My ranking would be:

1 Eddie Redmayne
2 Leonardo DiCaprio
3 Matt Damon
4 Michael Fassbender
(Not seen: Trumbo)

These nominees were all really strong this year, I think Redmayne may have had a better chance if he hadn't won the year before. He was my favourite performance as you can tell he put thought into every movement. Leo was good but probably not his best role, the film was a bit long for me but he was definitely the best thing about it. Matt Damon was loads of fun in The Martian, he was perfect for the role and it was nice to see a more comedic performance ger nominated. Fassbender was very good too and he nailed the Steve Jobs mannerisms but I just preferred the others this year.

I don't want to discredit Bryan Cranston without seeing his film but I'd have loved for Johnny Depp to have taken his spot, it's the first time I've been wowed by him, he was terrifying in Black Mass. I liked Will Smith in Concussion a lot too so it would've been nice for him to sneak in as well. Really, Jacob Tremblay should have been nominated (and won !!) here but he was pushed in supporting (still should've been nominated and won though, Mark Rylance << Jacob Tremblay).

Incredibly weak year, they'd all be in last place for me if they were competing in this years Oscars!

Will do a bigger ocommentary later!

Only seen Matt from the bunch and while he was good, he wasn't Oscar worthy.

Can't actually think of who I'd want to win or be nominated instead of some of these guys laugh.gif

1. Michael Fassbender - Steve Jobs
2. Eddie Redmayne - The Danish Girl
3. Matt Damon - The Martian
4. Leonardo Di Caprio - The Revenant
(And I am about 95% sure that if I was to see Trumbo, Cranston would slot into 5th)

Fassbender was the best but wasn't Oscar winner worthy. Redmayne was like 7th for me for the year. Damon shouldn't have been nominated. And Leo was OK in The Revenant but he has done so much better, however though saying that I was rooting for Leo to win as there was no standout performance here and he really deserved to be a multiple Oscar winner by this point!! (Titanic, the wolf of Wall Street and I love him in the departed also!)

My nominees for 2015:
1. Tom Hanks - Bridge Of Spies
2. Jacob Tremblay - Room
3. Michael B. Jordan - Creed
4. Michael Fassbender - Steve Jobs
5. Oscar Isaac or Domnhall Gleeson - Ex_Machina

Just missing out:
Tom Hardy - Mad Max
Eddie Redmayne - The Danish Girl
Trainwreck - Bill Hader
The Longest Ride - Scott Eastwood

The top 3 are easily ahead of the pack for me! Scott would also be in my top 5 but I am trying to keep this a little realistic at least!
