Carly Rae Jepsen is currently working on her upcoming 3rd album (or 2nd international album) which will be the follow-up to last year's 'Kiss'. It is unknown when the album is scheduled for release, but Carly has revealed some details about it:
QUOTE "I can kind of explain it in some ways, and in other ways I'd rather not and let myself go in and create it," Jepsen told Billboard. "My favourite pop artists at the moment are Robyn, Kimbra, La Roux and Dragonette." "And I think I have a folky side in my blood from what I used to listen to with my parents, and it'll be fun to incorporate more of that in the verses of the pop songs, a little something deeper to the verses." She added: "That's what I love about the pop stars I just named, is they don't do just your regular kind of pop songs. There's some stuff to hold onto and dig into. That's what I want to do." Digital Spy 'Kiss' was such a fantastic album, can't wait to hear the new album whenever it arrives! |

Wasn't she making folky music before the "Curiosity EP"?

QUOTE 80's album coming. Be ready to be hit with some very 80's inspired pics https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/583737...49/enOjN7jw.jpg Excited by this! Looks to be following the same sort of sound as 'I Really Like You'. LOVE that picture also, that would make a fine album cover. This post has been edited by mr_aly: Apr 3 2015, 10:21 AM |

LOVING 'All That'. It's ridiculously 80's in it's sound, but it works so well. It's also a Dev Hynes track I believe!

I agree with Joseph. Sounds like a B Side to a 90's era Britney single.

This would be among the weakest on Kiss. I expected SO much more from Dev Hynes...

'All That' is most certainly not single material, but it's still wonderful!

This sounds so karaoke-ish
My guess is that it probably won't become a proper single and will remain as an instant grat when the pre-order comes out. |

Loving the cheesy 80s ballad vibes of this, it's quite a sweet and romantic song.
Absolutely not single material in any way, shape or form though. |

What are you guys on? 'All That' is honestly stunning, Dev Hynes has done it again with the gorgeous production. Giving me Mariah meets Jessie Ware vibes throughout.
The strength of this new material is somewhat surprising me. I always found 'Kiss' to be too childish and overly sickly sweet and I kind of wrote her off because of it, but this is showing real artistic growth and maturity. Keep giving me the jams Carly and I may have to get properly on board... |

I like "All That" but don't love it at the moment, although I'm pleased she's released it as I'm hoping this album will be more mature in sound that Kiss (as much as I love it). I feel like it's very Jessie Ware-lite as well as having the obvious 80s comparisons, neither is a bad thing though!
