I think Jack Savoretti is more famous than Tame Impala in the UK, TBH.

Yes that's one of the few sensible suggestions in the thread so far. tongue.gif Outrageous he hasn't had a top 40 hit yet.

There will be plenty of classical/opera artists that sell albums but not singles too, like Alfie Boe.

Go and ask random people on festival or bar if they know songs by Imogen Heap, they probably won't.

I'm still rooting for Tame Impala as they have three songs over 100M listens on Spotify.

But the word "famous" in the topic is tricky because obviously there are very famous artists and people that have never touched the singles chart.

I would say everyone would recognise the song (and prob be like is this a Jason derulo sample lol) but the average person wouldn't know the singer.

10,000 Maniacs / Natalie Merchant , one of my faves , sadly never got a Top 40 Single from Tigerlily or from her previous career with 10,000 Maniacs (highest peaking Single was #47).

I feel skeptical of Tame Impala ever having a charting single even in just the top 100 though.

I stand corrected laugh.gif
