Since the first lockdown MOTD have been putting their podcasts on bbc 1 and I would highly recommend them to any football fans as they produce really good discussion and are good craic to watch too.

Lastnyts episode was top 10 partnerships and the list was something like this

Cole/Yorke
Bergkamp/Henry
Rooney/Ronaldo
Sutton/Shearer
Suarez/Sturridge
Salah/Mane
Aguero/Silva
Hasselbaink/Gudjohnson
Quinn/Phillips
Kane/Son

The above aren’t in order what do you think?

I think Gerrard/Torres is another one that’s up there.

Gerrard and Torres was lethal, but it was also absolutely hampered by both of them being injured and also if there isn't a defining moment of the partnership, I think if Macheda hadn't popped up then it would be remembered in a much higher esteem. Biased again, but Owen/Heskey was an underrated partnership too.

Weird really as 'striker partnerships' are a bit of an old school thing, I think the closest thing we have had of recent times is Son/Kane. Of those listed though I'd probably say Cole/Yorke and Bergkamp/Henry are the most iconic ones.

Bergkamp is my favourite ever premier league player and I’m a Liverpool fan 😂. Remember falling out with my wife when I showed her his goal vs Newcastle and she said he didn’t mean it 🤣

Steve you should try listening to some of the other podcasts out there, I like the MOTD stuff sometimes as it is so simple but their level of punditry and insight is terrible at times - a 10 year old could have picked those players to light up the Euros!

Have you ever tried listening to the Guardian Football Weekly? It's a great mix of insight, punditry and banter. Definitely the best football podcast out there imo.

I really don’t have time to listen to podcasts with all I do I listen to music all the time when commuting and really enjoy these MOTD top 10s as they can be watched on tv.

Yes this one was rather simplistic but it was also going to be given what it was, it wasn’t even a real top 10 more a discussion of the runners and riders. The other top 10s were great craic though especially the chemistry between Gary, Alan and Miciah!
