I find there are other tracks that feel like that should be bigger especially from the first time around. In my mind it feels like Magic, Fire and Changes should at least be Gold status not Silver. Not to mention the never ending wait for A Million Love Songs to only go Silver seems baffling to me. Pray considering it was #1 for a month and is still well received today also feels like it should be a Platinum selling single. It's good that Never Forget managed to get over to the barrier sales threshold. Of the more recent singles I was sure Said It All would have gone Silver sooner rather than later and if Giants is continued to be used as background music than it could slowly get there over time.

Relight My Fire, Pray, and A Million Love Songs are also songs that feel they were much bigger in sales terms than what they are.

However, it was released in October so didn't have a full year worth of sales. Love Ain't Here Anymore and Why Can't I Wake Up with You have sold only a fraction more than Sure in the UK. Could It Be Magic sold over 100,000 copies more also.

BuzzJack Legend Joined: 11 June 2011 Posts: 23,993 User: 14,031	As Sure rarely gets an outing on tour or i never hear it getting played anywhere i would assume Love Ain't Here Anymore, Why Can't I Wake Up and Could It Be Magic have stretched their sales leads further. That said, Sure is one of their weakest singles overall and certainly their weakest track to reach number 1. Sure reflects that releasing on the right or wrong week can change things. Sure is part if their Number 1 catalogue but i would be certain that both fans and the general public would feel Rule The World was a number 1. With Sure, outside the fan-base i would doubt many would remember the song. Love Aint Here Anymore is another single i don't have much love for and the weakest release from the album.

BuzzJack Regular Joined: 12 May 2012 Posts: 383 User: 16,950	See for myself I love Love Ain't Here Anymore more than some of the chart toppers. It's definitely in my top 5 TT songs. The only thing I like about Sure is it at least it showed another style to Take That who unlike other boybands took risks with changing their music styles and sounds. Just think of all the different genres they went through back then and also now. Most boybands especially in Take That's premiere billing position stuck to a winning sound and formula. Take That didn't they constantly changed even if it meant shedding some fans or picking up others. I think as a rock fan primarily it's one of the reasons I also like Take That and their music. Though you're right it certainly wasn't a natural style for them that time and was very American R'n'B and of it's time. Wake Up in terms of production still sounds fresh (the single version) and though I love Magic it does feel a little dated production wise now though the charm and charisma from Robbie still shines through (again the single version) on the recording.

BuzzJack Idol Joined: 29 June 2006 Posts: 128,408 User: 845	I'm not a fan of sure at all but it did show them in a different style but they were always a cut above all the other bands like westlife and boyzone etc. Have to agree on love ain't here anymore it's a great song and I remember been so disappointed when it only made number 4 after a string of number 1 singles.

As a fifth single it done remarkably well, at that time they were just so popular that it was hit after hit.
