BuzzJack Music Forum _ UK Charts _ Do you listen to songs 10 times a day?

Posted by: vidcapper 23rd December 2015, 10:19 AM

Given that this is the limit that'll count towards the chart iro streaming, I just wondered if it actually happened much?

Obviously it'll very depending on the specific track/artist, but I'm thinking in general terms...

If I really like a track, I can easily listen to it over and over again in one day, however I don't stream music so I don't have any effect on the streaming data.

Very interesting thread!

I've not listened to as much music as I used to when I walked to school but now I have college I just don't feel like listening to music in the car sad.gif it's mostly just my chart I make 2 times a week that I listen to music but I stream albums occasionally. I'm starting to make a habit of listening on iTunes while doing work recently so I could consider myself an actual music listener again kink.gif

I'd never listen to a song this often, especially if it's one I really like, as it'd rapidly become 'stale'.

Posted by: Mistle-Tony 23rd December 2015, 10:47 AM

No - four or 5 times tops for a song that I am excited about.

Posted by: Bjork 23rd December 2015, 10:50 AM

max 3 if i'm excited about a song, don't think anybody does

Posted by: Danta Claus 23rd December 2015, 10:52 AM

Never. Very rarely do I play a song more than twice per day really.

Posted by: Xmas Tree Boy 23rd December 2015, 10:56 AM

Never. Simply don't have the time to listen to a song 10'times in one week. And I couldn't care less about manipulating the charts.

Posted by: gooddelta 23rd December 2015, 10:57 AM

No, I rarely play a song more than once a day. Partly because I don't want to 'wear it out' and partly because there's SO much new and old music I always want to listen to that I don't want to devote my time to just one song.

In my case, I like very little of today's new music, but fortunately there's decades of old music to choose from. smile.gif

if i'm in a certain emotional state and i have a ~connection~ to a song, you can be sure it'll be on repeat for at least three hours : )

Posted by: liamk97 23rd December 2015, 11:56 AM

There's definitely been songs that have been freshly released and I've instantly loved and played numerous times, but 10 is a bigger number than it seems in terms of listening to a 3-5 minute song, so no, I don't think I've listened to a song 10 times a day.

Posted by: Cremey 23rd December 2015, 12:08 PM

I listen to songs more than 10 times a day every day... I'll always have a playlist of songs I'm obsessed with and have that on repeat when working. If I'm really liking something I can easily have it on repeat for a good hour without being bored of it haha.

Edit: I don't ever stream, so it wouldn't be affecting the charts anyway.

Posted by: osker 23rd December 2015, 12:14 PM

Like Cremey, I have a playlist of new songs that I listen to while working, so it can happen, albeit rarely.

Posted by: pes 23rd December 2015, 12:20 PM

there have been songs I have listened more than 20 times per day..I actually tend to listen a bunch of 20-25 songs per day multiple times depending on how much I like the song (from 3 to 15 plays per song)

Posted by: Lee_J11 23rd December 2015, 12:25 PM

Maybe not 'Never' but probably not as much as 'Occasionally'.

I would say maybe like once or twice a year if that. Went for Never in the poll though.

With regards to Spotify, I did it once to help Cheryl's Crazy Stupid Love laugh.gif away from that, I often hear songs more than 10 times a day, often when they first premiere. I heard 1D's Drag Me Down 100 times on its first day of release laugh.gif

Not very often tbh, maybe if the song is brand new or a BJSC entry of mine that I like a lot. The last time I did it was my last BJSC entry and maybe Adele. Otherwise, around 4-6.

On days like today I can easily go through an entire playlist of 10 songs multiple times. So yes.

Posted by: Tombo 23rd December 2015, 05:44 PM

No way, I listen to songs naturally. The only chart I try to manipulate is my own year-end chart as ai am trying to give a few songs better positions lol

I think my most-streamed song of the week has 24 plays and that is 3OH!3 - My Dick. I don't think I could listen to a song 10 times a day

Posted by: Envoirment 23rd December 2015, 05:50 PM

Yes, if there's new music out by one of my favourite artists I can easily listen to a song 10 times+ in a day (I listened to a song over 100 times in a day once oops). Plus when they release an album, I generally have it on repeat for a week or two - so rack up 10+ plays of the album in full everyday really.

I don't just sit there doing nothing though, normally listen to music while browsing forums/playing games/studying or on my commute to uni.

Posted by: SLlewellyn 23rd December 2015, 06:22 PM

Never. If a song really catches my attention/fancy, I'll listen to it maximum 5 times in one day. Can't think of a time when I've really listened to something more than that.

Posted by: SKOB 23rd December 2015, 07:37 PM

I think I listened to Hello at least 10 times.. and No Sleeep. But it's rare.

Posted by: SmileyKylie 23rd December 2015, 09:56 PM

Anyone could put a song on repeat x 10 every day or 10 songs on repeat 10 times a day and just turn volume off not even using Spotify ..... very easy for fan groups to manipulate

So she said that if you take the Orange out from the Jaffa cake then all of the other people will be like 'ooh don't dp that agian otherwise daniel will only eat the peanuts', who even said that striped curtains would be suitable anyway... Not in Cheshire anyway.

Posted by: UltraChristmas 24th December 2015, 10:31 AM

Yeah easily, if I love the song I can easily listen to it more than 10 times heart.gif

I listened to Shake It Off about 150 times the day it came out (I remember I did at least 5 hours in a row!). Also did Bad Blood Remix & Lighthouse for about 3/4 hours in a row and listen to loads more than 10 times a day!
Most recent example is probably You Don't Own Me which I listened to about 10 times a couple of days ago heart.gif
