT!
It is already filmed. It was filmed in London during the summer, she might go to the states the week it starts to air to promote it but apart from that it is all done and dusted already.
Surprised that managed to be kept a secret for a few months!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BpE-pHYAFeA/?hl=en&taken-by=emmaleebunton
I wonder what the reunion means for Emma's rumoured return as a solo artist? Any thoughts or insights?
She'll build new fans within the reunion so I won't be surprised if she waits after the tour is over .
Yes, I hope so. As long as it still happens!
Fingers crossed I want a new album from Emma! It's a shame that Geri's MOTM didn't get a release as I genuinely love it, would love a polished version.
Check her insta she's recording new music again and signed a new deal OMG
Excited that she's finally confirmed it! I can't wait!
I wonder when she'll release it? I'll predict March 2019, with her trying to attract the mothers day market. We'll see!
Woohoo! I'd never have dared to dream that we'd get so much of a Spice revival.
2019 is going to be such a great year!
I CANNOT WAITTTT
Exciting!
YAY!!!!
I believe that Emma has realised how important music is for her and how much she enjoys performing, Im sure that she will go on tour (small one like Melanie C). BTW, does anybody knows why Free Me and Life In Mono arent on Spotify?
They've always shown on Spotify for me
Can't wait, I adore Melanie C obviously but will be great to have a new album from another girl!
Oh my that picture on that last video is not good
Emma has announced this morning that she will present her last ever Breakfast show on Heart before Christmas. She will still be doing her Sunday show however - her video of her announcement is here: https://twitter.com/thisisheart/status/1072051011957723136?s=19
Bless her. She's so emotional. But she's made the right choice.
Every time she mentions the new album, I get a little more excited. Feels like it's really going to happen now.
Thank God, the radio show has been such a tie.
Good it's time to focus on her solo music and the spice girls tour and stuff
OMG Emma is shooting something
Exciting!
Looks like free me 2.0
I hope we got more uptempo tracks this time cuz Life in mono didn't have any really I still love it but More like Maybe ba da da ba da da da
I'm rather excited at this album but yes more Free Me or A Girl Like Me than Life in Mono please.
I think somewhere between Free Me and Life in Mono would be perfect, but I also hope she has developed her sound further and into new hights. She had a very strong sound with Free Me, quite unique amongst the pop landscape of the time. Then she furthered it into Life in Mono which became almost like a concept album - or as close to one as a solo spice got - but her solo career seemed to stop then, which was a massive shame.
Now that is bakc on track, I just hope she surprises us. Judging from her outputs, I am sure she will. I just want it to be good and a development from before. It's been 12 years since her last album, so only makes sense that she has also grown with that time.
i'm wanting a 'life in mono' 2 tbh... when i spoke to her about it last december, she seemed really content with it as a body of work.
we didn't discuss new music as i had no idea she was working on it
it was the twelve year anniversiary of 'life in mono' and i congratulated her about it, which she was thrilled about as "most people only ever want to talk to me about the spice girls, which is amazing, but no-one ever talks to me about 'life in mono'" which made me gasp as i explained "it's such a great record, the title track has to be one of the best post-spice songs and then there's 'take me to another town' which deserved to be a single" and she agreed. She said she was pregnant at the end of the era and the label felt like it was a good way to end it as there didn't seem like much interest in the record, which saddened me. She said she hadn't thought about that time in her life for so long and wish she'd done a tour "or something" for it. She also mentioned how the title track was actually a cover and i didn't realise... i said i'd check it out but i didn't. We then sang a bit of 'crickets sing for anamaria' and that was about it... we took a cute pic tho
aaawww that's so nice! Thanks for sharing the story and for your enthusiasm about that record. It is, in my opinion, one of the best albums in the solo spice cannon just behind Free Me.
I am saddned that the record didnt get the attention it deserved, as shown here. It was a clear misfire but I think it was more a marketing/PR issue than anything else, as the record got good reviews and people like her.
Let's hope for the best in the new year with new music!
Thanks for sharing your story Take me to another town would have slayed and it was the most fan favorite
Agree! With a quicky video, it would have been awesome. So sad at how the whole project was handled really... Oh well...
Agree. I think ultimately it was the marketing/PR that f***ed it up for her. releasing the album on the back of Downtown was such a misfire. The track brought nothing new to the scene and they clearly rushed the promotion to coincide with Children in Need.
Then, with All I Need To Know, the video was cute but where was the promo? A couple of half-arsed mimed performances for such a gem of a song, and nothing else. I think the record company and Simon really f***ed it up on that one.
I wish she hadnt done Strictly. For me, thats where it all started to go down. She had a good name after Free Me and people were intrigued. But her going on that show was pointless and took away from her music completely.
A few thousands sales off silver for Life in Mono! Life in Mono sold 53,510 sold as of 2016. I think it sold a bit under 40,000 of those in 2006. Although that seems fantastic for a #65 peaking album, it's reflective of the state of the market at the time - sales were humongous across the board! So the definition of what would have been considered as "ok" back then probably couldn't be said of Life in Mono, even though with the benefit of hindsight and comparing it to today's market, it seems good. I mean its chart run of 65-75-79-128-156-out-188-out shows how it performed amongst other albums of the time - not very well. It's all relative.
It took 92,000 copies to be the 200th best seller of 2006 (so clearly Emma would have been far off with her <40k sales). 92k would be enough to be the 63rd best seller of 2018, but of course today's album market is inflated by streaming units, so it's not a very direct comparison.
~
I think Emma's problem with her solo career was not striking while the iron was somewhat hot. The gap between Crickets Sing for Anamaria (i.e. the end of the Free Me era in the UK) to Downtown was 2 and a half years! She was out of sight and out of mind.
I always thought that they could have squeezed one more single out of Free Me in the UK. Also, surely she was in a position, on the strength of that era, for a small academies tour to have been viable in 2004? That really was the point in time to try and carve a path as a live act. Following that, I think she should have been back in the studio with the intention of getting her third solo album out in 2005 (preferably early in the year to have got in there first before Melanie C, Geri & Mel B ). Her attempt at making Free Me happen in the US was a mistake, that effort and focus would have been better spent on maintaining her presence in the European charts and building a reputation as a live performer. Instead she waited too long, made a decent album, but then tried to sell it via a cover version & a reality TV competition.
It was just announced on BBC2 that her new single will be out on February 22nd!
COME ON BUNTON, WE'RE READY
Yes! This is the best news. I wonder what it will be.
Hoping for an upbeat bossa nova number. A little bit 'Breathing', a little bit 'Take Me To Another Town'.
Zoe said Emma would be on Radio 2 on 27th February, but I didnt hear a release date of 22nd mentioned? Does that info come from elsewhere?
Excited for her to begin this era!

wow before the tour
I think for the new album a bonus greatest hits CD could help, bit like what olly murs done with his latest album.
This release will be genuinely interesting in how it fairs. Of the 4 Spice Girls likely to release music I feel Emma is best placed to have success. Her post music career has been based around being very likeable and appealing to your 40 or 50 year old mum type figure, they are one if the few people who still buy albums. She is a spice girl though and a certain gay following will always be there too.
I think the single and album should be aimed at the the 2 different demographs, the single should have a vinyl release with a b-sides and a CD single with remixes sold through a website and the download be 59p. She should definitely go the Kylie route of appealing to collectors and try to make some impact that way. Also do G.A.Y, attitude mag etc.
The album should be aimed at Asda mums, go chat on Loose Women about feeling how at 40 something she thought I'm not doomed or dead and still want to follow my passion of music etc.
As for the music it needs to bridge those 2 demographs though which is the tough thing. I think keeping a retro 60s feel is the best bet tbh. The younger gays love that 60s aesthetic whilst it makes the Asda mums nostalgic.
This is also her chance to do some solo gigs !!
Is the February 22 release date only for certain countries and only in digital form?
Does anyone know if her fourth album will be available to buy on mp3million.com?
Basically everything Jay says.
I WOULD KILL FOR A VINYL RELEASE OF THE ALBUM
I wonder what direction she's going for this time ?
Btw she was just shooting something .
She looks so beautiful
Yeah stunning
Well one way or another, it looks like we'll definitely be hearing it two weeks from tomorrow: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0002s58
YYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAYA
OMG I can't believe it
It sounds silly but I was trying to listen to the music in the background of the Insta video Emma posted when she was doing the shoot. It sounded like her a little bit, but I couldn't work it out.
Looks like she is working with Simon Jones PR, who is the same PR for Little Mix, Niall Horan, Westlife etc.
She has a good team this time around, with Simon and BMG. Those are big names! Excited to hear more about the album.
I want 20 tracks
Emmas been represented by Simon Jones for a few years now
I just hope the first single doesn't leak .
I just wanna know the title already lol.
Monday morning would be a good time to put up a pre-orders on iTunes and obviously track title. Have it for 79p too.
I know nothing confirmed about release date yet,
but MAYBE its out on 22nd Feb right?
I still can't believe it that We could get new single from E within less than weeeeeek!
Would love it if it's out on the 22nd, that's the day before my birthday
Still no official announcement/launch, and there's only 9 days to go until she's on Radio 2! I'm impatient for this era to begin!
Feb is about to end Come on Emma
Im honestly so PUMPED for this! The little teases of shoots and interviews are driving me a bit nuts lol
Apparently single wont out on 22nd tomorrow...
Bit weird if its out on the day of Radio2.
* flop_is_coming.gif *
IMHO, it wouldn't surprise me if they release this on the 27/28th to avoid her getting lost in the new Friday releases. They must know that she'll be dead as a singles artist in the streaming era, so I assume all focus will go on getting the album as high as possible.
Emma looked amazing at the BRIT Awards yesterday!
She loves them shoes doesn't she. I've seen her wearing them quite a few times now
I'm so appreciate if they focus on THE ALBUM.
it's way better than "If the single flopped, NO ALBUM" situation
My time zone is currently 11 hours ahead of the UK, and when I checked mp3million, spotify and Samsung Music, I didn't notice any new releases for today, Friday.
She's really into that pink hair , she looks really stunning .
She changed her profile picture on Facebook.
Its PINK!
And posted pink picture on Instagram too.
Wonder if the new single is called Pink?
AND she also updated her Twitter with the pink pictures, and her biog which was out of date for a long time anyway. SHE COMING!!!
I hope she can get another top ten album.
Claire Richards managed one.
I hope she manages at least to be successful enough to release a few more singles and albums beyond this era. That's the goal I guess x
The pink era
Maybe the goal is to confuse Pink fans to buy her album.
LMAO
Emma posted 3 Instagram videos with a new EMMA BUNTON logo, also posted on her Twitter and Facebook pages too
https://en-gb.facebook.com/EmmaBuntonOfficial/videos/1065894180286476/
Love the new logo! Bit retro chic which gives me confidence she'll still be on her throwback groove with this album
I'm not especially concerned with chart positions at this point. They've all hit that unfortunate age ceiling where an artist is no longer allowed to have a hit. I'm also not sure a looming Spice Girls reunion has any sway over how well their solo careers will do. If it couldn't help Mel C in 2007, I'm not sure how it can help now...
I only hope the girls can continue to do their solo work with distributors who have a reasonable set of expectations.
In the past ten years (the "charts-are-done-with-you" era), Mel C's managed one of her obvious best singles (Think About It) and two really solid albums of original stuff...Mel B's released a very likable song...and it's fairly criminal that Geri's Man on the Mountain material never got its proper due (Love and Light is way too good for its fate).
If Emma can even get to that level of expectation, I'm good.
Side note. I'm really quite happy none of them ever truly devolved into the type of artist who just sings about all the stuff they bought and how rich they are. Not. Naming. Names.
I'm so excited about hearing new music, seeing new performances, watching/reading interviews and being able to buy a new Emma album again. When it comes to the charts, I'll just consider it as a bonus if she does well - I'd certainly be very happy and satisfied if she managed a Top 10 album!
I'm just happy she's decided to give it another go, after all these years in which we'd resigned ourselves to thinking she'd never return to solo music. I'll certainly savour this, just in case this ends up being a one-time thing.
I'm liking the logo - can't wait to see the first official photos + single/album covers!
I've learnt to keep expectations low when it comes to success for the girls. Even back in the day the only really successful albums were Northern Star and Schizophonic, the rest all underperformed. I'm just happy to get new music and anything else is a bonus at the end of the day.
Emma has a newly launched website: http://www.officialemmabunton.com
Nothing too exciting, essentially it's a page to advertise her album pre-order - but if you scroll to the bottom of the page you can sign up to her mailer!
Can't wait
I see the links on her official website take us to a brand new, empty YouTube page, not the EmmaBuntonVevo one. I hope they finally upload ALL of her music videos, plus her new material all in one place.
^ Would be great if that ends up being the case! I still don't understand why Downtown & All I Need to Know were removed from her Vevo, or why most of her videos never got uploaded at all.
I know it's such a mess.
What I Am is on Vevo but it's on The Tin Tin Out page.
Great interview on The One Show yesterday! It was a lovely moment when that fan got to meet her.
Emma for EUPHORIA Magazine
https://www.euphoriazine.com/blog/2019/02/featured-emma-bunton
Apparently Emma said in her interview with Graham Norton that Let Love Lead the Way is her favourite Spice Girls album track...
Emma's strangely ditzy when it comes to the Spice Girls music.
Many years ago (and I don't know how this conversation came to happen lol) but for some reason she was insistent that Stop was a single from the 'Spice' album and was apparently very annoyed at a fan who told her that wasn't true...!
By the way has anyone else noticed that Emma's official website has been inaccessible for quite a few days now? http://www.officialemmabunton.com/ Her team is really dropping the ball on this.
You'd think she'd remember filming a video for Let Love Lead The Way... it's not like the Spice Girls have such a wast singles discography either.
To be fair to her, I dont think most people outside oftheir fanbase even remember LLLTW either so
Yeah but come on Emma shot a video for it, performed it on TOTP etc back in the day, performed it on the reunion tour. She surely knows it was a single she is just ditzy.
Even though EmmaBuntonVevo still exists I see the videos are now under 'Emma Bunton' along with the PITP Live performances, Too Many Teardrops audio and the 'Baby Please Don't Stop' music video which bumps up the channels viewing total to nearly 7 million views
All they need to do now is get the tintinout video shared on Emma's page and to add the Free Me era videos too.
All still seems a bit random and messy, they are adding uploads of singles that don't have their videos on her vevo under 'Emma Bunton' too.
Virgin, Universal & 19 really need to get a grip and get Emma's videos/music available worldwide.
It's pretty pathetic that only three of her original 10 singles have official uploads right now. It used to be five but Downtown & All I Need to Know were taken down for no apparent reason ugh. It's pretty crazy that 19 have never been bothered to upload the Free Me era videos, and I'm not sure why Virgin overlooked uploading We're Not Gonna Sleep Tonight.
Most people worldwide looking at her "Best of Emma Bunton" play list are not going to be able to play the Free Me & Life in Mono era songs.
#mess
In this day and age too the charts mean so little to people it is all about having an artists body of work at a click whether it be Spotify or YouTube.
Quite a few Bunton tracks have leaked today
The stuff that is unheard before includes:
Everybody Wants To Be (demo, A Girl Like Me era)
All I Need To Know (demo)
What does everyone think of them?
Personally I hate EWTB and I am glad it was taken off the album (an internal promo cdr exists with it as the final track, with the date being 8/3/2001, just a month before the album release....).
The demo version of All I Need To Know is gorgeous too, although I am glad she went with a different (better) mix for the album and single But it is super nice to have it in demo form and check how it could have sounded differently.
Where I wanna hear it and the Mel B one too I can't find them .
Me too, I want heart them? Where? Please
Me too please
After I visited Emma's Facebook page a few times in March, I received a notification that I had been given a Top Fan badge and one of my posted comments received a like. But recently when I went back to look on her page wall, my name wasn't included among the 105 fans who had been given a Top Fan badge during mid March to mid April. (In the lead up to the release of My Happy Place.) And that particular comment no longer had a thumbs up (like) symbol next to it. I think those badges are in words only, not an actual on screen badge image.
Bunton will be back on Great America's Baking Show
https://ew.com/tv/2019/08/01/great-american-baking-show-season-5/
Emma has joined some high profile Charitable campaigns recently!
She has been a Unicef Ambassador since 2013 and has recently joined their Back To School campaign:
https://www.unicef.org.uk/press-releases/emma-bunton-goes-back-to-school-with-unicef-to-celebrate-world-childrens-day/
And she also joined the Love Giving Campaign:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t03IXlo1ljI&feature=share&fbclid=IwAR0fSJcLII-oF2d1KKtUUgKBmaF7RDkxD2BCQo5xutNZEOTwKaqk0ffPA5w
We love a busy charitable Spice
This is super random but Emma has basically been announced as a celebrity DJ for Fridays and Saturday nights at Snug & Lettuce bar chains in the UK. She wont actually DJ though, she just picked a playlist that they will play LOL
https://catererlicensee.com/slug-lettuce-spices-it-up/?fbclid=IwAR2LviqP_Hz6vYP4kHhjrwgmzeo2wDIlbz4N3Ai0-_D_gH2p5__7aXam4DU
SOOOO random. Plus, Snug & Lettuce are just tacky lol
Not Emma getting paid to DJ whilst not actually being there, queen of showing up Mel C and scamming.
I mean, it is not technically DJing lol she just curated a playlist - those are very different things lol
As if any of those paid PA DJing are anything bar standing their pretending to mess about on some decks as a playlist plays.
They should have set up a label together so they could l release via the label.
Emma is a flop, unlike Melanie C who keeps her record label in the red.
No other spice girl has 3 top 20 albums, end of.
For any of them to be still releasing is great, none of them nowadays are big players in the industry so getting any material from them is a bonus. They have all had some success as solo artists so let's just enjoy it for what it is, we all have our faves but I don't think there is a need to pit them against each other, especially when they are friends themselves outside the whole crazy world of pop.
Melanie C is the only Spice Girl with 4 top 25 albums
Mel C is the only Spice Girl to have released more than 4 albums and also have 7 Top 75 albums.
Mel C is the only solo Spice to miss the top 40 with more than 1 album.
Please stop the comparisons. It's embarrasing
It's getting us back to number one in that forum rank thing.
If Emma has a contract with BMG she will soon be dropped because of poor sales x
Actually my friend who works in the industry told me BMG are happy with Emma and have plans for her next year.
Yeah TBH I don't think she has done as bad as people say she has.
Of course, she hasnt sold bucket loads of records, but for a vintage artist of her size, I do think it could have been worse.
Clearly BMG are playing the long game with her, which is nice! I just hope the next phase isn't this covers and Disney crap they've done this year. And she needs to be working with better producers!
It has happened. After much annoyance, I have stopped getting twitter alerts from La Bunton.
Most of the stuff is so saccharine and boring. I coudnt care less about another tweet from the baking show, the disney stuff or any more Christmas shite. I will give a damn again if she does more music stuff.
UNTIL THEN....
You can still get exciting updates from Mel C djing, Geri wearing white or Mel B on her next low rent TV show. I'll never get these girls, the world has accepted thel as a 4 piece, 90s nostalgia is so hot, anything they do as a group get a zillion times more attention but here we are.
Mel C said her album isn't coming till the end of next year, so expect lots more shitty DJ slots in random countries.
Even solo wise it is always low rent, Mel C will tour in some dingy places to the same 500 people whilst the show is a drab affair.
As solo artists or celebs they really aren't much above Love Island 'stars'.
I'm just being honest, all the solo stuff is low rent and boring as f***. Emma doing the Royal Albert Hall is about as exciting as it has got solo wise for over a decade.
I mean My happy place was the first vinyl album we got solo wise since Free me #sigh
As solo artists and celebs they are so boring, Mel c's last tour she wore black every night, when on the recent spice tour she looks like a super hero.
They are lazy, even mel c when solo artists, they go for quick cash jobs with little effort.
We know you prefer Emma now shut the f*** up !!
Get the f*** out of Emma's topic if you dont wanna talk about her.
Lets keep this topic being strictly about Emma! Not the topic to be discussing the other girls careers.
Your the one not talking about her . You twat !
Always going on about Melanie C . U prick !
Jesus, stop with the bitching and name calling, please.
At the end of the day, it doesnt really matter that much. There are much more bigger problems in our lives than the careers of the solo Spice Girls. No need to vent your frustrations at one another and using vile language....
If I had known this was going to be the case, I wouldnt have written anything
No sure if it has been mentioned here, but Emma did tweet that she is more confident to write new music, and Metrophonic (My Happy Place producers) also tweeted that they are working on new music with her, hinting at an all originals album
From Emma's own track record, hopefully Ms Corona pisses off quick enough so Bunton can get to the studio still this year so that we can have a new album in roughly 4 years time
Original material only this time please, Emma. The original tracks from My Happy Place were pretty strong whereas the covers were a bit disappointing.
ALSO - let's stream Maybe on Spotify and take it to 1million streams ONLY like 50,000 to go
My Happy Place would've been epic without all the covers
Emma should try to do 80's disco sound she'd really slay
A Girl Like Me is globally finally available on all streaming platforms.
Get streaming so Free Me and Life In Mono are added.
Well that's a nice surprise. Her social media has been very keen to keep pushing her as a singer/solo artist/spice girl so I'd assume BMG have some plans for her at some point in the future.
I really want to message her and say "they are" Emma not "there are!"
I wonder what type of deal she signed I mean it can't have been very high paid if they are happy with her 30k worldwide sales, there must be some other way of making money for them?
Omg ya I would welcome Free Me and Life in Mono to become available that would be wonderful
All the videos missing uploaded to her official YouTube channel too is a must.
I've always said Kylie's 'what do I have to do' is how I'd like Emma to take that 60s sound and make it more dance like. I'll be there was getting there.
I hope she will release singles. I want 'So Long' & Taking Easy' so badly.
Emma will be on Shopping with Keith Lemon tonight, ITV2 at 10pm:
Roman Kemp & Emma Bunton Keith has a fun day out at an amusement park with TV and radio presenter Roman Kemp and goes for a walk in the woods and a pint with Spice Girl Emma Bunton
'What Took You So Long' is my favourite solo single by Emma Bunton.
Catching up with Strictly Christmas special. No Bunton sadly.
I know she shouldn't jump on te bandwagon but i would love to hear Emma go for a 80s/dance sound if she were to release new music. Only 1 cover allowed this time miss Bunton
If only she surprised us with new music next year i would take that over new Spice music
Emma will probably release a cover of You Spin Me before new Spice Girls music happens x
A new Emma album 80s inspired and a new Spice album !!!
WOMAN is also going to be released and Free Your Love.
Double A side released on the new xmas EP to help streaming numbers.
😍🤣
Whats funny is your confident in an 80s inspired Emma album.
With her sweet tone and high pitch ??
I cant heart it.
Emma shined on Forever for me and i think more of an RNB / Janet vibe could work with her voice. I guess that vibe of music isnt too popular now anyways.
I am not antagonising anyone, lets be clear, I do not do that !!
With the pics / memes / the use of the words hun / telling me to bang my head against the wall is way more antagonistic.
My Happy Place Vinyl is 12.50 on Emmas store.
CD is half price too.
Get them sales Bunton. I got it half price last year, it is a beautiful vinyl.
Buntons birthday today.
Ive made a playlist
Its so cute how Emma and Geri's boy Monty share a birthday. Emma always calls him twinny
This is nice
Get some recognition of the cultural impact that Bunton brought to the world
https://www.vogue.co.uk/miss-vogue/gallery/emma-bunton-baby-spice-outfits
Happy birthday Emma
No photo from Mel B then ? Well public one anyways
Sadly she's quite inactive on social media these days! Mel B didn't do a birthday post for Melanie C either.
Yeah it's a real shame Mel B seems to have decided her social media is basically work only and that seems to be only if absolutely necessary. She hasn't posted in 6 weeks and her last post was about the show she is hosting which she is probably contracted to promote.
Do we know if Emma is at all still with BMG or was that just a one-album thing?
I remember that Chris from Spice Circle mentioned they had plans for her in 2020 but nothing since at all...
I'm pretty sure she still is but I think like everything 2020 was a write off. I wouldn't be surprised if something comes out before or around Wannabe's anniversary.
BMG released My happy place in Brazil 2nd half of last year and it was new prints for Brazil as like all Brazil cds they had the Brazil shipment code on them.
I had a feeling she was going to do a Christmas album and tie it in with another Royal Albert Hall gig, maybe that will happen this year instead? I'd be up for it but mainly just for the gig as I'd go see her again, I only rate 2 of the covers on MHP the rest can do one. I do think she sounded good on the Christmas covers she did though, Winter Wonderland and Baby it's cold outside especially.
I seriously doubt she will be asked to do another Albert Hall gig. It didnt even get close to sold out, so Im not sure on that one unless she did in fact have a Christmas album attached to it.
Coming Home For Christmas was supposed to be her 'Christmas classic' and it did bugger all. Like, so bad that it didnt even crack the 1000 sales or 100,000 streams across Spotify and Youtube
I'd hope she does have some plans FOR NEXT YEAR!
This year they need to focus on Spice Girls FOR ONCE
Just something random - my fantasy track lists for CD2 singles:

3. That's Why It Hurts

3. Maybe [Almighty Club Mix]
All I Need to Know - CD2
1. All I Need to Know [Radio Edit]
2. Rhapsody
3. All I Need to Know [Bimbo Jones Remix Radio Edit]
Side note: To my ears That's Why It Hurts doesn't sound like A Girl Like Me era, but apparently it is?
Can't get over her having so many 1CD releases!?
Yes, specially when those DVDs functioned as CD2. It was frustrating as hell to have songs exclusively there... What am I supposed to do when I want to play the song and dance to it in my room Bunton, Plug my DVD player to my stereo?!
Anyway... those sound gorgeous Jay, though some of those bsides were Not It
the A Girl Like Me era was quite poor when it came to music overall.... To Have and To Have To Let Go and Everybody Wants To Be were quite shite, hey...
Lyrically, Everybody Wants To Be is particularly cringe, so kind of surprised it was even considered to be in the album in the first place...
I suppose Emma could have gotten away with including a few "B Sides are B Sides for a reason" quality tracks For the most part I think the ones she actually did release were at least okay, and of course there's a few gems along the way such as So Long. The reason I included those titles in those fantasy track lists is essentially because they're the only tracks we know exist.
I wonder why Virgin didn't commission more remixes? Particularly having none at all for What Took You So Long seems a bit remiss for an era launching single! Not even a nice acoustic Lazy! The fact they included a 1999 released song as a B Side to be able to pad out its CD track listing...
Yeah she totally has some nice bsides, for sure, though I never cared much for the too-bubblegum-pop of the AGLM era bsides.
The Free Me ones were just STUNNING! Even Don't Tell Me You Love Me Anymore would have been a great track had it been paired with any single from AGLM era, instead of Maybe, ah!
But the run of Tomorrow + Who The Hell Are You + So Long + Taking It Easy + Eso Beso + Summer Samba + Midnight & Martinis is just
Totally forgot about the lack of remixes for her first solo single! It does seem quite mad that this was the move. She totally could have put a nice remix in there, or even spread it over a 2-CD with one of the bsides moving to CD2 and slap a remix on both CDs + an accoustic version!
Lazy Bunton or silly Virgin? Maybe both?! Imagine if What Took You So Long? had a CD2! It probably would have gone over 300k sales!!
WTYSL for me is crying out for a dance remix, I just have this feeling it would sound really good with a great dance beat behind it too.
I'm always a little shocked at how much I like the AINTK dance remix, it really shouldn't work but does.
Bimbo Jones smashed it with that mix, actually. It was quite jarring at first but as soon as the vocals came in, I was sold!
She did quite a good mix of WTYSL at the Albert Hall. Would be amazing if she can put out a new mix or two for its anniversary (it wont happen )
@Jay we should have a Emma Bunton Remix Rate!
I think that Maybe (Latino mix), and the Crickets Sing For Anamaria (Element's Crickets Dance On Tequila Booty Mix) where just glorious Some of the best remixes in Spiceworld, in my opinion, as they kind of reinvent the original songs and give them a whole new life - and funnily enough, both of them could be singles too (with shortned versions obvs!)
All I Need To Know (Bimbo Jones Mix) was great too, as was the We're Not Gonna Sleep Tonight 3AM mix
And obviously both Free Me (Full Intention's Freed Up Mix) and Maybe's excellent Bini & Martini Club Mix too!
Bunton's Remix Discography is BOP CENTRAL!
How to contact Virgin to ask them to put online all the singles on the streaming services.
Yeah her team know her back catalogue is not complete on streaming but it's really complicated in terms of who has the distribution rights to what in what area. Some parts of the world the companies or labels who distributed her music might not exist anymore.
A girl like me was easier as it was all Virgin.
Bimbo Jones gave Emma the best remixes
On another point.... I had a couple of messages with a insider who knows quite a lot of Spice-related stuff and has direct links with the girls, and he wasnt too confident with Emma working on music right now, but he did say that he wasnt 'sure' about it but 'hopes so'....
Oh well..
If you look on kworb even now it has all Spice girls videos as blocked in Serbia, so even a massive band with Universal sorting their catalogue just can't sort the rights for certain things.
As for Emma if she was going to release music I think she has left it too late to do anything before the Spice Girls anniversary now. I'm assuming the girls will have filming commitment dates booked in already for the documentary/goggle box type thing and whatever they might do.
I think all 4 will be pretty quiet this next 2 or 3 months, Melanie wraps up The Voice Kids on Saturday (when the final is being recorded).
https://www.penguin.co.nz/books/the-mamas-book-9781529104561?fbclid=IwAR2t4QxgJyKX59stT2VfUBHOC60Ax2fbS4NXVUQhWtTAgZ-qUSMug8e72c0
well.... good for her I guess...
ok, i'll take my second copy of Hear Me Out.
Unfortunately, this sounds like totally the kind of thing that celebrities like what Emma has become would do in lockdown for a year.
Boring as hell, no-one really needs it either, but it is minimum effort for her so she will do it...
The girls test us at every turn
Well I guess work doesn't grow on trees, so good for her.
Obviously I find it personally very reductive to see her release a cover album and flog baby parenting books/products, but not unexpected at this point.
Books are always such easy money and minimal effort, so few books by celebrities do they actually have much involvement in the actual process of being put together. Emma will have jotted down a few anecdotes and the rest will have been done for her.
I get it but I'm not interested.
Sadly, I agree with most of the sentiment here. I don't think this publication is going to appeal to Emma's fanbase.
But maybe she's got an informative new angle that will bring something different to her book. I could see her having a great point-of-view on a modern gender-neutral approach. That could garner her some success, with the right publicity.
I guess it depends on how you define Emma's "fanbase" - I'm sure there's a lot of women in their late 20s and early/mid-30s who grew up listening to the Spice Girls and now have kids...
Yeah I mean from a business sense this will appeal to her Kit and King and Heart radio listeners I'm sure.
Sadly it mums and gays that she appeals to and really the gays are only interested in a short, Mighty Hoopla setlist of about 5 songs.
surely the fact she's never been approached for a Pride suggests so? And never done one...
I don't think he's attacking neither Emma nor the LGBTQ+ community, I probably agree that the average gay is more interested in a 5-hit performance at an LGBTQ+ extravaganza festival than in a parenting book or a cover album (I'm saying this as I include myself in that, mainly cause I love Mighty Hoopla and would probably enjoy that more than her latest offering mentioned above, that's it). Not taking anything away from Emma's potential, her support of gays nor from the whole LGBTQ+ community
apologies, it just read like a very generalised comment
Emma would be so suitable for hoopla sign her up!!
Set List (Main Stage)
1. What Took You So Long
2. Dont Call Me Baby
3. Ill Be There / TMBA
4. Downtown
5. 2 Become 1
6. Maybe
yeah i'm not attacking the LGBT+ community... i'm talking about someone who actively supports and love the community and is part of it...
Watching Mel C perform at Prides and Mighty Hoopla shows that besides the hits (besides a handful of people), no-ones too interested in the album cuts.
In an ideal world, I'd love Emma to do a small gig somewhere and do some rare cuts but I just don't think she's too invested...when you've had such success as the Spice Girls or even her solo career at points, everything else is going to seem a bit... of a letdown.
I would absolutely love her to tour in the future, but she will never do it. She proved she is at home performing her own solo songs and Spice songs in 2019 (lets not talk about the excessive karaoke for a min lol) and hearing her sing Free Me, Take My Breath Away and Viva Forever live showed she is totally ready for a solo gig of her own!!
But I seriously doubt she ever will, realistically. In her own words, she is 'lazy' and even around the release of My Happy Place she said she would 'do it if it is not too much work' lol I mean touring is a lot of work so...
I think it is a pitty she never did many concerts or even that many festivals specially in the Free Me era. Not talking about festivals like those summer ones where pop acts play one or two tracks only, but proper ones. If there was ever a Bunton era that totally screamed TOUR it was that one. She even mentioned she was planning one with a live orchestra but then, nada...
Anyway, you can now pre-order the book if that is up your street. It is actually called 'Mama You Got This' and it seems to be much more focused on her, with stories about her own mothering experience, so it seems like it is a bit more interesting than before... STILL Im pressed if I am going to spend money on that...
Hmmmmm I'm feeling conflicted lol. I kind of want to show support for my fave Spice Girl's first book, but obviously it's not aimed at me and fans like myself... and I clearly wouldn't be able to relate to the contents of the book / I would likely find it quite boring.
Oh, how I wish this was an autobiography instead! Oh well, I'm sure this'll be a successful venture for Emma and I'm happy that she's clearly passionate about this.
To be fair in the past I haven't always bought everything the Spice Girls have come out with... I snubbed That Extra Half an Inch and the Ugenia Lavender books.
Anyway here's more of a description about Emma's book:
That description sounds really lazy. Emma is so lazy.
Lazy Spice. #BoycottEmma #SupportGinger #FLOPSbringnoBOPS
Its certainly a project with a very target audience.
I agree that an autobiography would have made much more sense and appealed to the all round Spice fan spectrum.
Posted at the wrong topic.
I would say the most interesting thing about this is the release date. Our Bunton might be lazy but she's a smart business woman and that release date is very My happy place before SW19.
I dont think this will be much of a big commitment, a few tv interviews, Sunday paper magazine interviews and some podcast interviews is what I'm expecting.
Also Wannabe isn't the main focus for this year it's Spice.
Some disappointing news about Emma, so BMG are happy to do a distribution deal with her again but she needs to come to them with a project or music.
As much as I love Emma I just don't see her going into the studio and crafting an album of original music for a few months off her own back. It's pretty frustrating to think the solo spice with that kind of opportunity is the one I have least faith in making the most of it.
It's the sort of deal Geri has probably been fishing for for years now to get her music out and would help Melanie C not incur so many costs and make her releases a bit more professional. Sigh.
I just don't have faith Emma would commit to the time and effort crafting a proper album with original songs would take. She earns good money through her radio gig, kit and kin and now a book.
Of the girls (excluding Victoria) I'm sure Emma is the most profitable solo spice these days.
It was pretty silly of Emma not to tour in the summer of 2004. She left a lot of money on the table by not touring that summer.
I am a huge blondie fan ad their latest tour is struggling to sell , ticket prices are ridiculous. Not even close to selling out the arenas.
its weird because the 'my happy place' era was so disjointed... she seemed so happy to record the 2 originals and seemed to fall in love with making music again but then... it was a covers album. I dunno.
I hope she gets that love back that she had?
Same. That's all she needs really. The rest will follow through if she gets her mind into it!
I've no interest and won't be purchasing it!
I mean the one thing I like is they are using her YouTube channel. It's nice cross promotion.
Emmas on The One Show tonight at 7pm, primarily about Mama You Got This but no doubt theyll ask her about Spice Girls stuff
Did she say anything about SG?
Emma will block Wannabe25 announcements from happening to focus on her solo projects, won't she?
BlockSpice
LMAO
Bunton just said on This Morning that she is in talks for a show at Christmas time...
Could she be returning to Albert Hall?
Think there was a magazine or two as well, no?
Perfect do a Christmas album tie in My Happy Christmas and bobs your uncle!
Another #11 charting album for Christmas, let's goooo
But imagine Emma having five solo albums? Even if albums 4 and 5 are full of covers
Im joking by the way. I will buy it whatever music she releases. But I probably wont waste my money on another Christmas show...
New Emma song for the Christmas album: Here Comes Santa (Using the tune of Here Comes the Sun)

Id be here for an Emma 60s style Phil Spector Christmas album with winter wonderland etc on it tbh.
Emma really is building her own little empire if she can keep her finger in the music pie too. A Christmas album seems am easy obvious sell if she can sort some Xmas gigs too. Her deal with BMG is distribution, they will make and distribute an album if she takes it done to them. Her recording 10 Xmas covers and a couple of Xmas originals in a fortnight very little expense sounds doable.
Not Emma ruining Wannabe25 and blocking Feed Your Love from being released. I always knew she was the true hellbeast of the Spice Girls.
The book is released today
It seems that Emmas book reached #6 in the best sellers book chart:
Good for her 😊
Times best selling author now too, Queen Bunton wins again.
DAILY STAR: Spice Girl Emma Bunton joins RuPaul's Drag Race UK as season three judge
Spice Girl star Emma Bunton will be joining a slew of celebrity judges on the new season of RuPaul's Drag Race UK, helping to discover the most talented queen in the country.
story here: https://www.dailystar.co.uk/tv/spice-girl-emma-bunton-joins-24405190.amp?__twitter_impression=true&fbclid=IwAR3X14oW5iBdMhYMwvBrtlPC2Lis_8b6dk5oJVcoxa0lthHjspwc-idVkgI
Seems like this year's Drag Race will be much more Spicy Bunton is in the UK version and Mel C is in the All Stars version.
Let's hope their appearances are more like Jade Thirwall's than Geri Halliwell's though
Lovely to see Emma confirmed for Drag Race! Her second appearance on the franchise. And Mel C on All Stars?? Really, I haven't heard anything about that yet, but it's about damn time.
Apparently, yes. It was also, kinda, confirmed when Alan Carr mentioned he had 'seen Melanie C behind a glass screen' or something like that, aluding to the screens separating the judges in mid-pandemic Season 2.
I'm confused when is All Stars starting? Is season 3 coming first??
I dont know either lol
I just remember reading it on Spice Circle and popjustice last year.
I hope UK series of DragRace is coming Netflix Japan.
They have only Original Series and All Stars (season 4 and 5, not S3 which Emma was on ).
Emma was on Lorraine last week:
An article about her appearance on the show is here:
Broody Emma Bunton would 'love more kids' despite perimenopause diagnosis
While Emma Bunton is hopeful about expanding her family, the former Spice Girls singer recently shared her concern that it may be too late for her to conceive naturally due to her perimenopausal diagnosis

Im sure all this wanting a baby suddenly has nothing to do with her book promo 🙄
I think she has no intention of having another baby tbh. She's getting on for 50
Maybe she wants to have a girl, since she already has two boys.
Emma has posted that she is married ❤️
Omg she looks gorgeous.
Congratulations to them both
Gorgeous couple thought they would never do it haha
Better late than never.
Did the girls attend the wedding?
Oh wow! Congratulations to them both. Emma looks stunning
That was a very long time coming, apparently they first became engaged in 2011! Took me completely by surprise that they've finally got married.
Good for them, and what a gorgeous couple!
So happy for them
Lovely news, congrats Emma!
How wonderful for them 😍
Congratulations to Baby and Jade, finally. What a couple! I bet Covid made them realize a lot of things.
Love she went for her signature baby doll type dress, it suited her so much and she looked stunning.
Congratulations Emma and Jade.
She looked stunning and represented her baby image with style and elegance.
Was the album free Me ever in streaming or iTunes plus. I feel it never was. Such a shame
Warning: There's mild RuPaul's Drag Race UK spoilers below.
It's that time of year again, Santa Baby is on 3 playlists and up to #4 on her most popular list behind the 3 A girl like me singles.
You can see why she keeps talking about another Christmas show or album. It's not massive streams but then it's zero effort to get the bump each year.
Her listeners are up to 260k too highest I've seen them.
Happy birthday to Emma, she's 46 today!
And she was wondering if she was gonna be Baby Spice at 30? Happy Birthday R Baby!
Hosted
^ agreed , i am sure they would have let her sing if she wanted
Yeah she could be performing!
2 become 1
Let's be honest Emma would be doing well to be invited to perform on This Morning let alone a prine time tv concert. I love them but as solo artists or celebrities the girls are basically D-listers.
^ exactly
