Norwich duo Let's Eat Grandma are the fourth female artist in 2018 to make it #1, and swiftly secure a second week in pole position with the incredibly catchy “Falling Into Me” - whilst previous hit “Hot Pink” ebbs 33-40 on its fifteenth week on the listing having peaked at #3 in March. The duo - teenagers Jenny Hollingworth and Rosa Walton - are named after a grammatical joke used to emphasise the importance of comma placement and are on the cusp of releasing their second album following 2016s cult hit I, Gemini with I'm All Ears set for release at the end of June on Transgressive Records. Moving up for a seventh consecutive week into the runners-up slot is Toronto pop singer Seth Nyquist, aka MorMor with debut single “Heaven’s Only Wishful”, ending the 5-week Top 2 residency by Jon Hopkins' former #1 “Emerald Rush” which now bows 2-3.

There are some promising climbs in the Top 10 from New Yorkers Bodega (also with a debut hit) - and the rousing art-pop anthem “How Did This Happen !?” which jumps 10-5 this week. Azealia Banks makes a welcome return to the Top 10 for the first time since “Chasing Time” in January 2015 with the clubby “Anna Wintour” moving from 15-8 and in the process becoming her third Top 10 hit. Her biggest hit remains her debut, 2012s “212” which went to #4 in February 2012. “Fists Of Fury”, a nearly 10-minute epic Jazz track with shifting instrumentation and revolutionary undertones rising within its vocals, is the debut hit from 37 year-old saxophonist and producer Kamasi Washington and steps up 13-10 this week.

There are just five new entries in the chart this week; the highest comes from a long overdue return from Sheffield's Arctic Monkeys with “Four Out Of Five” debuting at 36 despite only being debuted on Friday with the release of 6th studio album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino - their first since 2013s critical and commercial success AM. Childish Gambino returns with a brand new single - the first since Top 10 hit “Redbone” in December 2016 - the gritty “This Is America” which stars at 38 - helped by its excellent video directed by Hiro Murai. Two further returns to the chart are below with Hatchie and Janelle Monáe debuting at 48 and 49 with “Sleep” and “PYNK” respectively; both follow previous Top 10 hits which are still on the chart, these are “Sure” (down eleven to 33, peaked at #9) for Hatchie and former-#1 “Make Me Feel” by Janelle Monáe which gently slides 7-11 this week. The final new entry at 46 is a chart debut for Los Angeles group The Internet, “Roll (Burbank Funk)” is the first single taken from an as-yet-untitled forthcoming album.
