We've had lots of serious discussion regarding the upcoming May General Election in this forum, so let's have a little bit light hearted "fun".
At each General Election, there's usually a few high-profile MPs who end up losing their seat. In 2010 we saw former Cabinet Ministers Charles Clarke and Jacqui Smith, and Northern Ireland First Minister Peter Robinson being voted out, and in 1997 a large raft of high profile Tories (the most prominent one being Michael Portillo) ended up being de-seated. Which brings us on to 2015 - who do you think will be the highest profile political scalp at the General Election in May? There's been a lot of talk around Nick Clegg possibly losing his Sheffield seat, but will there be any other big "Portillo moments" to be had? Ready, set, speculate! |

Nick Clegg
Danny Alexander Vince Cable Nigel Farage (not certain but there's a big chance he could miss out) Basically any prominent Scottish Labour MPs (hopefully not including Jim Murphy, insh'allah) Anna Soubry |

Esther McVey and her fake Scouse accent has a decent chance of being booted out.

According to firstpastthepost.net, the bookies disagree. I suspect Clegg will hold on but Danny Alexander will lose. Of the Tory Cabinet ministers, Nicky Morgan must be one of the most vulnerable. Of the junior ministers, Anna Soubry should lose but she is hardly high-profile. Her performance on QT last week was awful. |

The bookies may disagree but it doesn't mean there isn't any chance of him losing it! The Tories had their biggest gains in Twickenham last year.
Nicky Morgan is vulnerable, but she's currently polling ahead of Labour in Loughborough - the Tories do a lot of work locally, and as the student population goes it's egregiously Tory (mostly down to being a lot of Sports Science students whose parents could afford specialist training). |

Cable should probably be saved by the fact he's pretty much the only Lib Dem still in any way well-regarded (well, nationally, don't know if he is in his constituency).

Every mainland LibDem in Scotland is losing their seat.
Would just love to see Jim Murphy lose his seat though. That'd be spectacular and fitting. |

If Clegg and McVey go, I can deal with pretty much anything.

The Tories are planning to announce plans to make significant cuts to Inheritance Tax on a person's main home. The Guardian quote a "government source" as saying "This looks like a policy to buy more Tory votes to help the wealthy and would be highly regressive in its impact on society". Who else thinks that the "government source" is Vince Cable? |

Who else thinks that the "government source" is Vince Cable? Me, and if there were any justice in the world (there isn't) Cable would be last man standing in a wholesale clearout of MP's of all parties, starting with all liars, 2nd jobbers, hypocrites, line-toe-ers, cliche-pushers, and anyone using the phrase hard-working families. That should be all of them then... |

You can bet your house that BBC, ITV and Sky will ALL show that Declaration live! Given that they have shown the party leaders' counts live in every election for decades, that is hardly a brave prediction. They will show it, even if polls in the campaign show that Clegg is set to win easily. |

This is getting me really excited for election night it's a 12 hourer for me every 5 years. I'm in my living room with a 6 pack of lucozade sand supplies for the whole night just in time for the exit polls and stick with it until 9am the following morning - love it lol

If there was any justice it would be Iain Duncan Smith - he's such an arrogant bas***d.
Just laughs at the poor. I'd love to slap him with a wet fish. |

Another Hallam poll has Labour ahead (by two points now, compared to 3 in November) with both contenders squeezing the Green and Tory votes considerably. Clegg's future is on a knife edge.
