The BBC haven't bothered to update the albums chart yet again so the commentary is a bit late. However it is now up on the front page and the latest news box.

'Great Divide' is Twin Atlantic's 3rd album (and 2nd top 40 album), not their debut.

The OCC are saying that 'Lovers On The Sun' is David Guetta's 5th No.1 Single. They are not counting
his No.1 with Flo Rida in 2010 - 'Club Can't Handle Me'. That is because he was 'Featured' on that one.

I do count that as a David Guetta No.1. As long as an Artist is credited on a No.1 Hit they are entitled
to have it counted as one of their No.1's.

If you look, you will see that The OCC give Rihanna 8 No.1 Hits, even though she was 'only' the 'Featured'
Artist on 2 of those - 'Run This Town' - Jay-Z Featuring Rihanna And Kanye West, (2009), & 'The Monster'
- Eminem Featuring Rihanna (2013).

It is terribly inconsistent if The OCC count some 'Featured' Artist No.1's as belonging to each credited Act,
but do not do so with other Acts No.1's that they are credited on.....just because they are 'Featured'.

It's not exactly the first time the OCC have been inconsistent laugh.gif

I think they probably just forgot about that one. I don't think they ever intentionally exclude featured #1s from an artist's count of #1s.

If they had a properly constructed database that wouldn't be an issue.

Their current database is practically unusable, if you search for 'david guetta' it comes up with a load of results, one of them is just 'David Guetta' but that only lists his album chart entries. His singles chart entries are all listed under 'David Guetta Featuring Sia'. (This includes 'Club Can't Handle Me' for the record)

Oh and for some reason the recent re-entry of 'Nothing But The Beat' (9-46-x) has been listed as 'Nothing But The Beat Ultimate' in their chart database, despite the fact it was clearly marked as a re-entry for 'Nothing But The Beat' both in the chart as it was posted and in the archive. wacko.gif

That's the problem. It seems pretty clear that their database does not allow for multiple credits for a single release. One of my dream jobs would be to go into the OCC, look at their database and sort out how to improve it. They could probably sort out most of the problems without too much difficulty (for example, splitting A feat. B) but they just don't seem to have the will (or the budget).
