I don't see a return for Taahino on the cards tbh, I think our BJSC days are over I would be sad if that did happen, for one thing, it would mean we lose half of our total female representation in the contest overnight. I would like to think Ultraviolenceland would make a sustained return soon but I don’t think so for now. Taahino have always been a staple in the BJSC community and did some fine work when they were a forum moderator too. |

Two of Kluminican Republic, Persephonia, Terra Avium, Cumulonimbia and Kathaldazia will win. One of Lookylion, Bhangra, Greenfroze or Quintessa will also win. FARC, Aeroche and Altyr will all get one each, but ONE of these will also suffer two DNQs during the year. must be altyr |

Decided to return to this bc I'm bored
• I don’t see this stronghold that the “old guard” has had on the contest will last much longer, I think the dominating countries next year will be ones that have debuted from 2015 onwards. • welp Rontvia/Hendinia/Kathaldazia seem to be dominating but there's still the second half. Summericia's doing well, St. Burbia recovered nicely, Lotunia's killing it, I'm somehow killing it.... let's do this!• probably two new countries the entire year, neither of which will make a big splash but stick around regardless. • Yobnedorica will have a mildly successful year a la Sovarasma 2022/Tartford 2018 • Jadakissnia gets a win during the next three months, kickstarting a massive comeback year for them • I think République d'Áskorza have gone under the radar for far too long, surely a slew of smashes is in their future? • A J-pop song goes top 10 • Debut wins from Zanmatony and Cumulonimbia • Two BJSC entries, either from 2022 or 2023, will end up charting IRL • Bray fails to keep up with the YTD again and we get another rushed Year-End update thread Idk if I have any forecasts for Cor Lupus, we kinda dodged the “questionable future” part after winning so I’d say we’d just continue being the Maroon 5 of BJSC - a few smashes and moderate success but shoddy reputation amongst the rest of the participants, all while the material is “aggressively mid”. • Well we got a ton just from the first two contests, and Bronzil just got a medal position so I'd say this latest BJSC generation is exceeding expectations • First top 10, a chance to host, DNQing while hosting, and getting top 20 with a novelty song? One nice hit + one massive flop... I'd say it's more iconic at the moment • welp it seems like this is their flop era • IT'S COMING • WHAT WILL IT TAKE • we're still waiting • no, taking songs from Mediabase doesn't count (although Pretty Girl Era is doing pretty well in Canada so) • again... VERY surprised at how I'm performing. I think after 153 a switch just flicked where I was like "screw the listening sessions, screw the constant regretting, imma send my pop bops and y'all will just have to deal" and it's working out pretty well. "Worst Taste In Girls" is definitely reaching the range of my favorite entries of all time, and Bava doing well was a pleasant surprise, so hopefully there are more of those in the future. |

Two of Kluminican Republic, Persephonia, Terra Avium, Cumulonimbia and Kathaldazia will win. One of Lookylion, Bhangra, Greenfroze or Quintessa will also win. Botanikka will have a big comeback year with multiple top 10 hits. East Rukahavian will switch to an unexpected genre at some point and bag a top ten nobody sees coming. Summericia's streak of qualifiers will continue for a while yet. Just call me Nostradamus! Although not certain that was quite the genre swerve I was expecting from Mack - still, the unexpected top ten finish stands. |

That one is already true hence Rich including it in his quote
(well, the 'multiple top 10 hits' part at least, I guess it's up to you what standard counts as a big comeback x) |

I've been predicted to win at least once for as long as I remember in these threads, gold star to Rich for being the one to finally get it right

I'm not taking a break hen. I'm gonna slap this year! Famous last words… And slap he did! I need to go through my predictions to see what I’m getting right so far, but low and behold… one of my predicted returning nations did in fact return in 2023, and that was indeed Ramrynia! |

Looking at mine so far I got Kathaldazia but only them and of course two wins!
For a successful country who have had a more floppy year.. I'd say it would have to be either FARC or Jupiterdonia perhaps? and they have both dnqed this year too. Cor Lupus has had 4 or more top 20's but not a last place finalist or close win neither 2 top 5's... yet! Not sure about the other prophecies I made too much but my streak is still currently in tact *. |

How did everyone do with their 2023 prophecies? Did anyone get any right?
I looked through my lengthy list of each participating nation, and there is not much to get hopeful about, although I did correctly predict a return for Ramrynia, so I consider that an achievement. |
