Blossoms for number 1 Album unless there is a surprise release or a price reduction for one of the Other contenders?

Blossoms for number 1 Album unless there is a surprise release or a price reduction for one of the Other contenders? Looks like Partynextdoor release of "P3" qualifies as a surprise release that is riding high on ITunes at the moment and has been highly anticipated ( there is even a Drake association as well) but will it have enough to get to the top overall? |

Singles
http://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singles-chart-update/ Albums http://www.officialcharts.com/charts/albums-chart-update/ ============ Just a temporary post for now. Cold Water by Major Lazer, Justin Bieber and MO is currently on track for a fourth consecutive week at the summit, with DJ Snake and Justin Bieber’s Let Me Love You trailing them at 2 by just 3,000 combined sales in the middle of its second week on the Official Chart. ELO are just 500 copies ahead. Source: OCC |

It's definitely a low sales week for albums with ELO back to number 1 on sales of 3,149 with the number 2 - the excellent album by Blossoms - selling 2,921 copies. I doubt any album will sell over 10,000 copies this week.

A quick update on sales for singles until Martin posts more info...
1 Cold Water 30,509 2 Let Me Love You 26,930 3 Dancing On My Own 13,395 4 Closer 16,005 ( a Music Week error as this should be at number 3 on these sales, I guess the sales for numbers 3 and 4 are the wrong way around) |

I doubt any album will sell over 10,000 copies this week. I was fearing this. Would be a great opportunity for someone to drop an album, like Beyonce did when I believe Sia was on track to sell just over 8k at #1 (and then of course Prince's death ensured some more albums would sell over 10k that week). |

It seems to be the Olympics effect once again! Jessica Ennis (she came close to getting Gold once again!) and Mo Farah seem to do it every 4 years. Well, they've won medals in two consecutive Olympics which have both coincided with dreadful album sales - plus Andy Murray too!

This is why I'm not a fan of sport. If no-one releases a surprise album, I can totally see Drake being #1 this week. He usually climbs a handful of places from the Monday Update so, if he is already at #3, he should have no trouble getting back to the top spot. |
