Some things.
- There are over 120 songs here. With almost 30 rates.
- The top 50 are all very strong songs.
- The top 20 are all some of the best in pop from the past decade (or as far back as TXF goes).
- Scores were very polarising, so only 7 songs out of so many managed over 9 averages!
I'll do my best to get the first batch of results out later tonight when I'm home from my screening.
Alexandra's gonna flop cause Inwas 10 hours too late rating
The bottom 10 are dropping very soon. What's last?
And in LAST place is....
#128 | Chico - 'D.I.S.C.O.' (AVG. 1.45)
In last place is "Joke" contestant Chico from series 2 of of X Factor. His cover of French band Ottawan's 'D.I.S.C.O' was the follow-up to the smash number 1 hit 'It's Chico Time', which is still to come. LOL at this being everyone's least favourite. I Can't really argue with that.
Should have been Luke Friend tbh x
Poor Chico
Not James Arthur ah well, this probably deserved last place, hopefully chico time can be out soon, so we have the serious stuff left
#127 | Andy Abraham - 'December Brings Me Back To You' (feat. Michael Underwood)' (AVG. 1.57)
Sorry but who? I listened back when rating and it didn't ring any bells. Another one from season 2, apparently. Who knew?
#126 | Jedward - 'Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby)' (feat. Vanilla Ice)' (AVG. 2.38)
The marmite Jedward are next with their Bowie/Queen cover, where they're bizarrely joined by Vanilla Ice. Their more popular (first) Eurovision entry is yet to come.
#125 | JLS - 'The Club Is Alive' (AVG. 2.56)
We now have the first single from the successful boyband JLS, who finished as runners up to Alexandra Burke, and outlasted her commercially. Their music was generally not as good though, and this one really is a stinker. The less said about it, the better.
#124 | Leon Jackson - 'Don't Call This Love' (AVG. 3.05)
The forgotten X Factor winner's first single post-winners song, and the only to chart, which was a trend for a couple of others. He now lives in America and has https://www.instagram.com/p/9TS2WvLjWt.
#123 | Stereo Kicks - 'Love Me So' (AVG. 3.13)
You have to commend Stereokicks, famous for being a boyband with far too many members, for managing a top 40 in a post-streaming chart world. But either way, it didn't get any radio support, so their careers were doomed from the get go.
#122 | James Arthur- 'You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You' (AVG. 3.52)
#121 | James Arthur - 'Recovery' (AVG. 3.523)
And then we have James Arthur, who was one of the few male winners of X Factor who looked like they might have actually managed to have some kind of career, until his big mouth ruined it all. Homophobic raps, rants, etc. 'You're Nobody', despite being a decent sized hit, was very annoying, but I didn't mind 'Recovery', which finishes in the rate just next to the former. And that's James out of the rate. Bye.
That's it for now. More tomorrow.
Bye Gurrrr...
Leon Jackson looking fine! Damn, if i knew he looked like that I might have given him an extra .5
No other major losses here, that JLS song was insanely irritating, how it reached number 1 is beyond me...
Think Jedward were the best of that bunch imo
Aww I really like 'Love Me So' Only one i'm gutted about so far. JLS to drop out fairly quickly please, so many stinkers in their back catalogue.
Gah, I wish I hadn't forgotten to vote. 'Recovery' deserves so much better.
Every single one of those are an atrocity.
Good the homophobic crap who can't sing is already fully out, absolutely dreadful
Poor Leon Jackson
Ooooops at 'The Club Is Alive' They have worse than that in their back catalogue.
Leon *.*
I prefer Disco to Chico Time actually (even though the latter is iconic it's not really a proper song I can enjoy)
JLS out already at least it's only one of theirs so it could have been worse!
Could've done with James Arthur higher too but I doubt he had a huge fan base on here to begin with
#120 | Marcus Collins - 'Seven Nation Army' (AVG. 3.61)
I was so worried during this year of X Factor that Marcus would win. He was just the kind of bland, young male that'd usually take the crown. Thank god he didn't his only single to chart was a weak White Stripes cover. All hail Little Mix, none of their singles have left yet.
#119 | JLS- 'Proud' (AVG. 3.82)
Another, very forgettable song from JLS. Not as annoying as 'The Club is Alive', but so forgettable. This was a Sports Relief single, and charted at #6 just as Little Mix's did, which is still to come.
#118 | One Direction - 'One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)' (AVG. 3.82)
Another charity single now, and this time a #1 from the most successful act to ever come from X Factor, One Direction of course. This is a fun, yet a little forgettable cover, and is Buzzjack's least favourite 1D song here!
#117 | One Direction - 'Gotta Be You' (AVG. 4.1)
Now we have another 1D song, this time their second ever single. Which didn't perform too well in comparison to WMYB, and had people prematurely calling them one-hit-wonders, which of course they weren't, with about a dozen songs still to come in this rate. I always liked this song and don't see why it's always bottom-pile when it comes to the popularity of their singles.
#116 | Chico - 'It's Chico Time' (AVG. 4.36)
The second #1 in this batch, this time Chico's smash hit, which flies in with an average about 4.
It's clearly Chico time...
I feel offended at how low One Way or Another is.
Both of those 1D songs are absolutely atrocious
Going back to the Little Mix/Marcus year - I was very confident Little Mix would beat him. I had a good feeling they would win after their fantastic performance of 'Don't Let Go (Love)'.
Marcus should be even lower than that!
OWOA(TK) is too low, it's fun~
Even with the JLS out again there's no big losses there yay
#115 | JLS - 'Billion Lights' (AVG. 4.375)
Funnily enough, this farewell single from JLS is one of the few I actually like and it's their biggest flop. I find the chorus huge and very catchy. I'm guessing the low scores come partly from how much it flopped and was instantly forgotten, but here's a reminder of what a tune it actually is:
#114 | JLS- 'Hottest Girl In the World' (AVG. 4.46)
The boyband bloodbath continues. Will any male artists make the top 20?! Another JLS song here, and this one I agree with the position for.
#113 | Jedward - 'Lipstick' (AVG. 4.97)
Here we have Jedward's last song to appear. A Eurovision smash! This came 8th in 2011, and it was so succesful for Ireland that Jedward were invited back to perform for the country again. It may have only scraped the top 40 in the UK, but this rightfully shot up to #1 in the Irish charts.
#112 | JLS - 'Love You More' (AVG. 5)
This came out when JLS were at the height of their popularity, and went straight in at number 1. Apart from Josh, who gives this 8.5, Buzzjack weren't huge fans, again.
#111 | Matt Cardle - 'Run for Your Life' (AVG. 5)
Here we have one of the only singles to chart by X Factor winner Matt Cardle. Another example of a season where the floppy X Factor audience vote for a dull male singer songwriter (Don't kill me Regina). It wasn't just the person in 2nd place that outperformed Matt, (Rebecca F) but also the act in 3rd (1D, obviously) and even the act in 4th (Cher Lloyd). This single is long but forgotten, but at least he tried. His music has since improved, but still doesn't make much of a mark on the public.
So agree with you on Billion Lights Joe, the first good song to fall as well for me!
Not big on any of those JLS tracks actually! Billion Lights is my least favourite single from them for sure, what a poor final single and their lowest peaking too!
HGITW is quite catchy though, maybe their high pitched vocals weren't that great but LYM isn't bad either. Not a single I revisit as often as I'd like though!
Good to see Jedward finally out but I do like the Matt Cardle song.
Don't mind Love Your More, or Billion Lights, but they are both quite forgettable against some of JLS's actually amazing singles.
Bye Jedward
Couldn't stand Matt Cardle, I found him very bland, and very pitchy, but her screamed X-Factor winner, even though Rebecca was far more talented, and One Direction were commercially the better choice, but their careers haven't done too badly ever since, so no harm no foul
I was going to post Black Magic at #110 as April Fools but I didn't get in there in time :'(
Bye bye all those JLS songs good riddance
#110 | Shayne Ward - 'Stand By Me' (AVG. 5.02)
Up next we have the second series winner with his 3rd single, 'Stand By Me'. Taken from his self titled debut album and it charted at #14 and lasted just 4 weeks inside the UK top 75! I truly believe it was this song that stalled his career up until he released 'No U Hang Up'! He really should've released that song that was used as the 'Hollyoaks In The City' (?) theme! Would've been a nice change of pace from his first two singles and then this could've served as a 4th single/performed on series 3 of XF!
#109 | Little Mix - 'Word Up!' (AVG. 5.08)
I believe this is the highest placed X Factor charity single in this rate (yay - go Little Mix etc..). I find it incredibly fun and it should've at least had similar success to The Saturdays' Comic Relief single, but I do get why it is frowned upon and forgotten. Alas, it was not to be as it debuted at #6 and fell straight out the chart a few weeks later. Thankfully though, they managed to turn things around by releasing 'Salute' & then the pop opus 'Black Magic'!
#108 | JLS - 'Do You Feel What I Feel?' (AVG. 5.16)
Here we have yet another JLS entry and this time it's the really bad and dreadfully bland, 'Do You Feel What I Feel?'. The sample is horrendous.
#107 | Shayne Ward - 'Gotta Be Somebody' (AVG. 5.2)
In 2010, Shayne announced that he was returning to music after 3 years (or so) out. Then he delivered us this cover of the Nickleback classic, 'Gotta Be Somebody'. His version is EXTREMELY "of it's time"... but I actually really like it. I get what he was trying to do (even if it did fail on it's arse!). Oh Shayne... there's still hope for him to become huge, right? RIGHT?
#106 | Olly Murs - 'Army Of Two' (AVG. 5.2)
At #106 we have one of the most successful artists to come from The X Factor, Olly Murs. 'Army Of Two' was a single he had written for his fans. It's just a shame that the song itself, although "decent" in an album track sort of way, fell completely flat as a standalone song and single. The chorus really lacks the oompf that the message is trying to serve, imo. Ah well, thankfully he has plenty more good stuff to come!
#105 | Olly Murs - 'Hand On Heart' (AVG. 5.3)
One after the other as we now see another Olly Murs single miss the top 100. This time it's the 4th single from 'Right Place, Right Time'. Such a misfire! Especially coming after the incredibly successful 'Dear Darlin''! That song seemed to bring him a new audience, but then in one fell swoop, he managed to undo it all by releasing the incredibly bland and MOR 'Hand On Heart'! It's always been the worst on that album! RPRT should've been 4th single with 'What A Buzz' as the 5th.
#104 | Lucy Spraggan - 'Lighthouse' (AVG. 5.3)
Here, we have one of the XF's most unique contestants. Some cited her as a credibility to the show, but I was never really a fan tbh. I just think Kate Nash and Lily Allen do what she tried to do to a much better effect!
#103 | Olly Murs - 'Heart On My Sleeve' (AVG. 5.47)
You see my review of 'Hand On Heart'? Read a similar thing about this. It pained me to see this was chosen as a single over 'Busy'! That would've fared much better as a single in HOMS position.
#102 | Lucy Spraggan - 'Last Night (Beer Fear)' (AVG. 5.52)
Here we have the song that Lucy auditioned with and received pretty much unanimous praise. It's catchy, but that's all. As you know, I wasn't a fan in the first place so....
#101 | One Direction - 'Midnight Memories' (AVG. 5.52)
And finally, before heading into the top 100, we say goodbye to X Factors biggest flops, One Direction. "Who?" IKR? Anyway, they tried to steal the limelight with this song. It failed and flopped and they never made it big... (but seriously, this is one of their better singles! Under appreciated!)
I listened to Word Up recently and it's so much better than I remember from the time. But it's place is expected, it'd still weaker than most of their singles.
Poor Lucy having her song taken down mid week so it couldn't chart top 10!
Midnight Memories is awful and should be lower then Teenage Kicks and Gotta Be You.
Guest host Joseph will be doing the next commentary!
Can't say I'm sad to see any of them leave. Do Like Midnight Memories, and don't dislike Word Up, they rank low in their singles, and Joe is right, Midnight Memories (and Word Up tbf) should have definitely ranked below One Way or Another, but hey ho
DYFWIF is amazing though
Last Night (Beer Fear) is way too low! As is Midnight Memories but 1D being low on rates is sadly par for the course on Buzzjack.
This is going really well so far! Can't say I like any of the songs so far although 'Midnight Memories' and 'Gotta Be Somebody' are decent (the video for the latter ;o).
Lol at JLS, they really were so bad for the most part and I was a massive fan of them on the show.
I don't mind 'Word Up!' tbh. I much prefer Little Mix's version to the original, but I'd probably only give it a 6/10 though. It's definitely their weakest single.
I actually really liked Do You Feel What I Feel, oops. Probably my favourite song out of all the songs that have failed to make the Top 100!
#100 | Union J - 'Beautiful Life' (AVG. 5.5217)
Union J scored a top 10 hit with this track back in 2013 and I'd say it's probably one of the most forgotten top 10s in recent years oops. It didn't hang around well (as you'd expect from a Union J track) but hey, at least it did better than the follow-up 'Loving You Is Easy' which missed the top 100 :') (though it was terrible, this is rather nice)
#99 | Stacey Solomon - 'Driving Home For Christmas' (AVG. 5.5)
Dagenham Stace only makes one appearance in this rate, and it sneaks into the top 100 at #99! A cover of Chris Rea's 'Driving Home For Christmas', Stacey's track became a minor hit thanks to being used on Iceland's Christmas advert.
#98 | Luke Friend - 'Hole In My Heart' (AVG. 5.56)
Buzzjack I am OUTRAGED that this isn't higher!! Luke Friend's debut single 'Hole In My Heart' sneaked a top 40 spot last year, quite impressive considering it was over a year since he was on the show and had no radio support. The midtempo track is sadly Luke's only release so far but it should be MUCH HIGHER. Gonna be asking Joe for names of who didn't give it at least an 8 xx
#97 | Union J - 'You Got It All' (AVG. 5.583)
Oops, Union J again! 'You Got It All' went to #1 on sales at the end of 2014 but became the first sales #1 to not be the official UK #1, being knocked down one place due to Ed Sheeran's superior streams.
#96 | Union J - 'Tonight (We Live Forever)' (AVG. 5.586)
And again 'Tonight (We Live Forever)' made it to #9 in summer 2014 but fell to #74 the week after It's my personal favourite Union J song so I'm sad to see it so low!
#95 | Shayne Ward - 'Breathless' (AVG. 5.6)
The second single and title track from Shayne's second album, 'Breathless' had a relatively decent chart run in 2007, notching up 3 weeks top 10, and a peak of #6.
#94 | JLS - 'Take A Chance On Me' (AVG. 5.86)
JLS released 'Take a Chance On Me' as the token ballad second single, from their third album 'Jukebox'. It peaked at #2 in the chart but failed to be as big a hit as the #1 single 'She Makes Me Wanna', which preceded it.
#93 | Shayne Ward - 'If That's OK With You' (AVG. 5.56)
More Shayne now. 'If That's OK With You' was released as a double a-side with 'No U Hang Up', it sounds quite dated to me now but it was fun back in the day, seems the public agreed too as it peaked at #2 and spent 10 weeks in the top 40.
#92 | Olly Murs - 'Seasons' (AVG. 5.875)
A more recent one now! 'Seasons' was the third single from Olly's album 'Never Been Better', and expectations were high as it followed the huge hits 'Wrapped Up' and 'Up'. It struggled a lot more than them however, peaking at #34 and only having one week in the top 40. I rather like it though, and I'm not a huge Olly fan!
#91 | One Direction - 'Little Things' (AVG. 5.89)
One Direction had been expected to claim their 2nd UK #1 with the lead single from album #2, 'Live While We're Young'. It fell short however and many expected 'Little Things' to be a low top 10 hit at most when it premiered. It seems that everyone was terrible at predicting 1D back in 2012 because it was this Ed Sheeran-penned track that went to the top spot, beating brand new singles by Bruno Mars and Little Mix to complete an all-new top 3.
I really like 'You Got It All' still. Such a good song. Pleased it did well for them off the back of no/little airplay.
'If That's OK With You' is so good too. I agree it feels dated, but still good. Really pleased to see 'No U Hang Up' is still to come though!
I unashamedly love 'Word Up' - both the original and the Little Mix cover, but it really was such a misfire given how strong the Salute album is. 'Competition' would've even been a great fit thematically. I do find it amusing how reviled it is by the girls themselves though.
'Little Things' is abhorrent. The worst thing 1D have released, so I'm a bit miffed it's as 'high' as #91.
'Little Things' is disgusting
'Locked Out Of Heaven' and 'Little Things' was an awful Top 2. Still really annoyed they both peaked higher than 'DNA'.
I really like Beautiful Life sad to see it so low, and definitely sad it was deemed their worst song of a pretty shit bunch *sigh*
Little Things I like, but weak compared to other 1D songs so not too sad to see it leave.
Don't think I gave Luke Friend anything, oops (sorry about it)
oh Stacey, my Dagenham queen, it could have been so different
The Shayne songs are too low
Beautiful Life is probably my favourite UJ song, so I certainly don't think it deserves to be their bottom song.
#90 | Leona Lewis - 'Hurt' (AVG. 5.97)
The first Leona Lewis "single" to fall is 'Hurt' a cover, and one I personally really enjoyed due to some powerful performances.
#89 | Amelia Lily - 'Party Over' (AVG. 5.97)
After 'Bring Me Joy', I had really high hopes for Amelia Lily, but her music just got more bland with every single. 'Party Over' did have some fans, even managing an 11 from Spadz, but it falls short of much popularity here, at #90
#88 | Joe McElderry - 'Ambitions' (AVG. 6)
Little known fact about me, I really stanned for this upon release. I really wanted Joe to do well, I even bought his album (*Whispers* it wasn't bad). It reached a slightly disappointing #6 in the chart, while the album went in at #3. Simon got rid of him soon after, when his career had a slight revival with the classic stuff. I still stand by that Joe was probably the best male vocalist to make it onto X Factor. But he clearly didn't have the X Factor.
#87 | Olly Murs - 'Oh My Goodness'(AVG. 6.02)
From the same X Factor series now, we have Olly Murs who came second to Joe but still receives heaps of success. 'Oh My Goodness' is an okay song but one of Olly's more forgettable efforts.
#86 | Olly Murs - 'Thinking Of Me' (AVG. 6.04)
And here he is again. 'Thinking of Me' peaked top 5 and is one of Olly's biggest hits, but listening back now, it already sounds horribly dates. It feels like weak indie-pop fodder from the mid 00s, it doesn't even sound as new as 2010
'Party Over' is GOOD. I went in and out of love with it at the time of its release, but i'm a firm fan now. It really should not be this low Such a jam <3
I kind of get the lack of love for Party Over but I really do love it for some reason!
The production is just: lush.
I wanted so much more from Joe, and I actually enjoy his classical stuff a lot more. It just suits his voice better, and I agree he s definitely the best male vocalist to be on UK X-Factor. Hasn't his newer stuff done really well, as well? Simon might be regretting letting him go Although I didn't stan for him on the show, because he was always my second favourite behind Stacey, definitely one of the more deserving winners. But 'Ambitions', bye.
No interest in the other songs to leave this section either
Just had a proper re-listen to 'Party Over' after Bal's words and it really is pretty decent and should have done better than #40. Loads better than 'Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got)', which is still to come.
I like 'Party Over' a lot, and all 3 of her singles actually. It's such a shame how her career went.
'Oh My Goodness' is easily the worst thing Olly's done for me to date, absolutely awful.
I agree 'Billion Lights' is a bit better than some of JLS' singles, but won't shed a tear for its position anyway.
Leona's cover of 'Hurt' was disgraceful, zero emotion or conviction there. On balance I'd perhaps say her cover of 'Stop Crying Your Heart' out is worse (maybe)
#85 | One Direction - 'Infinity' (AVG. 6.05)
In this section we kick start with another 1D song, I believe this only charted as an IG and not as an official single, but maybe someone could confirm or deny that for me. I hadn't heard it before now and I actually really like it! A lot better than the other singles from this era tbh. Reminds me of an inferior version of OneRepublic's 'Say (All I Need)' (one of my all time favourite songs). Might have to spin this song a bit more tbh.
#84 | JLS - 'Everybody In Love' (AVG. 6.06)
Another section and another JLS song. One that I really like, but realise it hasn't quite aged as well as one might have believed at the time. It's very "of it's time". The fact they managed to get a high profiled producer (at the time) to work with them was quite a huge thing not only for them, but for XF contestants in general! I think this song deserved to be a bit higher than where it's currently at, but I'm necessarily distraught at it only finishing this low.
#83 | Union J - 'Carry You' (AVG. 6.14)
Here we have another entry from Union J and thus, thrusting them out of the rate. It's their most successful single and although it's as basic a pop song as you can get, it's ridiculously catchy! I always find it bizarre that it's used so heavily in the motion picture 'Kick Ass 2'!
#82 | Olly Murs - 'Right Place, Right Time'(AVG. 6.02)
#82 we see another Olly Murs single fall and this time, it's a DAMN GOOD ONE! Shame on you Buzzjack for rating it so low. It's a jam and has always been a standout on the album of the same name. So current and deserves much more recognition. This, 'Dance With Me Tonight' & 'Busy' all switch places as my favourite Olly song!
#81 | Misha B - 'Home Run' (AVG. 6.25)
At #81 we have this song from Misha B. Thankfully she's done better... MUCH better. I really don't know why I dislike her/this song as much as I do, when I'd usually eat something like this up. EHHHHH.
'Home Run' is my least favourite Misha single so i'm happy it's first out but #81 is FAR TOO LOW. Her other two better be much much higher although I expect Here's To Everything... will be out soon too DYTOM *should* do brilliantly if there's any justice.
'Carry You' is very nice + 'Everybody in Love' is OK for a JLS song but it is pretty saccharine and woeful at the same time so no particular loss.
All them songs in that section bar JLS = lush
I really love 'Carry You'. I find it very infectious. Sadly, apart from Loving You Is Easy (which for some reason I really liked), nothing ever lived up to this, so I'm glad its highest of their singles, here, but I think it could have been 10 or so places higher.
#80 | Same Difference - 'We R One' (AVG. 6.28)
Noooooooooooooo!!! Out so soon. :'( You don't get more poppy than this. It's phenomenal and such a delight to listen to! Really deserves to be so much higher in this countdown. I remember thinking this would be one of the biggest pure pop/novelty hits of the year! Loooool. Their XF performance of it SLAYED.
#79 | One Direction - Don't Forget Where You Belong (AVG. 6.3)
Here, have another One Direction album/Instant Grat track. Nice enough track.
#78 | One Direction - History (AVG. 6.35)
And just like that we lose another 1D song, but this time it's an official single. The final single no less. In about it's rightful position imo. Catchy but bland.
#77 | Maria Lawson - 'Sleepwalking' (AVG. 6.37)
MARIA LAWSON OUT PERFORMS 1D'S LAST EVER SINGLE!!!!!!!!! OMGGGGGGG!!!!!! *.* She is the TRUE runner up from season 2 of X Factor. I remember the uproar over her early elimination and how much it pissed people off... so OF COURSE she releases a single and it flops... Such a shame as it's rather nice <3
#76 | Misha B - 'Here's To Everything (Ooh La La)' (AVG. 6.39)
Here we have the last single to be released by Misha B. It's better than 'Home Run', but not by much, so I'm pleased to see they've disappeared relatively close together. So at least Buzzjack got SOMETHING right in that 'Do You Think Of Me' is the best of her singles *.* (and one of the very best songs in this whole rate...)
Oops I knew it Here's To Everything is MAJESTIC - the "When my world is on fire, I dance with the flames" line is stunning.
YES Jonjo DYTOM IS the best song in this rate so i'm glad it's still to come. Can it WIN.
Omg Sleepwalking <3 Such a lovely track.
Here's To Everything is amaze too, anthem *.*
SAME DIFFERENCE AT 80?!!!!! What kind of f***ery?! breaks my heart
Also all those 1D songs are great and definitely should have been higher.
Same Difference at 80, genuinely shocked by that, they deserve so much more
Well, I can assume that had Loving You Is Easy been included here, it would have flopped more than Carry You.
I was worried Same Difference would be higher tbh, I saw a lot of 11s!
Wow at there being no Alexandra songs so far. Even 'Start Without You' is still to come.
#75 | Aiden Grimshaw - 'Is This Love' (AVG. 6.45)
Kicking off a, for the most part, strong, top 75 is Aiden Grimshaw. An X Factor series 7 contestant who I was a big fan of, but it seems that myself (who gave it a 9), Ryan (9.5) and Froot (11) were within a minority, because the scores were less than amazing across the board. However, I think this is a genius track and you won't find anything quite like it within the rest of the results. Personally I think the X Factor label put off indie fans and the sound was too indie for X Factor fans, as despite good enough support from Radio 1, this came in at a disappointing #35, with the second (just as good) single missing the top 40 altogether.
#74 | Rebecca Ferguson: - 'I Hope' (AVG. 6.479)
Next we have the first of 3 tracks from Rebecca Ferguson to fall from the rate, another series 7 contestant, who came second to Matt Cardle and finished ahead of 1D, 5 years back. Rebecca has had pretty decent success since leaving the X Factor (more than the winner anyway). She made a career by singing flat , but her output was generally good some of the time. I like 'I Hope', and to see songs of this quality falling, low top 75, it goes to show how good the X Factor has been for music in the UK.
#73 | Cher Lloyd - 'Swagger Jagger' (AVG. 6.5)
Now we have the contestant from series 7 - the same series as Rebecca and Aiden. The very much love-hate Cher Lloyd's first single is a bit of a marmite track. It's quite awful actually. It's gimmicky and silly, and I can see why it's so hated - but it's still quite infectious. And as many people that seemed to dislike this song, it still stormed in at #1 in the UK. Get it Cher.
#72 | Matt Cardle - 'Loving You' (feat. Melanie C) (AVG. 6.666)
Another from series 7. This time we have the winner, Matt Cardle's second and final entry in this chart, and it's his only organically successful single (no X factor performance etc), Spice Girls impact. It's a nice ballad, but is a bit forgettable beyond that, but at #72, it's a decent showing!
#71 | Leona Lewis - 'Trouble' (feat. Childish Gambino) (AVG. 6.74)
And finishing off this batch is Leona Lewis's 'Trouble', which I can never decide if I like or not. I think I do, and I love Donald Glover's involvement. Either way, it was a weak choice comeback single and was the beginning of the end when it came to the huge success of Leona's career, sadly.
Trouble far too low! The Childish Gambino version is so slick and the way it builds until that final minute and then releases is exquisite *.*
GWON BURKE. Queen. <3
The Beast rightfully slaying
I still love 'Trouble' but I'm not surprised it has fallen out before Leona's other tracks. I remember the hype for it from the press back in 2011 when it was originally supposed to be released. It definitely didn't live up to the hype but I think Childish Gambino turned it from mediocre to great.
Happy to win!!
I Hope falling behind Swagger Jagger and Loving You...All 3 of queen Rebecca's songs should have been top 15/10 tbh
With both being flawless, why would you expect that?
Trouble is MUCH too low, what the hell! Perhaps not a classic but it's definitely one of her best to me and I thought it'd be much higher.
Here's To Everything is also great, the only Misha B song I can tolerate but despite it not really being anything special, I've always found HTO really enjoyable.
I try to refrain from complaining about results but I actually can't at SWAGGER JAGGER being higher than Aiden. :/
Trouble wasn't a good comeback single at all, the album was full of potential, but sadly it didn't take off and it wrecked her career. I reckon if 'Come Alive' was released first and followed by 'Glassheart', then things could have been different.
#70 | Shayne Ward - 'No U Hang Up' (AVG. 6.7)
Making it to #70, is the slow jam, and, in my opinion Shayne's strongest single. Though Buzzjack clearly prefer disagrees, as 'No Promises' is the only song by SW still to come. Though largely forgotten, this song went to #2 in the UK and if it were released by a higher tier male artist, I could have seen it being a pretty long lasting hit (not that this flopped by any means).
#69 | Alexandra Burke - 'Let It Go' (AVG. 6.78)
Ah, she finally appears. Before Frozen, we had Burke, and her final ever song to manage the UK top 40. 'Let it Go' is Buzzjack's least popular song by X Factor 5 winner, Alexandra Burke, but at #69, she's done pretty well to only be making an appearance now. Ella Henderson and Diana Vickers are the only two other artists with multiple hits, yet to lose a song. 'Let it Go' was unjustly dealt with, as, although it's rather generic (chasing the at the time, on trend dance-pop route) it's still a jam, and deserved at least some support. Sometimes I channel Burke when I get the Victoria line.
#68 | One Direction - 'Live While We're Young' (AVG. 6.83)
Poor 1D, they've lost a fair few of their hits now, and this is one I'd certainly have put in the top 50. I catagaorise this with 'What Makes You Beautiful', and 'Best Song Ever' in style, but definitely rank it higher than the latter, both of which are still to come.
Let's go crazy crazy crazy!
#67 | Olly Murs - 'Please Don't Let Me Go' (AVG. 6.88)
Every time a Murs song leaves this rate, it kind of reminds me that 80% of his output really sounds the same, this has done reasonably well here, but there's still a fair few of Murs' more stand-out songs to come.
#66 | One Direction - 'Drag Me Down' (AVG. 6.89)
Another 1D song This one I'm admittedly a lot less keen on. 'Drag Me Down' was the start of a very successful final campaign for the world's biggest boy-band. It was also the first single that they released as a 4-piece, as Zayn leaves the band to embark on better things (and when I say "better things", I mean to make an album that opened with 1/4 the sales that 1D's slowest selling album opened on, before falling sharply down the chart :') ). Luckily, of this era, the fantastic 'Perfect' is still to come, which excels in the meldoy that 'Drag me Down' just doesn't have fore
<\3
'No U Hang Up' is a huge loss imo. Such a smooth jam and definitely should have been the lane he should have been heading in a lot more. It suited him a whole lot more than the MOR style of his first album.
'Live While We're Young' is ridiculously under appreciated!
No big losses in this batch. 'Let It Go' was the final nail in the coffin of Alexandra's pop career - it should've been the Greek hit 'Tonight' as the second single. 'Live While We're Young' is just a less good WMYB and 'Drag Me Down' is far from their best. Shame Shayne is nearly out although 'No Promises' is definitely his best single so hopefully it'll rank rather high.
Love both of those 1D songs :'( Like Please don't Let me go as well. We are beginning to lose some good ones now. SLAY at Diana still having all her songs make top 65!! Happy to see 2 Rebecca songs in there as well. Would love it if Once, and Nothing's Real But Love could make top 20
I loved 'Let It Go' at the time but there were so many other better potentials from the album ('Between The Sheets', 'Heartbreak on Hold', 'Tonight', 'Sitting On Top of the World'). The album is amazing still, such a party album.
2 more 1D songs out.. they probably won't do as well as I thought they would on here going on that...
Rebecca's 'I Hope' is amazing. As if it's that low down ~le sigh~.
'Here's To Everything' also an under-appreciated gem. Thank goodness 'Do You Think of Me' is still to come. Misha B is Queen x
Matt/Melanie C also disgracefully low. >.<
at Shayne doing so terribly. 'No U Hang Up'
No U Hang Up is definitely Shayne's best, tune.
LIT, PDLMG and LWWY especially are great would have liked them top 50.
#65 | Amelia Lily - 'Shut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got)' (AVG. 6.89)
I was harsh on Lily's first song to leave the rate, but 'Party Over' is A LOT better than 'Shut Up', which I found to be a major disappointment after 'Joy. This had some really strong scores though, quite a few 9s and a 10 from AdamAloud!
#64 | JLS - 'Eyes Wide Shut' (feat. Tinie Tempah)' (AVG. 6.98)
Another JLS track here, this time with a Tinie Feature. This brought them moderate success and is one of the few JLS songs I don't mind, so I'm glad to see it a little higher.
#63 | Little Mix - 'Change Your Life' (AVG. 7)
Cue motivational X Factor instrumental...
The first (original) Little Mix single to fall! Buzzjack's least favourite is 'Change Your Life', which is a lovely song, that I always liked. I would have loved to have seen this make the top 10, but it fell just short. This is also the first song to receive a 7 average. That's 63 songs with a 7+ average, so we're going to see lots of favourites falling by the wayside now.
#62 | Ella Henderson - 'Glow' (AVG. 7.02)
So Diana Vickers is the artist to survive the longest as Ella Henderson loses her first song... The huge impact of 'Ghost' meant that 'Glow', the second single from powerhouse vocalist Ella Henderson, was the slightly overshadowed. It's still a very nice single, but I think that anything would have felt a disappointment coming after that massive debut. Ella has gone onto having a Platinum album, featured on some popular dance records and is probably the most successful contestant from the past few years of X Factor.
#61 | JLS - 'One Shot' (AVG. 7.06)
And another from JLS, leaving them with only 4 more songs left in the rate; 'Beat Again' and 'She Makes Me Wanna', which will come out on top?
Change Your Life should not be the first original song of theirs to fall :/ Where's How Ya Doin???
Shut Up.. a few places too high - certainly should be lower than Party Over! These JLS songs are decent ;o
Like both of those JLS songs :/
Agreed. Change Your Life should not be the first original LM song out. Though I think it should have been Little Me.
Not a fan of Glow, I loved Ghost so much, I was gutted when Glow came out, would have actually liked to have seen it finish a lot lower. SLAY DIANA! Possibly one of the most underrated X-Factor contestants with the General Public, glad to see she's getting some love here
I would also prefer Little Me Out before How Ya Doin'. By far their weakest single bar the covers, for me. How Ya Doin' has really grown on me lately.
'You called? I missed it' <3
Diana officially being crowned the X Factor artist with the most consistently strong discography! *.* Her impact 8 years on
Catching up on this after being made aware that it exists and OMG what. 'Trouble' that low?! That's my fave Leona song.
I think 'Change Your Life' deserves to be the lowest original Little Mix single on this rate. I remember when it came out - I just found it dull. They've had much better material. 'How Ya Doin'' has always been amazing to me.
'Shut Up' is far superior to 'Party Over' but wasn't as strong as Amelia's debut single. It's a shame her pop career quickly went into terminal decline.
These two JLS entries aren't half bad to be fair but their music post-XF was underwhelming to say the least. I always saw them as more of an R&B vocal-harmony group rather than chasing the latest pop trends.
I've been thinking and listening to Misha B and Amelia quite a bit today and it really is quite upsetting how quickly they went from scoring top 40 hits to being totally abandoned. What a harsh musical landscape for them when they're both insanely talented stars and capable of making really good music as the singles showed. Not sure if it was the effect of coming from XF that meant they weren't given the chance to release more but it's a major shame.
If the music stayed as strong as Do You Think of Me and YBMJ i'm sure they both could've had decentish careers, or maybe i'm just being naive.
I did not vote in this because I couldn't get past the first stage of assigning scores to all the utterly dire things the X Factor has done to the music scene over the years (mostly male and boyband-oriented but also a few basic female flopstars) but I'll pop in and say that Ambitions (Joe was really really good with his debut album, for a Scissor Sisters/Mika lover like me anyway), We R One and *gods forgive me for what I am about to do* Lipstick are far too low.
Basically X Factor is mostly good for CAMP. And not much else. And maybe Eyes Wide Shut out of the last lot.
Glow is absolutely fantastic, its more understated than Ghost but its just as anthemetic. It deserves to be far higher, particularly above Yours anyway.
#60 | Olly Murs - 'Wrapped Up' (feat. Travie McCoy)’ (AVG. 7.08)
Next we have the lead single from Olly’s 4th album Never Been Better, in which he rents Travie McCoy for some rapping.
I’m running out of words for these Olly Murs songs, so I turned to some members of BJ for help:
“This Olly Murs song sounds like many other Olly Murs songs” – HausOfKubrick
“It’s shet” – JosephStyles
“Wrapped Up is a song that Olly released” - Jay
#59 | One Direction - ‘One Thing’ (AVG. 7.08)
Another very One Direction song, from their first album, a very fun song that was still living slightly in the shadow of What Makes You Beautiful, and came before they really pushed themselves with songs like ‘Story of My Life’. I can only assume JosephStyles’ words on this would be that it’s not shet.
#58 | Diana Vickers - 'My Wicked Heart' (AVG. 7.11)
And finally Diana Vickers loses a song. I absolutely adored ‘My Wicked Heart’ upon its released, even though I still find it difficult to understand what she’s trying to say. I was quite sad that this didn’t perform the way I hoped, and that it’s the last time she ever appeared in the top 40.
Whoops!
#57 | Ben Haenow - ‘Second Hand Heart’ (Feat. Kelly Clarkson) (AVG. 7.12)
Despite falling to the curse of most male X Factor winners, Ben does decently here, falling short of the top 50 by under ten places. Though totally overshadowed by the release of Fleur East’s ‘Sax’ (which was obviously Syco’s priority), this still got a decent push and was a minor hit for Ben, spending a few weeks in the top 40 and selling just shy of 200k
#56 | Alexandra Burke - 'Start Without You' (feat. Laza Morgan) (AVG. 7.16)
Spending two weeks at #1 back in 2010 is Burke’s ‘Start Without You’, it’s hated by many, as it’s slightly more gimmicky sounding than her previous singles, but people mostly just hated the video. Oily naked men though…What’s not to like?
Also, 'Elephant' still in! Will it make the top 50?
'Second Hand Heart' is very good - I did not like him on the XF but this is such a pleasant song from him (his voice sounds better on record compared to the GRUNTING AND GROWLING of the live shows).
'Start Without You' Not the best from Burke but a STAPLE for me still.
That 'Wrapped Up' commentary You could've told us it was going to go on record and be used! I might have been kinder, because it's not a bad one from him
SHOCKED Ben finished so high! Probs because of Kelly tbh.
Really like the other 4. Gutted One Thing is out so soon!! Wrapped Up is perfectly nice, My Wicked Heart is amazing, and I really like Start Without You, and it's video Elephant should have left before it for sure
I've always seen Wrapped Up as like a poor copy of Treasure by Bruno Mars and one place higher is my favourite 1D song that I love SWY is a great fun Alexandra Burke song, I'm a bit surprised Elephant is higher even if I do prefer it more
#55 | One Direction - 'You & I' (AVG. 7.16)
Here we have one of One Direction's very WORST singles! How has it got so high? I didn't realise it was that popular?! BLAAAAANDDDDDDDDDDDD!!! #JusticeForStartWithoutYou
#54 | Leona Lewis - 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out' (AVG. 7.2)
At #54 is another non-single, but managed to chart in the top 40 due to other reasons. The reason for this one was because of an X Factor final performance and I'm sure it was done with the intention of it becoming a similar success to 'Run'. I absolutely adore this song and her cover of it! It deserved to be a bigger smash than it was, but as it had little airplay, there's not much more that could have been done to help it out. Although I guess making it an official single over 'I Got You' would've been a smart move, but I adore IGY, so I'm not moaning!
#53 | Alexandra Burke (feat. Erick Morillo) - 'Elephant' (AVG. 7.208)
So there we have it. There will be no elephants in the top 50 as the Beast failed to get it higher!! 'Elephant' does however manage to exceed expectations and probably go higher than people anticipated it to do so. I personally prefer 'Let It Go', but I can see why they didn't really keep her career going at the time. Both were incredibly cheap and generic. The perfect formula for forum gais (and Tim) to orgasm over.
#52 | One Direction - 'Perfect' (AVG. 7.24)
Lets have another One Direction song while we're at it, eh? This time it's the very good 'Perfect'! As others have noticed, it's very similar to TayTay's 'Style' and fans lost their minds over this fact. They suit this kind of 80's throwback sound and I think it's a sound they should've delved into a little bit more. Let's hope one of their solo career's go in this direction.
#51 | Little Mix - 'Little Me' (AVG. 7.26)
So just missing out on the top 50 is our very own Little Mix! This time it's with the rather beautiful, but bleh track 'Little Me'. The 2nd single from their 2nd album 'Salute'. It failed to go top 10, but it did hold up quite nicely. It's one of the girls absolute favourite tracks and although I understand why (the message is strong) I just find it rather "oh this is nice" and wasn't really worthy of being a single, when they had the likes of 'Nothing Feels Like You', 'Salute' (at the time), 'Towers', 'These Four Walls', 'A Different Beat', 'Competition' all on the album/single worthy. (This campaign still infuriates me )
Little Me is fine, but should have been lower imo.
Love both of the 1D songs. Gutted Perfect didn't make top 50
And Elephant should have been way lower for me
So we have your TOP 50!!!
Shayne Ward:
'No Promises'
Leona Lewis:
'Better In Time'
'Bleeding Love'
'Collide' (feat. Avicii)

Misha B:
'Do You Think Of Me?'
Ella Henderson:
'Ghost'
'Glitterball' (w/ Sigma)
'Here For You' (w/ Kygo)
'Yours'
Fleur East:
'Sax'
Predictions?
Ouch to JLS, and 1D.
Slay the girls though keeping the bulk of theirs in. Going on the results so far, and how tight it is, I think Sax might leave in the next 10 songs, despite some high scores.
The Silence, No Promises, The Boy Who Murdered Love, Want You Back, will all hopefully be out soon (sorry Diana).
Front runners for me atm would be:
Move
Black Magic
What Makes You Beautiful
Bleeding Love
Do You Think Of Me
Ghost
Hoping one of Rebecca's might sneak top 10. I doubt but, i hope, i hope, i hope, i hope, i hope, i hope
I'm shocked so many Leona songs are in the Top 50. I didn't think Buzzjack liked her that much. Happy for the win with 'One More Sleep', 'Love Me Like You' and 'You Bring Me Joy' to do well.
Jonjo that You & I commentary it's my fave 1D single Elephant is ok but the album has so much more on it that would be served as better lead single :/
DYTOM, All Night Long and Bleeding Love are my 3 favourite XF songs so happy to see them still in here and hoping they can all do very well <3
Still a bit of filler left but this is going SO WELL
!!! At my review :')
Too many 1D songs are out. Drag Me Down especially is ridiculously low.
I'm gutted 'Perfect' hasn't made the top 50! What a great song. JLS must be the act to have lost the most singles! I agree 'Little Me' is a little too high, I'd have switched it with 'Change Your Life'.
Great to see so many Leona (Forgive Me in particular I would have expected to say goodbye to outside the top 75!) and Little Mix singles in, I'd say they have the most consistent discography of the artists here, especially in comparison to the polar opposite - JLS, who must have lost the most songs, only two remaining. So glad 'She Makes Me Wanna' has made the top 50 though, I still think it's amazing.
(PS - Elephant is amazing)
Also, it'd be great to see some top 10 predictions.
These songs most likely wouldn't feature in my personal Top 50:
P.S. Both Little Me & Change Your Life should be lower, both are ok but I'd consider them to be their two worst "original" singles by quite a distance.
What a poseur ! Chart runs was interesting ! Silly bitch !
(This thread has now peaked with Jay's runs )
Hmm top 10 predictions... not sure on an order but: Bleeding Love, Run, Black Magic, Love me Like You, Bad Boys, DNA, What Makes You Beautiful, Better in Time, Ghost and.. All Night Long (wishful thinking with the last one)... not sure though really Lol.
You Bring Me Joy is fantastic Jay! I wish Xenomania had given it to GA and they could have replaced Every Now and Then or BCYLM with it on Ten.
Jay, on a scale of Girl Group Songs Rate to Spice Girls Rate, how successful/unmessy is this rate?
Can I just say, 'Little Me' is far superior to 'Change Your Life' and there is no way on earth 'Let It Go' is worse than 'Start Without You'.
Prediciting:
1. Bleeding Love
2. Black Magic
3. What Makes You Beautiful
4. Ghost
5. Move
6. Do You Think Of Me
7. Love Me Like You
8. Bad Boys
9. DNA
10. One of: Nothing's Real But Love, Run, All Night Long, Kiss You, Once, (Maybe) Sax
Start Without You, song and video, is an utterly iconic package, and I truly feel bad for anyone who doesn't realise that. Never has two weeks at #1 been more deserved. *.*
Is it any wonder that her career came crashing down after this single had finished impacting on our lives?! The UK public aren't fools. We all knew immediately upon hearing this opus that she'd never be able to top it, so there was really no point in dragging out the inevitable. Let it go go go go... that we did.
I live in hope that the first version of the video leaks someday. A song this magnificent deserves two videos for us to enjoy.
I genuinely do love Start Without You :') I feel that a lot of people take it far too seriously... it's so much fun! It's ludicrously catchy, and it makes me smile. <3
Pople do indeed take the song more serious than it is. The first videp shot for it would've been perfect for it as well <\3
The Silence to somehow end up top 20 pls
Jay that post is iconic.
Top 50 kicking off very soon....
#50 | Leona Lewis - 'Footprints in the Sand' (AVG. 7.28)
Here we have part of the double A side to 'Better in Time', though it was probably more of a B side at the time, considering BIT was a lot more successful. It, however is remembered today, being used heavily on X Factor still to this day. *Leona getting that dolla.
*Simon
#49 | Ella Henderson - 'Here For You' (w/ Kygo) (AVG. 7.3)
Here we have Ella Henderson's less successful collaboration (with the Sigma collab still to come). Though not within Kygo's best, this is still a decent dance track with great vocals and it's done very well to make the top 50 here.
#48 | One Direction - 'Best Song Ever' (AVG. 7.375)
It's not close to being the best song ever, but this remains a bop, with a very over the top video, featuring 'too cool for 1D' Zayn in drag.
The best song ever:
#47 | Cher Lloyd - With Ur Love' (feat. Mike Posner) (AVG. 7.395)
This has finished far too low, Cher's very best for me, I was beyond obsessed with it upon release. The current relevance of #1 Mike Posner!
#46 | Little Mix - 'Hair' (AVG. 7.41)
I'd say this one finished a little too high. 'Hair' is the first instant grat from Get Weird and it impressively managed the top 40. Though not up their with Little Mix's best singles, it's still a fun throwback pop number and I wouldn't mind it as a 4th single.
I think the top 10 will be:
1. Black Magic
2. Bleeding Love
3. Ghost
4. DNA
5. Run
6. Story Of My Life
7. Sax
8. Move
9. What Makes You Beautiful
10. Dance With Me Tonight
quite happy with all of these leaving. I think better songs have left before them. Best Song Ever is imo Best Song Of The Bunch, but definitely wouldn't have put it any higher
can Rebecca and Diana have some top 40 impact excited
Hair is amaze <3 Such a jam. I love Best Song Ever, still comfortably their best for me.
All those are indeed great! That Ella collab is by FARRRRRR the better collab of the two. 'Glitterball' is varying shades of poo. FITS is stunning! 'With Ur Love' is amaze too, although nowhere near to being my fave Cher track 'Hair' is fantastic too. So much attitude and personlity however, my fave song of this section is def 'Best Song Ever'. Really annoyed it failed to go top 20
I PROMISE YOOOOOOOOU.
Here For You too high!
Best Song Ever too low!
Cher's best song out already, bit rude.
Hair is k.
With Ur Love is a jam, one of Cher's best
Footprints In The Sand should be so much higher One of Leona's best and such an emotional song
The other 3 should be way lower though; Here For You is good but too high, Hair is average and Best Song Ever is, let's just say doesn't live up to its name
Also We R One being anywhere near that low is heartbreaking, anthem for life
I didn't realise how many good songs X Factor had produced! I like a lot of the ones lower down, as well as those coming through now. I would say that generally it's been quite accurate so far. That's a very strong Top 50.
#45 | Cher Lloyd - 'Want U Back' (AVG. 7.437)
And just like that, we lose Cher from the rate. 'Want U Back', did okay in the UK, as Cher's 3rd song from the album, but it was in America where it went off the map, being a huge hit there (going double platinum!). Unfortunately, the success of Cher in America drew her to concentrating far to much on furthering her momentum overseas, while she lost relevance in the UK, and hasn't really recovered, especially as she only had that one hit in America in the end I personally prefer With Ur Love, but this is still a great pop number!
#44 | Little Mix - 'How Ya Doin'?' (feat. Missy Elliott) (AVG. 7.48)
I feel like I've overlooked this over the years, but the song has hugely grown in my estimations since I've seen the videos of themhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTH-AJIxLpc this year. Given my (very late) burst love of this song, I'm quite pleased it has out-performed 'Little Me' and 'Change Your Life' in this rare, making the top 50! I've always really liked the video for this too, it reminds me of Fleur East's 'Sax' video, but with money.
#43 | Olly Murs - 'Up' (feat. Demi Lovato) (AVG. 7.52)
Here, we have one of Olly's highest selling singles, 'Up', which is an emotional ballad that features Poot Demi. I can't deny that I've always hated this song, but it clearly has fans, here, making it to #43.
#42 |Shayne Ward - 'No Promises' (AVG. 7.54)
I'm rather impressed that Shayne managed to get as high as this, though it's still a shame he didn't sneak into the top 40 with anything. I'd personally have swapped this with 'No U Hang Up', but there we go. Bye Shayne.
#41 | Rebecca Ferguson - 'Nothing's Real But Love' (AVG. 7.625)
Here we have Rebecca's first solo single after coming second in the X Factor, and her only ever top 10 hit. I always enjoyed this one, but 'Backtrack' is rightfully ahead. Shame this just missed out on the top 40 though.
Little catch up~ 'With Ur Love' is the best song in the previous set, my favourite from her (away from 'Sirens' obviously <3).
'How Ya Doin'?' is far too high! Such an annoying song. 'Up' was ok for a short while but it's pretty unlistenable now.
Still this is GOING WELL.
Shayne Ward:'No Promises'

Misha B:

Ella Henderson:
'Ghost'
'Glitterball' (w/ Sigma)'Here For You' (w/ Kygo)

Fleur East:
'Sax'
Leona having the most singles in the top 40! YASSS hopefully JLS will be completely out soon.
Leona doing amazingly well! She does have some very strong singles though. If only she still made them that well
#40 | Diana Vickers - 'The Boy Who Murdered Love' (AVG. 7.63)
Up next is the 2nd single from Diana Vickers. It's always been my least favourite from her (amazing) album and I was completely baffled as to why it's chosen over practically anything else from the album. It clearly has it's fans though! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0RyFaq1uWE (click the link and let me know whether you agree or not!) was a complete missed oppourtunity! :'( We could've had that as the 2nd instead
#39 | One Direction - 'Steal My Girl' (AVG. 7.6)
Up next and finishing ahead of their best single (whatever, Buzzjack. What. E. VER), we have the rather annoying 'Steal My Girl'. Thankfully they have a few more songs ahead of this.
#38 | JLS - 'Beat Again' (AVG. 7.66)
Aaaaaand here we have J ust L ike S hit's debut single. Just relistening to this now as I'm writing and I forgot how much of a bop it is tbh. I knew I liked it somewhat, but I got tired of it pretty quickly and now I've not heard it for a while, it's actually very good! It was always a solid debut effort and I remember thinking this would be huge in America at the time (lolololololololol). Thankfully Ms. Burke delivered a genuine pop classic the same year though and reminded us all as to why she won <3 (that song is rightfully still to come, too!)
#37 | Leona Lewis/Avicii - 'Collide' (AVG. 7.68)
This song is really under appreciated amongst her discography. It's such a jam! It's a complete shame Syco messed the release of this up. Something to do with Avicii wasn't given a credit for it and being really annoyed as he wanted to release https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQYzF84xocw (which this song clearly samples) or something like that, all without his permission (although Avicii https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E3znZoFnN8 lamfoooooo - P.s. I did not know this until now!). Either way the whole thing was a big fat MESS and not the hot sort of mess you'd expect Such a shame as it really deserved to be huge </3
#36 | Rebecca Ferguson - 'Backtrack' (AVG. 7.72)
And that's it. No more Rebecca Fergie-Ferguson! I'm really not a fan of her voice (always sounds like someone's trying to be sick to me) although this is definitely her best, so well done Buzzjack on that one.
Ohhhh I like all of these. I adore that Diana track, Steal My Girl is my favourite 1D track and Collide is certainly one of Leona's best for me. Backtrack is Rebecca's best but I wouldn't want to see it any higher really.
Beat Again is fun, but I'm so glad 'She Makes Me Wanna' has won out of the JLS tracks.
I absolutely love Backtrack
'Steal My Girl' is lovely 'Beat Again' is LISTENABLE for a JLS song but i'm glad their best one is still to come.
I don't really know the Rebecca F songs and 'Collide' is interesting ;o not sure i've ever really enjoyed it but it's a nice listen ~~
Some Cher Lloyd just came on my shuffle, and it's a real shame nothing after Sticks & Stones charted. Although I'm not as fan as find her personality very off putting, Oath is such a jam, and easily would have gotten a 9 from me in this rate. And Sirens is stunningly flawless, probably would have been one of my 11s
I wish >
The Afrojack remix of Collide>>>>>
That breakdown gives me life *.*
'Sirens' more than likely would have been an 11 for me too if it was included. What a beautiful song
Oh if only I saw this when the rate was open.
Damn!
Oh I of course love Collide, but I adore Fade Into Darkness a lot more and it shares the same Penguin sample. Oh and it least impressive in the chart, near the bottom of the top 200 I think
#35 | Alexandra Burke - 'The Silence' (AVG. 7.74)
'The Silence' is the next of our tracks to leave us. Once hearing the album I always thought this would make a great single choice. But I imagined it without a messy re-release schedule. Her vocals towards the end of this song are incredible and showcase why she is one of the strongest singers we've ever had on the show. Such a gorgeous track.
#34 | Ella Henderson - 'Yours' (AVG. 7.76)
So up next is another act from X Factor who is highly regarded as having one of the best voices on the show. I however, disagree. I find her voice horrible a lot of the time. I find it too warbly and it just sounds like she's gargling water, but she's released one jam so I can't complain. This is not that jam unfortunately. It's a nice enough song, but I really would appreciate it a lot more if sung by someone else. I believe this charted after being used in a huge scene on Hollyoaks, and Syco (?) noticed and decided to push it as a proper single. I think it did very well too. So kudos to her. (Although I still think 'Pieces' should've been released as a single at some point!)
#33 | Sigma - Glitterball (feat. Ella Henderson) (AVG. 7.8)
Just like that, we lose another Ella song. This time it's the collaboration with Sigma. A song I have never got the fuss over, despite liking Sigma's previous stuff (and 'Coming Home' which came after). Again, I just think it's her voice more than anything. Her voice is for a very acquired taste. You're either gonna like it, or you're not.
#32 | Olly Murs - 'Dear Darlin'' (AVG. 7.82)
At #32 and after managing to stay a little while since his last dropout, we have Olly Murs' 3rd single from his 3rd album, 'Dear Darlin''! A song which seems to appeal to the more "casual" fans. It seems to be the one that gave him the most credibility, which he seemed to lose with the release of 'Hand On Heart' as the 6th single. Such a euphoric and uplifting bit of production in the final half of this song. I think I'd have placed it a few places higher, personally.
#31 | One Direction - 'Kiss You' (AVG. 7.83)
Now it's time for some pure, unadulterated POP. JUST PURE POP. Got to hand it to One Direction, when they get it right, they get it SO RIGHT. 'Kiss You' is a JAM and is their second best single for me! The chorus is packed with a punch. Such an enjoyable piece of pop music which doesn't tend to take itself to seriously. Something which the charts kinda lack nowadays </3
Yes now we're getting to the luscious ones <3
Kiss You as low as 31 that saddens me greatly. It's their best song imo. Absolute classic
The big one there for me is The Silence, which is an amazing ballad, I don't know why they waited until the re-release to release this though.
Eeeeek top 30 time!
Just re-listening to 'Overcome' (album) for the first time in what must be 5 years and 'Good Night, Good Morning' is still a TUNE! Seriously missed singles opportunity there.
01. 'Bad Boys' [X Factor - 1st single etc...]
02. 'Good Night, Good Morning' [Feb-time]
03. 'All Night Long' [BGT - May-time] *Remix*
04. 'Broken Heels' [Aug-time]
05. 'The Silence' [X Factor - Oct]
That's how that era should've originally gone, imo. <3
I always stanned for 'What Happens on the Dancefloor', even though she's hardly in the song!
Also 'Nothing Matters But the Girl' <3
I used to love 'The Silence' but I think 'Perfect' would've been a much better single option considering it was a deluxe edition track.
It's a shame 'Before It Explodes' with Bruno never materialised, officially! That could've been huge.
The Silence is incredible. My favourite song from her entire discography and it is so under appreciated
The Silence and Dear Darlin' are both stunners
And on Burke's era I actually think they got it SPOT ON especially because The Silence got an XF performance and it wouldn't have got one if it was released earlier.
#30 | Olly Murs - 'My Heart Skips a Beat' (AVG. 7.92) (feat. Rizzle Kicks)
Another not half bad Olly Murs track, this time featuring Rizzle Kicks. Since this song was released, Rizzle Kicks broke with big success, having a huge first era, but have now already faded into irrelevancy.
#29 | JLS - 'She Makes Me Wanna' (feat. DEV) (AVG. 7.94)
The last JLS song in the rate misses the top 25, and how unjust. 'She Makes Me Wanna', is a certified banger and would easily be within my top 10 of the songs from this rate, it was so close to getting an 11 from me! Sure, this is elevated but Dev's genius verse, but it's also easily, JLS' most infectious chorus and is unlike anything they did otherwise. It still sounds phresh today.
#28 |Leona Lewis - 'Forgive Me' (AVG. 7.97)
This has done a lot better than I expected, there's always been a somewhat muted response to Leona's 'Forgive Me', which lead her first era re-release, but I've loved it since I first heard it. It's a shame it's underwhelming chart performance (which would look amazing for Leona right now), meant she never really did pop-rnb after this, but it remains a very fun pop song!
#27 |Olly Murs - 'Kiss Me' (AVG. 7.97)
We lost 1D's Kiss You a few songs ago and now we lose my favourite Olly Murs track 'Kiss Me'. As a fan of 80s style production, this always appealed to me, and while I'd have liked to have seen it within the top 25, we do have two Olly Murs songs remaining, 'Troublemaker' and 'Dance With Me Tonight'. Which will finish higher?
#26 |Leona Lewis - 'I Got You' (AVG. 7.98)
'I Got You' is sensational. Leona may have tried to make us forget about this powerful number, by recording another, far inferior song called 'I Got You' last year, but Buzzjack clearly remember this song well. It was so close to an 8 average, and so close to the top 25. It's very apt that everything within the top 25 has scored a minimum of an 8 average.
Ladies and Gentlemen, your top 25:
Leona Lewis:
'Better In Time'
'Bleeding Love'
'Happy'
'One More Sleep'
'Run'
Alexandra Burke:
'All Night Long' (feat. Pitbull)
'Bad Boys' (feat. Flo Rida)
'Broken Heels'
Diana Vickers:
'Once'
Olly Murs:
'Dance With Me Tonight'
'Troublemaker' (feat. Flo Rida)
One Direction:
'Night Changes'
'Story Of My Life'
'What Makes You Beautiful'
Little Mix:
'Black Magic'
'DNA'
'Love Me Like You'
'Move'
'Salute'
'Secret Love Song' (feat. Jason Derulo)
'Wings'
Amelia Lily:
'You Bring Me Joy'
Misha B:
'Do You Think Of Me?'
Ella Henderson:
'Ghost'
Fleur East:
'Sax'
It's great to see JLS in the top 30, used to love that one a lot in particular (well I still do but not as much)
HSAB is a great track (and Rizzle Kicks ) it doesn't sound as great today as it did years ago though
Forgive Me is an absolute jam, glad to see it do so well! Would have liked to have seen She Makes Me Wanna and Kiss Me go top 25 too, HSAB a bit to high for me
I Adore Forgive Me.
Amazed that 'I Got You' got a great placing in the top 30! Such a beautiful & powerful ballad. One of my faves from her!
I Got You is definitely my favourite Leona song, so incredibly brilliant
Glad to see JLS completely gone Wish Leona hadn't lost 2 songs though, I love both tracks and they both deserved more than what they got chart wise. Swap Broken Heels for The Silence and that would be the perfect top 3 Alexandra songs left in.
Predicting: Sax, Wings, Broken Heels, Night Changes, Once, Troublemaker, and maybe a Leona song out in the next couple of batches
'I Got You' i've always liked from Leona, it's such an interesting song structurally and the chorus always feels disjointed but right at the same time (if that makes sense ). 'Kiss Me' is fabulous too and my second favourite from Olly!
Lol, bye JLS.
That section being posted made me realise that I've never seen the video for 'The Silence' before. Ella's 'Yours' is a beauty. I'm still amused by the default image for the 'Glitterball' video. 'Kiss You' is one of 1D's very best songs. What a great section overall.
The section afterwards is amazing too. I'm thrilled that 'I Got You' is this high! It always seems so underappreciated to me. As does 'Forgive Me'. Quite surprised to see 'Kiss Me' this high actually, but it's definitely one of Olly's best. I prefer 'My Heart Skips a Beat' though - the first Olly single I really liked. Glad that 'She Makes Me Wanna' is the highest JLS song!
I'm glad that, even though Leona has lost two songs just now, they were 'Forgive Me' and 'I Got You' and not 'Happy' or OMS. FM is great but I much prefer the Labyrinth tour version. 'I Got You' is okay but in my opinion the weakest song on Echo.
If 'Better In Time' beats 'Happy', 'One More Sleep' or 'Bleeding Love' I wouldn't like it.
'Better In Time' is amaze! Always has been one of my faves from 'Spirit' and the single mix is wonderful
Better In Time is a classic, and with the exception of Bleeding Love, my fav Leona song left in, would like to see it go top 15
#25 | Amelia Lily - 'You Bring Me Joy' (AVG. 8)

Finishing lower than I anticipated, but also being the first song with an 8 Average is the midweek #1 smash 'You Bring Me Joy' (ultimately beaten to #1 by the far inferior 'Hall of Fame'). This was Xenomania produced, and had comparisons to Girls Aloud's 'Call The Shots'. I can kind of see it! I instantly fell for this track's euphoric beauty and can see why it was such an instant hit when it was released. It's a shame she peaked so early.
I do like YBMJ, but I think it's finished in about the right place for me
I thought YBMJ was meh for the "success" it got (it peaked at #2 I think?) but hearing it last New Year's Eve woke me up to it
Dear Darlin' My favourite song in the whole of this.
Wish YBMJ was higher, massive anthem and still listen to it regularly so would probably be in my top 10
'Dance With Me Tonight' is FAR too high if it's still to come, and to beat 'Heart Skips A Beat' is just ludicrous.
Good start to the top 25 with Amelia Lily, I still wish her album had been released
'Dance With Me Tonight' is in my top 3 Olly songs. SO pleased to see that it's still to come. I get that it's as MOR as they come, but I really love it!
'I Got You' is currently on repeat for me atm. Seriously adore it. But I think those that are above it are deserving of being above it, even though I would rank it higher than one or two of those still to come.
'You Bring Me Joy' is ok. I like it, but that's all. I don't find myself wanting to go back to it a lot. Which is a shame coz she was one of my absolute favourites from that series!
'You Bring Me Joy' is nice enough, I really like the verses in particular. I do think the chorus let's it down though.
'You Bring Me Joy' is incredible. I wasn't too keen initially but I gradually begin to appreciate how much of an ear-worm/interesting song it was. Has continued to age really well too!
Love 'You Bring Me Joy', that and 'California' are my two fave Amelia Lily tracks
I've always loved 'I Got You', definitely one of Leona's best so I've very glad to see it still in the running!
On the other hand, I don't get the love for 'You Bring Me Joy', the song/vocal delivery is so monotonous. No joy is to be had.

This will forever be remembered to me as the song that beat Girls Aloud's far superior 'Something New' to number 1. And though it's always been a bone of contention to me, admittedly... it is a jam, easily one of Olly's better and more infectious melodies. It features Flo Rida, who Olly admitted he'd never met or talked to. I wonder if they've still not met?
great song, but again, wouldn't have it any higher. I loved it when it came out (though I agree, I remember being pissed that it beat Something New to number 1) but it's not a song I go to these days
Echoing a few others, I never really understood the love for 'You Bring Me Joy'. 25th is too high imo.
Troublemaker - one of Olly's v good songs ;o
2 good songs there, but not my fav from either's discography. Shut Up and Up >>>.

Here we have another powerful ballad from Leona. 'Happy' was the lead single of Echo, and to many's disappointment, it didn't hit #1 in the UK, even though it deserved to. Though performing decently, 'Happy' deserved a lot better overall. The vocals, the emotion, chorus.
Happy is pretty fab! I think it's a bit too high here but I do still enjoy it a lot.

Perhaps surprisingly high, we have Night Changes from 1D. It was released as the second single from the boys' fourth album FOUR, and peaked at a decent #7 in the official chart, at the time becoming their highest peaking post-album single (History went one better with its #6 peak earlier this year however). The song features Harry on lead vocals in the chorus, which is ALWAYS in the recipe for a great 1D track, and it was the last single to feature Zayn. My third fave of theirs after What Makes You Beautiful and Drag Me Down, glad it's done well here!! Harry Flynn better be taking cover rn x
Night Changes is wonderful. Easily within my top 3 1D songs, so I'm really glad it's done so well here. Zayn looks really hawt in that still, so much better than now.
That's the first time I've ever actually seen the 'Night Changes' video. Jesus, it made my skin itch. How nauseating. Regardless, it's probably 1D's best bar 'Kiss You', so I have no qualms about it being this high.
Night Changes is probably one of my least favorite 1D singles. The Four album had so much more songs which had single potential but with the boys getting lazy and Zayn leaving there were no more singles.
Happy is great. Night changes is too, though in my opinion too high, much better 1D songs have gone, as amazing as it is
Night Changes is ok but I think it's a bit on the high side here.
Two good songs! I used to hate 'Happy' and find it unlistenable but I appreciate it now. 'Night Changes' is one of their best, beautiful song <3
A massive NO at Happy only getting to #23. Although I'm quite surprised it got this high tbh.
Zayn looks stunning in the Night Changes video.
I really liked Amelia Lily's 'You Bring Me Joy' at the time and glad that it was a success and thought that she'd have a decent career ahead of her. But sadly never happened thanks to that awful follow up 'Shut Up' which was dreadful and honestly thought that 'Party Over' would have put her back on top, which was a great tune that didn't deserve to tank, maybe if 'PO' was the follow up to 'YBMJ' then things might have been different.
I like Olly Murs 'Troublemaker' and honestly think that it's his best song to date. But at the moment his last album singles haven't been all that great and none of them singles have really stood out for me, none of them really felt that major to me. Okay the first 2 singles 'Wrapped Up' & 'Up' did really well and were pretty decent, but they don't feel as iconic or memorable as his earlier singles such as 'Dance With Me Tonight' or 'Dear Darlin'. Then the album's other singles flopped 'Seasons' only managed a #34 peak and 'Beautiful To Me' bombed at #94 and they decided to call that a promo single after it's poor position, so now it doesn't rank amongst his other singles. Then there's 'Kiss Me' which honestly I don't find all that good and only managed a #11 peak and it's pretty much forgotten now and did 'Stevie Knows' actually get released, I still don't know as there was no hype for that whatsoever. I just feel that he's starting to lose steam and if he doesn't score a big hit with his next album, then maybe I fear that his career might be finished.
Leona Lewis - Happy, now honestly I loved her first album and singles, but for me everything went wrong with her second album, only 2 singles were released and the album itself was great and had so many potential smashes such as 'Outta My Head' which for the life of me I never understood why that wasn't the 2nd single instead of the just ok 'I Got You'. She just never recovered from this and just kept fading with each album and now her career is basically dead now. As for 'Happy', it's a nice song, but don't think it should have been the lead single, I think 'Can't Breathe' would have been a much better choice and it wouldn't have felt like 'Bleeding Love Pt 2'.
One Direction - Night Changes = Yes definitely one of their best songs and coming from 'Four' which is definitely their best album packed with so many great songs. It was such a shame that this was the last Zayn single, as he did have one of the best and interesting vocals in the group.
YES SAM! *.* 'Can't Breathe' would've been a stunning (and interesting) lead single choice. It might've given her a bit more credibility tbh. I think it'd have been one of those "risks" that shouldn't have paid off, but ultimately would have. 'Can't Breathe' > 'Outta My Head' > 'Naked' > 'Lost Then Found' would've been the perfect run of singles imo.
I really like 'Happy' and was gutted the inferior 'Meet Me Halfway' was the song to beat it to number 1, but I can see why it under performed. And 'Night Changes' is a funny one for me. Sometimes I really like it, sometimes I don't really care for it.

Just missing out on the top 20, is Little Mix's first proper single. This stormed into the charts at #1, and has sold not far off 600k in the UK up to now. I'd say that it hasn't aged quite as well as 'DNA' for example, but it's still a fun, full of life track. It only recieved one 10, from Slick, but got a lot of 9s, which is how it's charted so high here. It may be a bit too simple and fluffy to be one of my favourites from them, but nothing will stop me from dancing to it when it comes on.
(thank god their styling has improved since this video)
I will always love Wings because it was the first proper LM we ever got, but I agree it hasn't aged the best, and it isn't one of my go tos for LM. Glad to see it do so well though
'Wings' is way too low
I absolutely love 'Wings' - definitely one of the highlights when performed on tour!

Into the top 20 we go and it's one of a few feminist anthems. Courtesy of in-producer of the time RedOne, we have the Beasts second proper single, 'Broken Heels'. It's a song that I always think I should love a whole lot more than I actually do. It's very catchy, Burkey sounds good and it has a great video, but there's something about this that screams "pound shop" to me and I can't tell what it is. It's a bop all the same though, I guess I was just hoping for something more "wholesome". But It's managed to bag it's way into a top 20 position in this countdown and leaving her with 2 songs left. G'WON BURKEY!!!!
Love Broken Heels. You're right, when I'm not in the mood to hear it and I do, I do think: gah! this is so cheap. But most of the time (especially when it comes on in a club) it's an absolute jam!
Never found the appeal of 'Broken Heels', find it totally overrated and it's way too high on here, should be lower top 40 maybe. But that's just my opinion and I do like Alexandra Burke, she's had some great tunes 'Bad Boys' & 'All Night Long' are both fantastic. Found she went downhill after 'Start Without You' and her 2nd album was a total letdown.
Broken Heels is a lot of fun, but I'd have it about 15 places lower, possibly. It is nowhere near as good as the two sensational Alexandra songs still to come!
'Wings' is pretty meh as far as LM singles go.
'Broken Heels' though My Marthas tune but did not expect to see it top 20! Such a banger.
How on earth did Night Changes place higher than Happy? is this a joke? it's good to see Broken Heels doing so well though The Silence should be higher than it.

Here we have the sublime, gorgeous ballad 'Better In Time', the far superior A side to 'Footprints in the Sand'. I still hear this on the radio occasionally, it's fair to say it's become a fondly remembered Leona song. Somebody remove Scene's Leona mod position for that 3!
Beautiful song, really happy it went top 20
Well I for one class 'Broken Heels' as Alexandra's best... total TUNE.
'Better In Time' is up there with my Leona favourites, it's a highlight of her singles discography for me.
'Better In Time' is stunning. So, SO beautiful and really under appreciated. It's always been a standout from the 'Spirit' album for me, so when I heard news that it'd be the second single I was ecstatic. <3 Really happy to see it received so well on here as I thought it'd get lost in the shuffle a bit.

Up next it's Olly Murs' highest entry in this countdown and deservedly so too, imo. I really don't understand why I love it so much, but it's really one of my favourite songs by him. I think this retro sound really works in his favour and he manages to deliver with it. It's as MOR as they come, but it's so catchy and just a generally strong pop song in it's own right. Pleasantly surprised by it's position in this countdown.
Love Dance With Me Tonight, great to see it do so well!!
Glad to see Better in Time make the top 20. Looks like Little Mix are gonna have quite a few singles in the top 10 at this rate.
Oops, missed 18! Coming in a second....

So here we have Diana Vickers debut single and last song in this rate. The rather infectious 'Once'! Such a different type of pop song than what you'd expect from someone coming from X Factor at the time. She waited a while to release something, but if you've heard the album, you'll understand why it took so long... it's GREAT. 'Once' stormed it's way to number 1 here in the UK and went onto to be her only decent sized hit. She tried to replicate it's success with an inferior version, but that flopped and "only" went top 40.

Despite this rate taking part on the Little Mix forum, Little Mix seem to be one of the most popular artists on Buzzjack at the current time, so it's not a huge surprise that they've still got so many songs left in the rate. However, 'Salute' falls just short of the top 15. 'Salute' was lucky to have done well in the charts in the end, after 'Word Up's failure to do much, support was somewhat muted for 'Salute', however, it all changed when they put on a typically fearsome performance on X Factor, which had them shoot into the top 10. 'Salute' has now become one of their signature singles, more remembered to casual audiences to some of their higher sellers. How many of Little Mix's 5 remaining songs will make the top 10...? Will one of them win?
'Salute' deserved top 10! Such an epic, female power anthem! Loved every single performance I've seen of this!
The 5 Little Mix songs still in: DNA, Black Magic, Secret Love Song, Love Me Like You, Move. The correct 5 for sure. Great to see Leona's Christmas anthem still in!
Also, Once is great! After it went to number 1 I thought she'd have a much longer career in the charts. :/
Once is a completely flawless song, shame it didn't go top 15, I almost gave it one of my 11s. I too expected Diana have a really long successful career after the success of Once, and SFTTCT, but for whatever reason it never happened
Salute is an absolute banger, and my favourite LM single, which considering how strong their others are says a lot! Really hoped it would be top 10/5, but I knew of the 6 LM songs left in it would probably be the first to go. I could see DNA coming top 10, and SLS, Move, LMLY, and BM all in the top 6, and Move and Black Magic taking 2 and 3 but I still expect Bleeding Love to win
Great Countdown so far. Did Laura White's 'You Should Have Knwon' not qualify?
Salute, Once, Better In Time & Broken Heels... all incredible!
Dance With Me Tonight is definitely one of Olly's best too.
Aww at Night Changes being met with so much indifference, it's a lovely song. Story of My Life is my favourite 1D ballad though.
Just listening to SFTTCT for the first time in ages. First thing, WOW what an album fantastic, forgot how much I loved it. Second thing, this was six years ago? wow time flys!!
Ahhhh. I knew there'd be an omission or two haha. Sorry about that It wasn't left out on purpose. But with so many songs, I knew something would be missed out
Y'all the voting thread was open for a month! Now is not not the time to think of omissions
Salute is probably in my top 3 of LM's singles, really catchy
And Better In Time really shows Leona's vocals, that maybe could have finished higher for me.
Hopefully WMYB and Sax miss the top 10.
Happy is a STUNNING song. I've always loved it.
I'm surprised I gave Wings the highest score! I thought that was a fan fave and it always seem to go down so well when they perform it. Salute is awesome too, but I wouldn't put it higher than Wings (although when it's performed live it is EPIC.)
I feel like Better In Time is overlooked/forgotten these days in favour of Bleeding Love and Run, but it was a strong single choice which still sounds good today. And of course Dance With Me Tonight is brilliant, but then I do like Olly a little too much.
Getting better and better, save for a few misfires!
'Better in Time' is my favourite of the ones since I last commented! A real beauty of a song <3 'Salute' is fun too~

One Direction's second biggest hit (and second highest here) is now out of the countdown! I'm delighted they've managed two songs in the top 15, with What Makes You Beautiful still to come of course. Story of My Life was released as the second single from the boys' third album Midnight Memories in 2013, and debuted at #4 in the chart, eventually peaking at #2 and spending an impressive 10 weeks top 10! It's gone on to sell over 600k and has been certified platinum, one of three 1D singles to cross that mark, alongside the aforementioned WMYB plus Steal My Girl!
Really enjoy 'Story Of My Life'. It's very nice and I really like the video. It's perhaps a bit too high for me, but I like it.
I love Story of My Life. I wasn't crazy about it at first because it was sooo different to any of their other songs (maybe with the exception of the snoozefest Little Things) so I was a bit on the fence over it, but it has aged very well, and is one of my go to 1D songs. I would have placed it below Kiss You, as well as WMYB, but I see why it's the second most popular 1D song, and probably about where I'd like to see it finish here
WMYB for top 5 pls
I think 'Story Of My Life' will be the 1D song that will be played regularly on Heart in 10 years time.
I do enjoy that 1D single. I echo the comments that I wasn't crazy about it when it was first released, but it has aged like a fine wine. I didn't realise only 3 1D songs were plat, I'm really glad SMG is one of those!
'Once' Truly incredible song. I would say should have finished higher, but 17th seems a decent placing.
'Story Of My Life' is definitely one of 1D's best.

Here we have the most recent Leona UK top 40 appearance. Slowly becoming a Christmas Classic, 'One More Sleep' is a perfect blend of old and new, bringing fun modern production to a timeless motown sound. This was a huge surprise hit, in 2013, spending two weeks in the UK top 3 and is Buzzjack's 3rd favourite Leona song!
Seems a bit odd that OMS is higher than BIT, I do think both are great though.
Shouldn't be that high :/ it's very NICE but she has much better singles.
I'm gonna curse it now and it'll drop out next or something but 'Do You Think of Me' still in this
So glad OMS is this high. It's one of Leona's strongest singles - probably her most "instant" one actually.
Love One More Sleep, one of my go to christmas songs, and is definitely on it's way to becoming a classic. Wouldn't have it any higher though
#13 Fleur East - 'Sax' (AVG. 8.62)

At the unlucky number of 13, we have Fleur East and her smash hit 'Sax'! So you can take a sigh of relief Bal, 'Do You Think Of Me?' is still in! *.* But anyway, I really thought this would be in the top 10! 'Sax' went on to become a big hit for Fleur. It was one of the best single campaigns I think I've ever witnessed by an X Factor act. It had literally everything. Promo, airplay, adverts, catchy hook and infectious sound. It's a shame all momentum was pretty much stopped after it. But it's a great song in it's own right. The only thing that really let it down was the video! So that's why I'm linking to the X Factor performance of it instead! SLAY.
'Sax' is awful. I really loved Fleur throughout the competition but the song sounds gimmicky, cheap and even her vocal sounds annoying on it. I think Fleur is so much better that. I always thought the nature of the song would be difficult to get past but the Asda adverts and Ł10 video really didn't help matters. I'm really glad this didn't make the top 10 as I find it horrendously overrated and it already sounds dated despite being only being a few months old.
Don't @ me
I do like it, and I loved it at the time of this rate because I gave it a 9.5, but I agree with Joe, it's been out like 4 months, and it's already aging so badly!, probs would have given it a 7 if I were to score now.
Sax is incredible! THAT performance! *.* (I wonder why it was removed from YouTube ?)
I grew to Sax but #13 is ridiculously high imo
Thrilled to see 'Story Of My Life' so deservedly high! After reading the commentary I'm surprised that 'Steal My Girl' is certified platinum!
#12 Misha B - 'Do You Think Of Me' (AVG. 8.652)

I'm in total shock that this song managed to get as high as this in the rate, it's by far the lowest selling song in the top 25, so easily the the most unknown. But when you listen to it, it's quite clear how it managed to haul in such high scores. It's an emotional and powerful dance ballad. A total anthem. I don't know why it wasn't a bigger hit, even now it sounds like something that could still zoom in at #1. I'd have liked to have seen this make the top 10 here, seeing as it was so close, it's within my top 5 from this rate, I'd say. But I still think #12 is an incredible achievement, for the somewhat forgotten Misha B.
Incredible. Wish I had given it an 11 now
Since starting this rate, I've been getting back into it in a big way! Such a powerful anthem! Really relateable too! Really caught me off guard that I'd end up loving a Misha B song as much as I do with this as I really hated her on XF and thought she was all hype.
I'm really glad DYTOM has managed to finish so high It really is a fantastic, emotional song, and definitely one of the best in this rate. Shame it didn't get enough points to sneak top 10, but 12 is very respectable going against other artists with such huge followings in comparison
DYTOM is a cracker of a song. I remember finding it a bit overrated at the time, but its aged wonderfully. I imagine if just about anyone else released it, it would've been huge.
DYTOM is the kind of song Rita Ora needs this era (I find it similar to her stuff), but she hasn't quite managed to put out anything as good, yet.
A true masterpiece. You all know my feelings on the song - I firmly believe it's the best song the show has ever produced. Gives me such HUGE feelings everytime I listen to it Will never be topped and one of my favourite songs of the past decade from ANY artist. I could go on :'(
Glorious. Shocked to see it so high, but highly deserving!
'Sax' is good but its too 'Uptown Funk' for me to like it in its own right. Out of the two songs, I'd always favour 'Uptown Funk'.
I'm shocked 'Do You Think of Me' has made it to #12. I remember really liking it back in 2012 but, listening to it now, the production seems a bit cheap. Still a solid song though.
I did not know Misha B..but I love this song..so I went to listen to her other songs, but they are not at the same level
Shame better in time by leona being that low should have been like #11 especially above OMS
I like little mix and I know we are on their thread..but the top 10 should all be iconic songs and I do not think so many little mix songs deserve the top 10
#11 One Direction - 'What Makes You Beautiful' (AVG. 8.81)

Just missing out on that top 10 spot is the incredibly infectious, debut pop single from that little band known as OneDirection. 'What Makes You Beautiful' was the song which kickstarted a phenomenon! One Direction were the absolute peak for boy bads in recent times and it's not hard to see why when they were bringing the pop goods. Looking back at the video though, what kind of Boyband reject group were they trying to be?! But seriously, a thoroughly deserved position for One Direction and it was really quite close to going top 10!
They grew so much as performers overtime but the song remains their best. I'd have loved to have seen it sneak into the top 10, but 11 out of 128 is very good on boyband-hating Buzzjack.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know 11 out of so many songs is amazing, but I'm so surprised this didn't make the top 5, it's one of the first songs I think of when I think of X-Factor acts, i mean obviously because 1D are it's biggest success story, and this is their biggest song, but also because it's already such a classic.
Not mad at 11, but would have liked to see it higher
So your top 10 isssss
Leona Lewis:
'Bleeding Love'
'Run'
Alexandra Burke:
'All Night Long' (feat. Pitbull)
'Bad Boys' (feat. Flo Rida)
Little Mix:
'Black Magic'
'DNA'
'Love Me Like You'
'Move'
'Secret Love Song' (feat. Jason Derulo)
Ella Henderson:
'Ghost'
ALL (bar NONE) are pop classics either future or now, doesn't matter. They'll all go down and be well remembered, imo. So what are your predictions! Half of the top 10 belong to our girls, but which one will come out on top? Will any of them win?
Loving that the top 10 is all female even more in love that 5 are LM!!
prediction:
10th All Night Long
9th Love Me Like You
8th Ghost
7th DNA
6th Run
5th Bad Boys
4th Secret Love Song
3rd Black Magic
2nd Move
1st Bleeding Love
Those Little Mix Songs are all 10/10 apart from SLS which in hindsight is more of a 9/10 and should be a bit lower, but as I've mentioned it's obviously benefited from being the most current song on the list.
I'd have Run lower, too because I find it very overrated. I'd love to see either Black Magic, All Night Long or Bleeding Love win (totally objectively of course )
Prediction:
01. Black Magic
02. Bleeding Love
03. Love Me Like You
04. DNA
05. Ghost
06. Move
07. Run
08. All Night Long
09. Secret Love Song
10. Bad Boys
'Secret Love Song' and 'Love Me Like You' are too high but other than those, can't argue with that top 10!
So SO pleased 'Do You Think Of Me' managed to get as high as #12
If there is any justice All Night Long comes top 3
Prediction:
01. Bleeding Love
02. Ghost
03. Black Magic
04. Run
05. Move
06. DNA
07. Bad Boys
08. Secret Love Song
09. Love Me Like You
10. All Night Long
Ughh WMYB should really be top 10, it's by far the best song on the list imo Love Me Like You being top 10 ahead of it feels slightly insulting even if this has happened in the LM forum.
Rachel Adedeji Club Lights and Follow The DJ should have been top 20.
To this day I can't hear Rachel Adedeji without hearing the X-Factor announcer guy bellowing it
People seem to have qualms about LMLY being ahead of others, but of the LM songs, it's 'DNA' that sticks out for me. I've always found it a great track, but I've never been hugely enamoured with it like a lot of their other discography. That being said, I'd probably have most the top 10 consisting of LM songs, so I'm glad it's still in. 'Run' is the huge outlier for me, possibly because I prefer the original.
#10 Little Mix - 'DNA' (AVG. 8.84)
Highest Scores:

We go straight into the top 10 with a Little Mix song and it's 'DNA', the second single from the debut album of the same. It performed nowhere near as well as 'Wings', which is a shame because most would agree that it's vastly superior. In contrast to the light and disney-esque 'Wings', 'DNA' is a dark, moody track that fits in at any Halloween party.
I think 'Love Me Like You' should be this high. It's a fantastic Ronettes-inspired track and the chorus is incredible. It might be an unpopular opinion but I think it's far superior to 'Black Magic'. I wouldn't put 'Secret Love Song' or 'DNA' this high though.
I think #11 is the right position for 'What Makes You Beautiful'. As far as debut boyband singles go, it is in a completely different league to the likes of 'Carry You' and 'Beat Again' but it's still a bit too cheesy for me. I think 'Story Of My Life' and 'Night Changes' should have been the two highest 1D tracks.
I agree about Love Me Like You, it's easily my favourite Little Mix song with Black Magic. It's more subtle, but it's superbly executed!
As much as I like it, I do think DNA is too high for my taste, it's not one of my favourite LM songs, but happy to see it make top 10 nonetheless. Would like to see Bad Boys out next, or Run (I too prefer the original)
What's with the sudden influx of 'Run' hate and shade?! The original is in my top 5 songs ever (well, it's always one that pops up whenever I'm asked) but the cover is PHENOMENAL. Definitely my 2nd favourite cover of all time! (Behind Johnny Cash - Hurt!)
EDIT: And in a rate of X Factor songs, I don't think any of us can really argue with the top 10 we have, irregardless of how "recent" certain songs are or whatever. They all seem to be genuinely liked around the forum and have their fans!
'DNA' should not come beneath 'Secret Love Song' (which tbh, shouldn't even be in the Top 25). HOWEVER, I am thrilled that it is Top 10. A proper huge anthemic smash.
Gosh I came to moan about some of the songs in the top 10 especially the few LM songs that shouldn't really be here and then the 2nd best one of theirs drops out
All Night Long still in though <3

Here we have Alexandra's debut single from 'Overcome', her first album. 'Bad Boys' is iconic, huge anthem about falling for the wrong kind of guys. 'Bad Boys' sold a huge amount, shooting to #1 in the UK but being knocked off after a week by her ex-X Factor mentor Cheryl. This recicved a huge amount of high scores, and of course, that low score from Chez.
I really like bad boys (the song)
It's a huge tune, and I'm glad, that even though Alexandra is largely irrelevant in terms of pop these days, her two best songs still made the top 10!
Bad Boys is fantastic, 9 is about where i'd have put it, definitely one of x factor's best
Bad Boys and DNA are both terrific
Loving seeing my name so much in the 'lowest scores' sections Sorry, but I find so many of these songs really overrated and boring if not complete crap, X Factor is just sometimes so inauthentic it's hard not to see that so clearly in the music, Leona Lewis in particular, I struggle to think of a less interesting artist :/
I really hope Ghost wins, that is by far my fave ever X Factor song (ahead of What Makes You Beautiful, which really should've been top 10, the uni memories <3)
I'm glad 'Bad Boys' is now out, and even more glad 'All Night Long' has managed to rate higher despite not being as big a hit for her. BB is too cheesy for my liking and was underwhelming when I first heard it on the radio.
I literally change my opinion on 'Bad Boys' and 'All Night Long' pretty much everyday. One day I like the other more! They're both absolutely brilliant and perfectly crafted pop songs. I'm surprised BB couldn't beat ANL (lol at that abbreviation), but I'm not too devastated by it and I'm just extremely happy that they both got top 10!
Really glad All Night Long is the highest Burke song Bad Boys is good and 9 is definitely about right for it ~
#08 Little Mix - 'Secret Love Song' (feat. Jason Derulo) (AVG. 8.96)

And at #8 we have the 2nd of 5 Little Mix entries into the top 10, 'Secret Love Song'. A collaboration between the girls and superstar Jason Derulo! It's one of the most powerful and big pop ballads we've had in recent times, imo. At least since 'My Heart Takes Over'! I wish more artists would give us songs like this. Just out and out, huge, big pop ballads. I know a lot of people seem to be against this being in the top 10, but I really don't. I think it's in it's rightful place tbh. I gave it an "11" to help it out more than anything and I'm glad to see other people seemingly like it. It seems to have generated a LOT of "9.5" scores which is why there aren't many "highest scorers".
I'm really growing to love this Version of SLS, and I am happy it made the top 10
Shouldn't have made the top 10. Recency (is that a word?) and the fact it's Little Mix obviously helped but even they have so many better songs.
I do really like it but it's not a CLASSIC.
I like SLS a bit less than I used to, it's still a solid number and a ballad I actually like, but I'd have probably placed it a little lower. The remaining 3 little mix songs definitely deserve their place in the top 10 though, Little Mix forum or no.
I still really like SLS but I loved it so much more a couple of months ago
'Bad Boys' is definitely Alexandra Burke's best single, and 'All Night Long' is great also, but find 'BB' much better, it's awesome and remember first hearing it at the time and instantly loving it and knew it would be huge. Also thought that she would have had a longer career, but all that with the label and her 2nd album tanking prevented all that and thought that she would have made some sort of comeback by now, but sadly still nothing and honestly think that her time has past now and will never reach that level of fame she had with her first album, which is such a shame as she's got a great voice and great charisma.
Oh I thought I gave 'Secret Love Song' a 10, anyway Little Mix are fantastic and getting better and stronger with each album and are now my favourite group from X Factor, (used to be One Direction) who I still love, but these girls have pipped them to the post now.
There should be at least 1D song in the top 10, I know 'What Makes You Beautiful' is wonderfully cheesy, but who cares it's great and they have produced some fantastic tracks through the years = 'Story Of My Life', 'Night Changes', 'Kiss You', 'Best Song Ever', 'Perfect', they are just to name a few and come on were they any cheesier than JLS who I must say were awful, apart from one or two songs like 'Beat Again', 'She Makes Me Wanna' & maybe 'Eyes Wide Shut', everything else was dire and they got worse with each album while One Direction got better and better with each album.
Mommy got it going on.

As we say goodbye to Alexandra Burke we say goodbye to her highest of highs, the sublime 'All Night Long', is her most polished and infectious melody. When I hear the opening chants of this song, I can't help but be filled with euphoric joy. Alexandra exuded such star quality with songs like this, and I still feel somewhat disappointed about how much she under performed beyond this album. She really had the whole package; vocals, performance skills and good, solid pop songs. If I remember correctly Radio 1 even snubbed this single, meaning it became a big hit from commercial airplay only.
Watching that video, I had forgotten how amazing All Night Long is *.*
Can't believe Radio 1 snubbed it!!!
I also can't believe I only gave it a 7!!!! WHAT KIND OF BITCHY MOVE
'DNA' is Little Mix's best single, glad to see that top 10
(I also agree with someone who said they prefer 'Love Me Like You' to 'Black Magic', the latter is awful)
All Night Long is great but a little too high I'd say, would personally have it about 20th! Prefer Broken Heels and Bad Boys from Alexandra's songs
All Night Long
Would've liked it ~5 places higher though ~
Great finishing position for 'All Night Long'! Really reminds me of Michelle Williams - We Break The Dawn and it's absolutely wonderful and a stomper of a pop tune <3
Also, the next song and performance never fails to give me shivers!

Just missing out on the top 5 is a song I really thought would be contending for the WIN! 'Run' is absolutely astonishing and is exactly how a cover should be done, imo. It is a song that would easily get my 11, if I wasn't too bothered about other songs being too low and needing my help more! It's crazy to think that this only started as a Live Lounge cover back in 2007. I believe it was the most requested Live Lounge performance of the time and people just wanted MORE from her. It's a cover that manages to be quite a bit different from the original but manages to capture the heart and emotion of it just as well! SYCO saw the demand for this song and it's only ever featured on one Live Lounge album, way after it's release and more of a "Best Of" as opposed to the annual release, but they managed to get this song an official release, a stunning X Factor performance and it stormed it's way to the top of iTunes once it was released (it wasn't released straight away!!!) with one of the biggest leads I have witnessed on the iTunes chart. It was a phenomenon.
Run deserved top 3 !!!!! And how dare is Joe giving a 2 ???????? ..I would not give it to the worst album filler
All Night Long shoulda been top 5 at least. Yall messes
Joe gave Run a 2??!
That performance of Run on The X Factor back in 2008 is, in my opinion, the single greatest XF performance of all time by a guest performer. Even if that does sound biased since I'm a huge Leona fan.
DNA is fab but it's quite overrated here I think
Secret Love Song is at quite a suitable position I think! Amazing track, and with all the jams included in this rate it might have seemed too overated had it been much higher.
I don't think Run is as bad as a 2 to be honest but I do think it's a nice cover and she sings is beautifully but it's horribly overrated, just because it was a hit. She has a huge amount of original songs that are much better. Happy, Collide, OMS and of course Bleeding Love.

'Black Magic' comes in at #5, being the third most popular Little Mix track here, which may be a surprise to some who saw it possibly topping the rate. 'Black Magic' is far and away Little Mix's most successful single, selling over 800k in the UK, where it's currently within the top 10 selling girlgroup singles of all time! Little Mix have a lot to thank 'Black Magic' for, it pushed their popularity to new heights, where they started to get huge amounts more radio support than ever before and expanded their fanbase hugely. It helped the next 3 singles gain more interest and support and is kind of like their commercial evolution into the big leagues within UK music. 'Black Magic' was followed by lots of huge performances and two Brit Award nominations... It may not be the most unique or groundbreaking song from them (which is why I think 'Move' and 'Love Me Like You' have placed higher), but it's still a huge pop anthem, which is catchy, infectious, unforgettable and rightfully deserves its place in the pop hall of fame.
Move, Ghost, Love Me Like You, Bleeding Love.
TOP FOUR PREDDIX?
Bleeding Love is the only one in the top 4 that I properly adore. Has to win.
Move to win please.
Surely Love Me Like You is out next?
Floored BM finishes in 5th! Fully expected top 3, maybe top 2. I would like to have seen it above Ghost, but can't complain too much.
Well I think LMLY will just miss top 3 in 4. Ghost 3, Move 2, and sticking with Bleeding Love as the winner. Now BM is out would love it if LMLY could defy the odds and win
Bleeding Love to win, please.
Black Magic and Love Me Like You are so overrated. They're good, but so so so overrated
The Leona fan in me wants 'Bleeding Love' to win but if I'm being completely honest, I want:
1. Love Me Like You
2. Bleeding Love
3. Move
4. Ghost
Ella's too overrated. Although I'll give it to her that 'Ghost' is a bit of a jam.

Finishing behind #3 due to lack of 11s, is the first song from Little Mix's second album 'Salute', which comes in 4th. 'Move' is so universally loved that even Chez gave it a 10, and if Haus gave it even 0.5 higher, it would have finished ahead of the song at #3. Either way, the first and second eras from Little Mix do feel somewhat overshadowed by how incredible the 'Get Weird' campaign has been, but I'm glad this one is still remembered so fondly. I remember upon hearing 'Move' first it was a bit of a wtf moment, it was nothing like anything off the first album, but really is the epitome of a grower. But once 'Move' works its magic on you, you can't forget it. I still stand by the opinion that 'Move' is very ahead of it's time, whilst still channeling the old school rnb feeling.
Move should have been number 1.
Such a tune
Comments or no top 3.
Ghost top 3 Lol what even.
'Move' is such an important song in their career. The second era for anyone is always difficult so it was very brave for them to return with a less than obvious hit considering that it is far from instant. The song is completely unique and I think it earned them a lot of credibility. It was a very bold statement that really paid off and it helped to distinguish themselves as a girlband!
It was the first time that their styling was on point as well! Their suits in the video are amazing.
IMO Ghost should have been behind Move, and even Black Magic. But really happy LMLY has made top 3! Think it will be next out though :/ I only really saw BM and Move as competition to Bleeding Love going into the top 10, so I am 100% certain it will win routing for LMLY though
BL for the win, hoping Ghost will be #2 and LMLY #3, Move should have been #2 though.
LMLY to pull off a shock win please, it just doesn't get old for me. Fully expecting BL to take it though.

LMLY shouldn't be anywhere NEAR this high oh Buzzjack.
1. Bleeding Love
2. Ghost
3. LMLY

Despite being the Little Mix forum, the girls do not manage a song in the top 2! However, 'Love Me Like You' makes it to #3. A hugely infectious slow-jam which seems genuinely loved across Buzzjack. Despite peaking at #11, 'Love Me Like You' had huge amounts of longevity in the charts, spending a consecutive 16 weeks in the top 40. Though this song may seem like a harmless number at first, it's filled with innuendos ('He may have the biggest c...'). As with 'Move', this was a very interesting choice of sound for Little Mix, it wasn't something we'd heard before. It was a motown influenced sound which drew comparisons to 'Be My Baby' and also Christmas in general. It's personally my favourite Little Mix, so I'm glad to have seen it get enough love to place so high, here!
Curses, was so hoping this would snatch the win. Such a gem of a song
Shocked Ghost has made top 2, had it pegged for a deserved top 10, but never expected it to do this well, but well done all the same. Bleeding Love to win!
Damn. 'Ghost' to win.

So we have a Ryan Tedder top 2. Your, rather surprisingly runner up is Ella Henderson, who I felt very much dark horse'd her way this high. But it's an undeniably powerful song, so I don't know why it feels like a huge surprise. I'm sure Mirror Man will be delighted, either way. 'Ghost' was a huge #1 for Ella, and it was so big, in fact, that it's yet to be seen whether she'll always be living in its shadow. But with a few decent collabs now in her discography, the future is bright for the talented Miss Henderson.

And of course, 'Bleeding Love' comes in at #1. Well done Leona! It's pleasing that it managed to top the poll considering it was one of the very few songs in the top 50 to receive a -1! 'Bleeding Love' is the best song to come out of the X Factor, it is timeless, a classic and it's no surprise as to why it was a smash around the world. Since 'Bleeding Love' Leona has had a fair few hits, but unfortunately has had very few successes in recent years due to poor management and declining interest. However, her talent, and this song will be remembered forever for putting X Factor on the map.
Fantastic number 1. Slay Bleeding Love!
The best song won, well done BuzzJack! 'Bleeding Love' completely blew me away upon first listen, and I was completely obsessed with it for months. It's a real shame that Leona's career has fizzled out, but her material is sadly rather average these days. If she could make a song as half as good as BL again, she'd be onto something good.
'Ghost' was an incredible debut, by far Ella's best track. Very worthy of being runner up! Hope she doesn't suffer a sophemore slump.
I do love 'Love Me Like You', but third seems a bit too high to me. Anyway... that, Move & Black Magic are my three fave LM songs so I'm glad these results reflect that! *.*
Great work and effort put into this, thank you to the LM mods! This was very enjoyable to take part in!
Bleeding Love is absolutely the right winner. No single from ANY X Factor contestant has been such an international smash. It kicked off the X Factor brand here and worldwide. The song is also STUNNING.
Ghost deserved Top 15 - maybe Top 10 at a PUSH. #2 does baffle me though.
Thanks to everyone who commented! And thanks to fellow-mod Jonjo and Joseph for his guest-hosting. Sorry the results were riddled with mistakes. :'( Brain dead after going through 128 songs.
Thanks to the 3 of you for putting all the effort in with this,it's been great!
I thought it was odd upon the reveal that 'Hair' got so high, but in hindsight, now it's a fully fledged single, I'm very glad 'Hair' managed the top 50!
Pretty good top 10 there, I'd have liked to see all three Misha B tracks a bit higher because she is pretty great (such a shame we never hear from her any more), especially Home Run. Really happy LMLY came out on top for LM too, I do like Move but always found it overrated when people say it's their best so glad we have settled on a new #1 for them.
The right winner definitely. It's still pretty much universally adores and is such a stellar ballad.
Wouldn't have the rest of the top 3 anywhere near the top but apart from that this has gone well I think! Thanks for hosting Joe/others that provided commentaries <3
Very good top 3 and a very deserved no.1, i wonder why i didn,t give it a 10/11.
My personal top 5 would have been:
1) Bleeding Love
2) Do You Think of Me
3) Love Me Like You
4) All Night Long
5) She Makes Me Wanna
My top 5 would have been:
1) Nothing's Real But Love
2) Salute
3) Backtrack
4) Bleeding Love
5) Black Magic or Once or Kiss You
Thanks for all the effort guys, really enjoyed it
Can only sort my personal top 3:
1. Do You Think of Me
2. All Night Long
3. Bleeding Love
Not sure after that. Maybe Black Magic, YBMJ, multitude of Burke songs??
So glad to see Leona won, Bleeding Love is just amazing. I found myself listening to it more and more in the last few months and it still sounds so good and it's easy to see why it blew up like it did, I wish Leona still had that kind of success. Would have loved to have seen Move and The Silence/Bad Boys at #2 and #3 though.
