That INDIIA songs come out of nowhere tbh, I've had it on my playlist for a week or so after seeing it on the Summer Hits UK playlist, quite a tune, wouldn't mind it being a hit.

Loving IINDIA - Out Of Love. Such a summer tune, I've also noticed it's front page on Hot Songs on Apple Music. Hoping it can become a decent hit!

Instruction isn't getting a boost just because it isn't featured on Hot Songs and it is right at the bottom of the 59p songs section so no-one actually knows it is 59p unless they really go searching for it. sad.gif

Hopefully it'll get a better featured spot at some point!

No because you'd think a song with a former 1D member, who currently has a big hit out there and an artist who recently had a big top 10 would be higher by now, maybe flop is a bit strong but I think it might underperform.

Posted by: Rob Spears Jul 8 2017, 10:11 AM

Looks like 'Feels' will overtake 'Wild Thoughts' soon.

I think this Release is another wise one for Liam in the context of establishing him as a Solo Artist with longevity, he is appearing with a lot of credible artists so far (Quavo, Ed and Zedd 😐 ) and the fact he appears not to be the lead Artist this time will probably mean he will get another Single out before the Album.

Posted by: Court Jul 8 2017, 03:46 PM

Second singles almost never do as well in the beginning as lead singles. Not to mention that this is actually Zedds single, not Liam's so I don't think it's a sure sign of a flop that this only made it to 10 and almost two days later is at 11

That Indiia song has good verses but is ruined by the silly pitched vocals chorus which was probably designed to sound cute but I just find a bit annoying. Can we please stop with the pitched vocal choruses in music now!

I think the 2 things propelling CHFL up the charts this week is the 59p price tag and it having been named the official London Pride 2017 anthem - and that was at the weekend.

Impressive stuff, should hit the top 10 assuming there's no sudden stop on the way!

Strange to think this is Demi's first On Air/On Sale lead single, Cool For The Summer was one of the very last before they were phased out! I was expecting low top 20 iTunes peak for this initially, a little bit higher than what (I think) Selena got here (Demi seems to consistently be more of a thing here than Selena) - so this is outdoing my expectations.

I've got this to, the banner at the top has changed and there's no dots after the numbers, it looks weird, don't really see the point in having it on featured tbh

It's weird because it was supported as a track of the weekend AND week for R1 so it really looked like it was gearing up for some support, I suppose if it's not playlisted this Friday, it won't be. It's possible they were planning to playlist it and got cold feet.

It's very strange how Selena has seemingly outsold/outpeaked Demi everywhere on her first day except for here. It always happens for some reason that Demi gets higher initial peaks and higher album chart peaks, Demi just has that bigger fanbase here. Both of them are doing impressively, just interesting how the UK is the only place where Demi outperforms Selena on release day.

Demi has pandered to the UK like no other Disney girl has.
Partly thanks to Simon Cowell's connections from X Factor USA.

She released platinum-certified Up with Olly Murs, who's pretty much a UK-exclusive artist and performed it at the X Factor finale, which is massive promo.
Released #4 peaking Somebody To You with The Vamps, also a UK-exclusive act.

X Factor spammed her old single Skyscraper for an entire season on the show, which saw it re-peaking at #7 in the UK and then it was also covered by Sam Bailey to be the winning single, which went #1.
#3 solo hit Heart Attack got Britain's Got Talent promo thanks to Simon.

Capital also loves her ever since her cover of Ed Sheeran's Give Me Love got 14,272,556 on their YouTube Channel.
She even included it on the Deluxe edition of her album DEMI as ""Give Me Love" (Live at the Capital FM Studios in London, UK / May 30, 2014) (Ed Sheeran cover)", which would've got them some coins too.

And even though it only peaked at #80, she made an entire music video for Remember December, just to release it as a UK-exclusive single.

Posted by: Joe. Jul 13 2017, 08:19 PM

Feels (!!) seems like it's performing similarly to How Deep is Your Love! It'll be at least as big as My Way at least. It's going to be big holiday song for a lot of people.

There's always this myth (or truth?) that the UK embrace pure pop music more than other countries (including the US), so I guess Demi's music has been more pure pop than Selena's (post Stars Dance). People use this myth to explain why Carly's most successful market seems to be here these days.

Selena seems to generally sell better and have better longevity, like Same Old Love peaked at sth like #81 and still went silver, plus Good For You and Hands To Myself both went gold and It Ain't Me went platinum. Demi has the bigger fanbase I feel but Selena appeals more to the casual buyers so sticks around well.

Demi has the most hits, the highest peaks and the highest sales, but Selena gets the most streams.
Demi's two longest charting songs are 37 and 27 weeks respectively, compared to Selena's 26 and 25 weeks.
