Greetings BuzzJack, I am LexC the great and powerful. Now, I know what you're thinking, aren't Ryan, Umi and Liam usually the ones to run these Forum wide competitions? Well, our trusted trio of #popmodz have gladly bestowed upon me the right to host the 2015 edition of Ultimate Pop Album. I will endeavour to run this competition without any hiccups but expect a fair few lexfails along the way and then none of you will be disappointed.

First things first, I'm the realest we must nominate albums for the longlist. Dictionary.com defines an album as "a collection of recordings issued as a single item" and as far as we are concerned here, all that your nominated albums must do is meet that definition. You are not restricted by date or territory of release or levels of chart success. I would like you to post in this thread anywhere between 10 and 30 albums to go forward into the next round (all nominations will count for one point so don't feel like you have to rank or order them).

The only albums that you are not permitted to nominate are the albums that finished in the top 10 of the last Ultimate Pop Album. This is because they are..wait for it...wait... AUTO-QUALIFIED for Round 2 These are:

Lady Gaga - The Fame Monster
Girls Aloud - Tangled Up
Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway
Marina & The Diamonds - The Family Jewels
Madonna - Confessions On A Dancefloor
Britney Spears - Blackout
Rihanna - Loud
Florence & The Machine - Lungs
Rihanna - Rated R
Amy Winehouse - Back To Black

Finally, we are of course holding this as an Ultimate 'Pop' album but you are free to give as liberal an interpretation of the word 'Pop' as you wish (yes Iz, you may nominate Nightwish albums!)

You have until 23:59 on Monday April 6th (Easter Monday) to post your nominations. The Longlist round should hopefully be published the following day with as close to 100 qualifiers as possible, so approximately 90 albums will be qualifying from this round. Stay tuned in the later rounds for the reveal of Lex's #secretproject innovation using a programme you all know and love...

glhf x

TEMPTING

Might be a little bit too far outside pop though, I'll gauge the level of this thing once I've seen a few other nominations.

It's a good job that the dictionary doesn't state music as a requirement so Lawson nominations are safe smile.gif

Beyoncé definitely isn't pop music although she obviously has a lot of pop hits, although her albums are containing fewer and fewer pop songs on there with there being, what, 2 'pop' songs on Beyoncé? Whereas Mariah has one 'pop' song every couple of albums - the last being "Touch My Body"?
