I’m actually shocked at that #1!

For some reason I thought it would be her fourth best seller with Nothing Breaks Like A Heart #1 then the two #1 tracks from Bangerz tracks at 2 and 3.

Its mad to think 'Party in the USA' was originally for a Wal'Mart EP and not meant to be the giant hit it's turned into...

Posted by: Bjork 17th August 2020, 02:15 PM

also a Jessie J reject biggrin.gif

Posted by: Bré 17th August 2020, 04:15 PM

And also a terrible song xx

Posted by: Jαsє 17th August 2020, 04:23 PM

The fact 'Slide Away' isn't in the top 10 is a travesty drama.gif

Posted by: UltraFolklore 17th August 2020, 04:40 PM

omg slay Party In The USA *.* it's really turned into an all-time classic wub.gif I was def expecting all of #2-#4 ahead of it ohmy.gif

fly on the wall deserves better, a BANGER

Posted by: M4NGO 17th August 2020, 04:47 PM

She really is the queen of #11s isn't she?

'See You Again' remains an all-time classic wub.gif

Posted by: Wall 17th August 2020, 04:47 PM

Wrecking ball and we can’t stop really missed the streaming era, both would have been even bigger tbh! Party In The USA is always entering the top 200 so it doesn’t surprise me!

Is there any sales for it?

party in the USA 1.04m
nothing breaks like a heart 984,000
wrecking ball 968,000
we can't stop 902,000
malibu 748,000
the climb 673,000
don't call me angel 268,000
see you again 203,000
can't be tamed 121,000

Posted by: Wall 17th August 2020, 04:54 PM

The climb deserves better.

Damn I’m guessing Miley will have three more million sellers this year!

Posted by: LJ JORD 7 17th August 2020, 04:55 PM

Wrecking Ball should become a millionaire soon then as should Nothing Breaks Like A Heart.

Wrecking Ball is my personal fave by her.

I remember pre Bangerz era it was so frustrating seeing her get that #11 three times! Then she went straight for the number one twice in a row. She really either misses top ten or goes top 2 as her other three top ten hits all peaked at #2!

and all the #2 songs being collabs as well! (and her only 3 collaborations to go top 40 iirc too) laugh.gif her chart history is something else

A quirky chart history for sure!

Imagine if Midnight Sky goes to #11 in a few weeks laugh.gif an artist having three #2s and four #11s though the queen of near misses.

She could’ve been on 5 #1s and 9 top tens potentially if they’d all just went one position higher.

Don't Call Me Angel did kind of bad all things considering? You'd think it would be a bigger hit with the names on it plus being released in the streaming era... then again, the movie bombed.

Also, didn't they count On A Roll since it was released under Ashley O?

Updated: https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/miley-cyruss-biggest-songs-on-the-official-uk-chart__19032/

20 PLASTIC HEARTS MILEY CYRUS 2020 96

I expect 'Feelin' Myself', 'Don't Call Me Angel' and '23' dropping out from 7, 9 & 17 last time respectively are oversights, due to the shortened OCC credit of "CYRUS" on each.

Glad Angles Like You made her top 20, definitely deserved better on the charts.

Posted by: JackTheeStallion 11th January 2023, 11:01 PM

Slide Away is her absolute best and I won't hear otherwise, so underrated.

"Adore You" which is probably her worst has no place in the Top 10.

Posted by: Brer 12th January 2023, 01:57 AM

Ngl I totally forgot her cover of 'Heart Of Glass' existed let alone that it made the top 40! 'Angels Like You' still too low. :'(

This is largely a pretty good collection of songs (even 'Hoedown Throwdown' is a guilty pleasure) but I really can't stand 'Party In The U.S.A.' - I see I already moaned about this in the earlier iteration of this article lol - so it's ergh that remains at the top of the list.

Posted by: One_For_Sorrow 12th January 2023, 03:09 AM

Hopefully Nothing Breaks Like A Heart can go past Party In The USA soon.

Posted by: Jessie Where 12th January 2023, 10:58 AM

'Angels Like You' deserved to be a massive modern classic. sad.gif

Ooooh at 'Midnight's Guy' being sandwiched between the two 2013 #1s now!

Posted by: Liam.k. 12th January 2023, 05:50 PM

'Party in the USA' definitely feels like it's emerged as Miley's 'signature' song. I love her more recent music but can't deny 'Party in the USA' is an anthem and it's always such a crowd pleaser. It was certified 2x Platinum (1.2m) in May 2021 so is still shifting an average of 4.3k chart sales per week!

Posted by: Jessie Where 12th January 2023, 07:08 PM

I hated it at the time, but love it now laugh.gif

It definitely is though I'd say, whenever that's played on a night out everyone goes mental and knows it word for word.

PIT USA is actually the most streamed song in the UK released in 2009!

I love it along with See you again from that era
