No Angel is such an amazing album but yeah, it wasn’t released in 2001. That was its impact year though and it was quite rightfully the best selling album of the year.

Surprised by the really poor sales of Emma Bunton’s debut, ‘What Took You So Long?’ felt huge at the time. Emma and Victoria’s sales stick out like sore thumbs on that list.

There's some glaring errors and typos in that article - they've reported Michael Jackson's death as happening in 2002 (when in fact it was 2009) and they've reported that Kylie's 'Fever' got 1.73 sales (they meant 1.73 million laugh.gif) - and I also noticed a couple of spelling mistakes. The OCC are normally very professional!

But taking my nerd hat off for a sec there's some great and varied albums in that list - 2001 was easily one of the best years for music wub.gif

I didn't realise Victoria's album had sold quite so poorly, thought she would have at least sold 100k on her name alone!

Crazy to think it has been 20 years. I still play some of these albums: Kylie - Fever, Britney Spears - Britney, Steps Gold! But at the time, I bought the majority of those albums. Also surprised Emma and Victoria didn’t sell better. I can remember Dido’s album being around for what felt like forever. I loved the album to start but then was very much over it and haven’t listened to it probably since 2001.
