QUOTE
In Disenchantment, viewers will be whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.
QUOTE(Collider)
From the mind of Matt Groening, comes the adult animated comedy fantasy series, Disenchantment, with 10 episodes launching on Netflix, August 17, 2018. And today, we have our first solid look at the artwork and characters in the series, all bearing Groening’s signature style. In a statement earlier this year, The Simpsons mastermind said Disenchantment was “about life and death, love and sex, and how to keep laughing in a world full of suffering and idiots, despite what the elders and wizards and other jerks tell you.” Consider us sold.

The series will feature the voice talents of Abbi Jacobson (“Bean”), Nat Faxon (“Elfo”) and Eric Andre (“Luci”), along with John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery. Animation is being done by Rough Draft Studios (Futurama).

Excited for this with it being new Matt Groening!

Looks to be a series with a story arc, rather than something like The Simpsons. Being 10 episodes might ensure that it is also tighter with its quality!

I'm really looking forward to this show, and the cast is really good (Noel Fielding!)

Its not quite Futurama but it’s still really really good, with a few more seasons this could easily become one of my favourite animated shows. I like the idea that they’re both in the same universe too even though a crossover is highly unlikely (but still possible based on Futurama). I’ve seen a few people online saying this “failed to recreate the charm of Futurama” but I fully disagree. This manages to have crude humour without being vulgar just like Groening’s other projects and imo succeeds where the majority of animated comedies fail these days

This has been renewed for another series of 20 episodes. It's a bit messy because the series released earlier this year was Part 1 of Season 1, with Part 2 released next year. Then the first part of Season 2 airs 2020, with the second part in 2021. I don't know why they can't just be different seasons!!

Anyway, as for the actual series, I've released I haven't commented! I enjoyed it quite a lot actually, A nice refresh from The Simpsons which I haven't seen in years (sad.gif) and I really liked that it had an overarching plot leading up to a really epic finale which I wasn't expecting! It makes the second half a lot more interesting than the first and I do think the final two episodes were probably my favourite. loved the cliffhanger and the animation for that was excellent! Will be interesting to see how it goes in the next part - I think the world can be so open and can generate lots of ideas!

I don't think it stands out as amazing or ground-breaking, but it doesn't need to be. My favourite character is definitely the King - he had the best moments for me! I wasn't that keen on the demon to start with but I did grow to like him and the Bean, demon, Elfo dynamic does become enjoyable - particularly Elfo I feel!

gosh, there are SO many one-liners! This gets SO good towards the end of Part 1 and the first two episodes of Part 2 are also quite incredible.
