Not sure if there's rules of how far in advance you can open a movie thread, but some exciting news regarding the 24th Bond film was revealed today.
Oscar-winning Django Unchained star Christoph Waltz has been confirmed to play the role of Ernst Stavro Blofeld!! http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/news/a6...-returning.html |

Can't wait for this. Didn't realise a release date had been set – was saying to a friends just this weekend that I hoped there would be a new Bond film soon! Christoph Waltz is a marvellous actor so I'm sure he'll not tarnish the character.

I think it's release date has only recently been officially confirmed - I think it may have had an estimated date of September, then pushed back to December before the present date.
Less than a year to wait now! It's going to be a mammoth task living up to Skyfall but with Sam Mendes returning as director and Christoph Waltz having a main role (who my mum says is brilliant) shows very good signs. I'm excited as ever to know who will be singing the Bond theme - I heard a lot wanted Adele to return but I'd like someone else to have a chance first. |

I have really high hopes for it and like you say, it had better not be a letdown after how great Skyfall was.!Quantum of Solace was so disappointing after Casino Royale so hopefully it won't be a similar situation with this one. I'd rather a different artist sang the theme tune too, Adele did a great job with Skyfall but it would be great for someone else to be given the opportunity.

Agreed, Quantum of Solace was a bit of a let down. I found it didn't have a strong enough plot and it seemed to be too much of a sequel to Casino Royale whereas all the other Bond films worked as stand alone films. I remember being a bit lost/bored when watching in the cinema and my opinion hasn't really changed that much since.
I haven't a clue who I would like to do the next Bond theme. There's been so many who have had Bond-esque songs or voices that would suit a powerful Bond theme but none of those names are coming to me! I'm sure whoever it is will do a great job though. |

Never heard of Christoph Waltz, but I'm looking forward to the new movie, the latest I heard title wise "Devil May Care", I think the title was dropped. I do agree with Quantum of Solace was not the best, Skyfall will be difficult to top. I wouldn't be surprised if Sam Smith will be approached for the title track, but I wouldn't mind an Indie act to take the helm for once, Florence & The Machine would be a firm favourite with me.

Yeah, Sam Smith came to my mind as someone who may be approached, or perhaps Emeli Sande since she's releasing a new album in 2015. How a Bond theme would work for them though, I'm not sure. Florence + the Machine on the other hand, I could definitely see perform a successful Bond theme. |

Mikey have you never seen Inglorious Basterds or Django Unchained!? Christopher Waltz is fabulous casting if true. Could definitely see him being nominated for Best Supporting Actor by the Academy... |

QUOTE Bond 24 title revealed as Spectre, Christoph Waltz joins cast By Emma Dibdin Thursday Dec 4 2014 The next James Bond film will be titled Spectre. Christoph Waltz will play a character named Oberhauser in the Sam Mendes-directed film, which will see Daniel Craig star as Bond for the fourth time. The rest of the new cast includes Léa Seydoux (Blue Is the Warmest Colour) as Madeleine Swann, Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra, Guardians of the Galaxy's David Bautista as Mr Hinx and Sherlock star Andrew Scott as Denbigh. Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Rory Kinnear will reprise their roles from Skyfall. "A cryptic message from Bond's past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation," reads the official plot synopsis from EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment. "While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE." In an announcement from Pinewood Studios on Thursday morning (December 4), Mendes confirmed that the movie will shoot in London, Rome, Mexico City, Morocco and Austria. Mendes also revealed Bond's sleek new Aston Martin, the DB10, created exclusively for Spectre. Principal photography on Spectre will start this Monday (December 8). There have been strong rumours in recent weeks that Academy Award winner Waltz could be playing a classic villain from the Bond canon. Spectre will be released on November 6, 2015 in cinemas around the world. Liking the new Bond car! *.* |

Monica Bellucci is still so fit. Took me a while to twig where I recognised her from - she is unbelievable for her age!
Great cast list. I don wonder if Bautista will be playing Jaws. Or not. |

Great cast, loving the title, got a gut feeling that won't be the title track for the theme though, they might end up going the same route as Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, Spectre doesn't really stick out as a song title.
Screen poster, its probably not official yet |

Was expected! I'm sure that won't please many but it wouldn't just be a piano ballad if its for a Bond theme. I'm a fan of his anyway so I'd definitely welcome him taking on a Bond song.

Teaser trailer is now out there.
Not big on the James Bond films at all though, personally. Although Christoph Waltz is REALLY reeling me in to watching this one. |

Seen the trailer for this at the beginning of F&F7, its looking good, very impressive, I really can't wait, I knew it was going to be a tough act to follow Skyfall, looks like they have exceeded that.
I can't see Daniel Craig carried on though after his fifth outing, you can see he is ageing quite a bit. I think he is only committed to another Bond movie though after Spectre. |

Okay so the premiere of Spectre is now 26 October in London and will be released in cinemas the same day: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/news/a6...~piZ7MK4wUkkkeI
We've apparently not got long to find out who is singing the new Bond theme. Ellie Goulding is the #1 favourite atm: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a65...~piZ7tKONyUoWlg |
