Welcome to Round 19 of Least Fave Disney Animated Classic and a Happy New Year to everyone at Buzzjack and our first to bow out in the new year is "Peter Pan", which after such a close battle with "Frozen" and literally the 2 were neck and neck, it's "PP" that finally loses it's place with 7 votes, just 1 ahead of "Frozen". Such a total shame given that's one of my all time favourite Disney movies and had hoped that this would end up in the top 10, but sadly it wasn't to be. But coming as a pretty big shock especially given that it only received one vote in the previous round and never received more than 2 throughout the entire rounds. It just goes to show how brutal these polls are getting as we are now down to the classics.
Released in 1953 as the 14th Walt Disney Animated Classic and is based upon the J.M Barrie book "Peter Pan, or The Bow Who Wouldn't Grow Up" and was always one of Walt Disney's favourite stories and was intended to follow "Snow White" directly, but couldn't get the rights until 4 years later and then went through several struggles throughout the years, including WW2, which forced everything to be put on hold and plus the studio ending up in debt several times over. But when it finally did come out it became a commercial success making $7 Million against it's $4 Million budget and through several re-releases it ended up grossing over $87 Million at the box office. Peter Pan has adapted several times throughout the years on the big screen, including a 2003 live action remake and a 1991 sequel of some sorts "Hook" which starred Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman, Maggie Smith and Julia Roberts and grossed over $300 Million Worldwide and most recently "Pan" which came out this year and was panned by critics and bombed at the box office. There was even a animated sequel called "Return To Neverland" in 2002 and even several Tinkerbell spin offs. There is also another live action adaptation planned, based on Tinkerbell and is to be played by Reese Witherspoon. As for the other results, "Frozen" again came very close to leaving with 6 votes. Both "Bambi" and "Mulan" score 3 votes, while "Lady and the Tramp", "Sleeping Beauty" , "Alice In Wonderland", "The Jungle Book" and "The Hunchback Of Notre Dame" each score 1 vote each. 16th Peter Pan = 7 Votes This in my opinion will always be the definitive version of "Peter Pan" and to this day it retains the magic that made kids fall in love with it and the animation is certainly very excellent and for years as a child this was my favourite Disney movie, even now it still ranks in my top 10. There are many wonderful and beautiful scenes that are breathtaking and take you right back to your childhood. Even now as an adult I still love it and while it does stray away from the darkness from the book, but who cares it's Disney after all and they always change what's originally written and manage to turn it into something that's so much more magical. The characters are what really brought this to life, we have of course Peter Pan who really makes the whole thing work and of course the brilliantly designed Tinkerbell, along with Wendy voiced by Kathryn Beaumont who also voiced Alice in Alice In Wonderland, and again doing excellent voice work and of course the ever wonderful Captain Hook who makes a fantastic comedic villain and one of the most entertaining villians that Disney have offered us throughout the years. Right then we are now down to the final 15, and same rules apply just vote for your least fave by the next round which will be on 5th January 2016. Results So Far 16th - Peter Pan = 7 Votes/29.17% 17th - Tangled = 7 Votes/25.93% 18th - Robin Hood = 11 Votes/36.67% 19th - Dumbo = 8 Votes/27.59% 20th - Cinderella = 5 Votes/22.73% 21st – Wreck It Ralph = 5 Votes/21.74% 22nd– Hercules = 9 Votes/39.13% 23rd - The Fox and the Hound = 5 Votes/22.73% 24th - Lilo & Stitch = 7 Votes/29.17% 25th - Pocahontas = 10 Votes/37.04% 26th - Tarzan = 8 Votes/28.57% 27th - Big Hero 6 = 4 Votes/15.38% 28th - The Princess and the Frog = 6 Votes/23.08% 29th - The Aristocats = 6 Votes/10.00% 30th - The Emperor's New Groove = 10 Votes/16.67% 31st - Bolt = 8 Votes/12.31% 32nd -The Sword In The Stone = 9 Votes/13.85% 33rd - Fantasia = 10 Votes/15.38% 34th - Winnie The Pooh (2011) = 6 Votes/11.76% 35th - Atlantis; The Lost Empire = 7 Votes/13.73% 36th - Brother Bear = 11 Votes/21.57% =38th Treasure Planet = 8 Votes/8.70% =38th Basil The Great Mouse Detective = 8 Votes/8.70% 39th - The Rescuers = 9 Votes/9.78% 40th - The Black Cauldron = 10 Votes/10.87% =42nd The Rescuers Down Under = 8 Votes/7.21% =42nd Oliver & Company = 8 Votes/7.21% 43rd - The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh = 9 Votes/8.11% 44th - Meet The Robinsons = 17 Votes/15.32% =46th Fantasia 2000 = 8 Votes/8.60% =46th Chicken Little = 8 Votes/8.60% 47th - Home On The Range = 9 Votes/9.68% 48th - The Adventures Of Ichabod Mr Toad = 10 Votes/10.75% 49th - The Three Cabarellos = 14 Votes/15.05% 50th - Dinosaur = 8 Votes/6.96% =53rd Fun & Fancy Free = 10 Votes/8.70% =53rd Make Mine Music = 10 Votes/8.70% =53rd Saludos Amigos = 10 Votes/8.70% 54th - Melody Time = 11 Votes/9.57% This post has been edited by Acidburn: 2nd January 2016, 01:54 AM |

This is VERY difficult now but went for 101 Dalmations because Cruella is the only truly amazing thing about it.

I've been voting for Bambi for about 10 rounds I think so I'm sad to see these movies go before it. It just does nothing for me at all.

And anyway, there have been ONLY amazing classics left for about 9 rounds now so a classic is going every round unfortunately! |

All you racists trying to vote Mulan out early...
I'm honestly going for Hunchback because I keep forgetting it was even a Disney movie. For years I have believed that it was made by Dreamworks. No one even gives a f*ck about Esmeralda even. Also whoever gave Cruella some love, YAS. She is f*cking fabulous. |
