f***ing bumper of a SINGLE DAY for SCOTUS
first they strike down affirmative action, then they roll gay rights back two decades, and finally they rule Biden's student loan debt forgiveness plan unconstitutional, hitting the trifecta of things conservatives don't want to see existing, minorities, queer people, and the poors. Shit's real rough in America right now. |

But why do the Dems always play nice? - they should have packed the courts with friendly judges when they had the chance. Now it's a hard right majority in the court for a minority of views. Incredibly undemocratic.

Biden needs to pack the court. They also need to impeach those Trump justices. They are religious extremists.

On the bright side, the Supreme Court did have the opportunity to basically end democracy entirely the other day but they were same enough to not do that. Apart from the 3 of them that weren't sane enough.
(Moore vs. Harper, look it up, I promise I am not exaggerating with the above description) But... yeah, this is rough. Sadly this kind of shit is going to be the legacy of Trump (well, Republicans in general) and it's not going to get any better for a long time. |

Incredibly undemocratic. Really it is post 2016 when things went crazy conservative in Supreme Court...in past there was always some sort of a balance!!! During Trump presidential there were 3 turns in Supreme Court, more than any president since Nixon (not counting Reagan since one of his appointment was to elevate a sitting associate justice to Chief Justice of the United States). |

Disgraceful, apart from being so archaic it hurts, this isn't even a vote winner, it's not exactly increasing the Republican's popularity?! (At least going by how I remember it going for any Republican apart from Trump) if they use this complete non-case (and a fabricated one at that) to back up a rule change, I dread to think what they'll try next...
Land of the free, world's greatest democracy etc. in action right? The Dems really missed a trick not packing the courts when Obama was in power. |

Not if he adds 3 more liberal judges and then a fourth "moderate". Then the court is in perfect balance... exvept for the extremist Trump judges.

The Republicans would undoubtedly pack the courts too but that's a worry for the future, and FWIW think they have no chance to win in 2024. But in the here and now, for such regressive, authoritarian crap being passed by Supreme Court during a Democrat presidency must be stopped any way how.

We have a rogue, extreme right court, that the Republicans are using to legislate from.
