BuzzJack Music Forum _ UK Charts _ YTD T40 Albums (with estimated sales)

Posted by: vidsanta 16th December 2017, 09:37 AM

V2 :

YTD Sales : Please read these guidelines before you request sales estimates, it makes my task a lot easier.

1. Be specific - please name the artist and title for each entry you'd like an estimate for.
2. I log sales for all albums that have charted this year, but only update those that have sold enough to reach my 200 position tracking range
3. If an album isn't in the current Top 100, I won't be able to update its sales until Tues. Also, please don't ask about ex-T100 albums too often - once a month at most)
4. Remember to check the thread before requesting estimates - they may already have been answered. Also, no more than half-a-dozen requests at a time, thanks.
5. Please note my figures are combined sales & streams, and since I have no way of separating them, I cannot provide a split.
6. While I am no longer estimating singles sales, I can provide YTD singles positions from C+, and I am still maintaining my sales archive based on published figures (PM me if you want to see it)

Thank you.

NIce to see thing starts picking up a bit with albums. Hoping this week there will be another big surge in sales. See if Sam can overtake Little Mix by the end of the year. Hopefully Pink can overtake Drake and X to go top 5 by year end too.

RagnBone man might actually reach the magical 1 million sales which would be great! Sam Smith likely to sell 500k. I expected Taylor Swift to sell much better given all the hype!

Wow Maroon 5's album really bombed.

Only a gigantic hit can save it and don't see it coming

I don’t think many people really noticed they even released an album. Where they have just been sporadically releasing singles over the last few years, there hasn’t really been a clear album campaign with this era.

I'm split as to whether Human will break a million. He will prob be no5 over the next two weeks and he a big seller in the final Albums of the Year week. No5 will sell 40-60k over two weeks HOPEFULLY!!

2 million sellers would be great for 2017!

If Paloma sneaks into the top 20 that would be a nice surprise did not expect it to happen

I now think he will do it, seems to be a lot of good Promo (adverts on TV, performance on Spoty etc) which has propelled Album back in Top 5 - should be enough to secure 50k Sales this week and next.

Paloma has indeed exceeded expectations, Album has been very well received.

Paloma Faith outselling The Killers is something I never thought I’d say

Seems an odd thing to say given the last time they released albums in the same year, 5 years ago, Fall To Grace vastly outsold Battle Born.

It doesn't seem to have broken the top 5 this week yet which I thought it would - this Mark should have sales of 40k - do we have 2 or 3 weeks left?

If we're going by Fridays then 2 weeks left, but if we're going by week-ending-Thursdays left then just the 1 (excluding Friday just gone which is week ending this Thursday). I've always hated going by the 'week ending' date, it makes no sense to me.

2 weeks.

It's easy enough to work out : If there are 1-3 days of sales left, they will count towards the following year, 4-6 days, current year.

Apologies if you're not able to help vidsanta, but a recent music week article mentioned "The Killers 2013 compilation 'Direct Hits' has passed half a million copies".

Whilst a very reliable source, my last figures for it are hugely below that - from what you know could their figure be correct or do you suspect a mistake?

thanks smile.gif

Other than sam is there enough weeks left for anything to overtake little mix (hopefully not)

The battle for No4 should be interesting between Pink & Ball/Boe! Both should make 350k sales.

The last figure I have is 462k on 31/8/17. For most of the 16 weeks since, it's been on the budget chart, so it might well have sold 38k since then.

I doubt it, unless Eminem sells in Adele-like quantities. tongue.gif
