Strange editing, gives it a weird non-live feel. Good overall so far though.

It is amazing how Connie has aged and Amanda still looks the same.

Bello Nock was amazing, has to go through! I remember his audition on AGT, really liked him then.

How embarrassing to go from such a class act as Kseniya (EASILY one of my faves of any Got Talent I've seen, what a woman) to these idiots flossing and prancing about in Star Wars gear

Was anyone expecting a real-life Tom to appear on stage? That was weird.

Not feeling the comedians or Boogie Storm but I've enjoyed the quality of this otherwise today! Still can't get over how insane those guys from the US were
It was sweet to see Connie back, after watching her audition all those years ago. |

It's a shame only one can go through, I'd love the Nelson Twins, Ashleigh & Sully and the salsa dancers to go though but ofc it's bound to be Paul Potts

So it is between the Stormtroopers and the long lost relative of Jedward.

Imagine coming all the way from Australia or India and losing to... THAT.
Thank God the better act went through but I'd still have put them below most of other acts tonight... Not fussed Paul wasn't top 3 but I am shocked at that!! Not mad at Bello and Annelise going through but for me it should have been the Indian salsa dancers! It's great to start the final off with two variety acts though. |

Totally forgot this was on.
I seen who won the entire thing by accident on Twitter but think I’ll watch regardless. Silly not to have it live. Is the American champions format the same? |

Yep, only difference is they have superfans around the country rather than the studio audience. I think it makes more sense having a bigger pool to base results off of like that. Tbh I get it not being live, it must be a scheduling nightmare having acts from all around the world who probably perform all the time and are already successful in one way or another, so they probably fit it together and filmed when they can to broadcast later I imagine. I know it's not great in terms of leaked results but they could make them sign NDAs or something, the US results never leaked. I quite like it being a bit different to a normal series, it's a spin-off, especially as the results will be a bit more unpredictable having the audience vote. |

I agree in a way now I’ve read your post Liam.
Like if it had been a public vote the BGT acts would all have a big advantage in my opinion. Paul Potts would’ve easily won that semi in my opinion had it been a vote like that he’d have probably got like half the vote just on him. |

They'll probably have a wildcard, one of the best US winners didn't get through normally but she got the wildcard and ended up coming 2nd in the final!

Interesting video from Hollie Steel regarding her experience on BGT. Might be a bit off topic but this is the first time I've seen her since she was on the show and blimey she has really blossomed! Don't think she will have a hard time getting attention from lads. Kind of makes me feel old at the same time The series she was on was easily the most iconic of all and my personal fave. It's the series that always first comes to mind whenever I hear about Britain's Got Talent. If contestants other than Diversity from the 2009 series had spread onto the future series they could have won I think. I don't think any other series of Britain's Got Talent has been as competitive as the 2009 series was. |

That was a good video to watch re Hollie.
I totally believe what she said as well. She’d have been manipulated into saying things like that especially when she was a child. Totally believe what she said about song choices as well. There’s too many people who’ve said things about song choices on Cowell shows for there not to be something in it which is why I’m often baffled when the judges say it wasn’t the right song. I think the year she was on the show it was probably less staged than what it is now but her semi final night is one I’ll always remember for a ten year old to experience that looking back it must’ve been awful but I’m glad she’s still stuck at performing. I didn’t realise she was on the show in the big series too. I’d agree that the 2009 series was the strongest. It’s weird to remember this but I was on holiday in the Canary Islands I think I was Tenerife when it aired and a load of British bars were live broadcasting the final so it felt like a real event usually when I go abroad it’s only really football matches or sport what people flock too to watch but it seemed like a really big deal at the time! If Diversity done this series they’d have walked it I think, no other dance group act comes close year on year we see the same types of acts trying to be them but they pale when compared. Twist and pulse winning the whole thing of the champions feels so random. No disrespect to them but they really aren’t the all time best act. Spoiler contains mention of the winner of this series so don’t read if you don’t wish to know. This post has been edited by Jordan Lee: Sep 2 2019, 10:52 AM |
