The 1975’s "If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know)" remains at #1 for the second week in a row. However Diodato’s "Fai Rumore", which gained to #2 and Michael Patrick Kelly’s "Beautiful Madness", which debuts very high at #3 are huge contenders for next week’s #1. Also, big contenders are the new entries to the top 10: Tom Grennan’s "Oh Please" at #6, The Roop’s "On Fire" at #7 and CHVRCHES’s "Keep You On My Side" at #10. In total, there are 15 debuts and 2 re-entries.

My current #1: The 1975 - If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know): (Highest New Entry)

Here are my new entries this week with video links and some information to those new entries!

3. Michael Patrick Kelly - Beautiful Madness:

Sun for the ears - this is how you can describe the new single "Beautiful Madness" by Michael Patrick Kelly. The perfect mood for summer. It's light, airy pop with a hint of reggae.

14. Mark Forster - Übermorgen:

Mark Forster writes more personally than ever, reflects his own existence as a person in relationships and in the world. He is inspired and inspired by everything that happens around him - and by the sound of his childhood, by eurythmics, A-ha and Depeche Mode. How well all of this harmonizes in the end is demonstrated by the day after tomorrow, full of self-confidence and with new artistic precision. A thoughtful hymn to the now and at the same time a beaming look into the future - with "all the dreams and all the worries".

19. Destiny & B-OK - All Of My Love:

This was Malta's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest this year. The song opens with Destiny remembering the tough times, but hinting that she’s moved past them. With its toe-tapping rhythm and gospel undertone, the song builds beautifully and gives Destiny plenty of space to show off that voice. And when she belts it out she seems to sing with the power of the Almighty, letting her beloved — or maybe a higher being — know that she’s grateful for the freedom he gives her.

28. Lil Uzi Vert - Baby Pluto:

The title of this song (“Baby Pluto”) is actually the name of one of Lil Uzi Vert’s alter egos. This song is centered on money, women and certainly violence. Owing to this, it is actually the normal Lil Uzi Vert fare. But if there’s one characteristic of this track that makes it different from others he has dropped is that the rapper can be said to be going at it extra hard, especially in terms of violence and his affairs with women.

29. Live Lounge Allstars - Times Like These (BBC Radio 1 Stay Home Live Lounge):

In April 2020, BBC Radio 1 organized "the biggest ever Live Lounge," with a multitude of artists gathered in their homes to cover The Foo's Fighters' 2002 song "Times Like These" in support of the global effort to stay safe and stay home during 2020 coronavirus crisis.

40. Little Mix - Break Up Song:

"Break Up Song" is a defiant synth-pop anthem about getting over a relationship. The Little Mix girls celebrate their independence from their deadbeat exes during a night out alone. The girls are intent on leaving their heartbreak in the dust.

48. Oh Wonder - I Like It When You Love Me:

"I Like It When You Love Me" is the latest instalment from Oh Wonder to their ‘Home Tapes’ Project which has seen the widely loved London duo write, produce and release brand new music direct from isolation. ‘I Like It When You Love Me’ finds the band in a more solemn – yet equally absorbing – state of mind. Instead, they offer a delicate and introspective reflection of the highs and lows of a relationship.

56. Hilltop Hoods - I'm Good?:

The song was born while the band were in isolation writing their new album, but they opted to write something that would directly benefit some of those within the music industry impacted by the coronavirus outbreak and the subsequent tour cancellations.
Specifically, proceeds from the song will be going to Support Act’s ‘Roadies Crew Fund’ – a community that has been devastatingly affected by the pandemic.

57. Huey Lewis & The News - While We're Young:

"While We're Young" has a funky, retro vibe to it, and Huey Lewis allows his rich, raspy voice to shine. The band is all heart and soul, and the song is worthy of the repeat button.

62. Athena Manoukian - Chains On You:

This was Armenia's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest this year. Athens says about the song: "The song is about the treasures of people, about diamonds – talent, gift, that belong only to us. Sometimes they try to take these diamonds away from us. I want to say, that these diamonds can shine only with us, because they belong to us".

67. Brett Eldredge - Gabrielle:

"Gabrielle" is a soulful piano ballad where Brett Eldredge ponders the end of a romance. Though their relationship didn't quite work out, he wishes his former lover well with her life.

68. BTS - ON (feat. Sia):

The Korean seven members of the vocal group take turns performing in their native tongue and English, with their female guest only stepping in for the chorus, which she also does not handle all on her own. The empowering repeated section sees the superstars invite some unknown force to bring on the pain, which they are ready for.

71. Fiona Apple - Shameika:

“Shameika,” a song based on a candid comment from a Black classmate, is one of the standout tracks on Fiona Apple’s newest album, but this isn’t the first time a Black woman has played a prominent role in inspiring Apple’s work.

86. Sam Fischer - This City:

Fischer wrote this song explaining his emotions and feelings about the city he’s residing in now – Los Angeles.

98. Tyler, The Creator - I THINK:

"I Think" finds Tyler, the Creator detailing the destabilizing feeling of committing to a relationship. He thinks he's falling in love but the Odd Future co-founder is concerned about remaining vulnerable.

Next week's predictions for the 15th May 2020:
1. Michael Patrick Kelly - Beautiful Madness (+2)
2. Nico Santos & Topic - Like I Love You (+7)

7. Marshmello & Halsey - Be Kind
8. Surfaces - Sunday Best
9. Drake - Chicago Freestyle (feat. Giveon)
10. Ashley McBryde - First Thing I Reach For

My top 10 throwbacks of the week:
1. New Order - True Faith (1987)
2. Duran Duran - Is There Something I Should Know? (1983)
3. Phil Collins - You Can't Hurry Love (1983)
4. Rihanna - Disturbia (2008)

Hi Sergej

I really love your number 1. Pity it's already slipping down the UK chart. sad.gif
Fai Rumore would have been my Eurovision winner. It's so sad but beautiful at the same time. wub.gif

Hey there Sergej hi.gif

Pleased to see Fiona impacting a couple of other people's charts including yours wub.gif 'Shameika' was definitely a standout for me on the album! It may not be the most interesting in terms of production or anything but the story-telling is superb. Great to see 'Break Up Song' entering too, one of their best lead singles already wub.gif

Little Mix has to be my fave of your newies this week, it's a strong comeback for them and one of my fave pure pop songs of the moment (which still only puts it as high as #85 but that's good for them in 2020).
I'm still holding off on listening to Eurovision but I'll come back next week with a list of my faves. tongue.gif

Hi Sergej!

Snap! at Killers at 5, fab climb for Goliath! Liking the entries for LIve Lounge (one of the better multi-artist charity efforts), Huey Lewis (so fab to hear him back, mellow and wistful, almost 40 years since he first made my charts - now added to my itunes basket biggrin.gif ), Oh Wonder, BTS/Sia, and some fab oldies in your Throwback top 10

Hi Sergej! Great week of entries! I'm astonished about the collaboration between BTS and Sia. It is such a weird combo so I'm intrigued in how it turns out lol. Also nice to see more Eurovision entries, particularly Destiny's!
