Do we count George Michael?
Edit: guessing we’re not counting a mixture of group and solo. Otherwise George Harrison would also be 3. This post has been edited by JulianT: 9th April 2023, 02:43 PM |

And tbf he hasn’t had a #1 for over 22 years, so he’s not exactly still a chart concern.

I think the next artist to reach three decades of #1’s will be… Coldplay.

I think Coldplay certainly are a possibility of doing it before this decade is out. Beyonce certainly has a chance as well given her recent success. Rihanna if she ever releases another studio album.

If you're allowed to shift when the decades can start, you could make the case for Elton having 6 Decades of #1's
1. 1971 Dec.-1981 Nov.: Don't Go Breaking My Heart (1976 Jul.-Aug.) 2. 1981 Dec.-1991 Nov.: Sacrifice/Healing Hands (1990 Jun.-Jul.) 3. 1991 Dec.-2001 Nov.: Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me (1991 Dec.), Candle In The Wind/Something About the Way You Look Tonight (1997 Sep.-Oct.) 4. 2001 Dec.-2011 Nov.: Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word (2002 Dec.), Are You Ready for Love (2003 Sept.), Ghetto Gospel (2005 Jul.) 5. 2011 Dec.-2021 Nov.: Cold Heart (2021 Oct.) 6. 2021 Dec.-2031 Nov.: Sausage Rolls for Everyone (2021 Dec.), Merry Christmas (2021 Dec.-2022 Jan.) |

The Bee Gees were the first group to have number ones in the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
