We weren't we were arguing about inappropriate moderation and the belittling of a forum member by someone who should've known better.

But off course as the mods don't want to actually recognise that, it will just go down as someone who spat their dummy out at a subtitle.

It's a tropical song for sure, but has all the sensibilities of a big, pop anthem. It seems to be the fave amongst fans! They sound great on it, it's different for them (it'd give them a huge club anthem) and it has an actual melody to it laugh.gif

2nd single seems likely to be 'Touch' (perfect choice) but I can see maybe 'Oops' with Charlie 3rd and then 'No More Sad Songs' being a big Summer hit next year!

I don't think he's performing this on X Factor! I think he's performing his other single/the one playlisted by Radio 1!

HUGE effect for him though. Really wasn't expecting that. 2016 has been an incredible year for Craig. I wonder if he'll finally get his "Best British Solo Male" at the BRITs next year? ohmy.gif

Posted by: leewallace 18th November 2016, 11:12 PM

If I was Craig, I wouldn't be pushing 'Change My Love' as a single, especially with 'All We Needed' close to #2 on iTunes and an X Factor performance lined up. If he wants to release 'Change My Love' release it after '16'.

Posted by: Danvember 18th November 2016, 11:16 PM

'All We Needed' would work better as an X Factor performance tbh, and it's much higher in the chart at the moment, so it would be ridiculous if he didn't sing that.

Posted by: lewistgreen 18th November 2016, 11:28 PM

Craig tweeted the other day that he's performing Change My Love. We may get a last minute change who knows

Posted by: ML Hammer95 18th November 2016, 11:29 PM

This success is just topping off a huge year for Craig David, never would have expected this this time last year.

Posted by: mr_pmt 18th November 2016, 11:35 PM

I'm not sure this Craig track will be having staying power if it's only intended strictly for CIN/a CIN performance? Though maybe he'll change his mind after this and push for it.

It's still beyond me why he's even going with 'Change My Love' at all when he has '16' and 'Don't Go' though...

11. Olly Murs - Grow Up [In all fairness, Olly has had magnificent promo for this entire campaign, he's managed to perform on almost every possible television show with 'Grow Up' and 'You Don't Know Love']
21. Zara Larsson - I Would Like
22. Charli XCX Feat Lil Yachty - After The Afterparty
28. Zara Larsson - Ain't My Fault
35. Tom Zanetti Feat Sadie Ama - You Want Me
46. Ellie Goulding - Still Falling For You
60. Britney Spears Feat Tinashe - Slumber Party
64. Rihanna - Love On The Brain

When the Bassline Drops was certainly bigger than Nothing Like This I think! Plus I'd say the latter counts as a Craig single too, they were joint lead artists on the track and it's on his album so I expect it was intended as a single from his album as well as a Blonde single? thinking.gif

It's really confusing that he's pushing two tracks at once though drama.gif

It hasn't been THAT huge, only 'When The Bassline Drops' was a hit really and his album hasn't had that much staying power either.

"When The Bassline Drops" and "Nothing Like This" became his first certified singles in 15/16 years and his album his first #1 since his debut, over 16 years ago. I understand the album itself hasn't really had legs but I would definitely say this has been a huge year for him, especially compared to the previous 10 or so years of his career. He's also had a couple other top 40 hits and a couple top 100 appearances.

Surprised at how high his CIN single has gone. If I were him, I would definitely perform it on X-factor. Could possibly see it get to #1 on iTunes combined if he did.

ao Craig David is really gonna do the other song tomorrow on XF? Makes no sense when this is #2 combined on itunes.., maybe he thinks its still 1999 when both songs in a double A side single counted together for the charts biggrin.gif

guess its an strategy to move albums

and still 16 would probably have been the better option as its 50-ish on Spotify already

Go Craig David - fingers crossed he/the label see sense and push "All We Needed" on X-Factor tomorrow instead, I'm sure they will.

The Zanetti track sounds quite creepy sounding at the start with the weird synths :o

Bassline electro house and grime mix with some female vocals in it too, a bit like Wearing My Rolex by Wiley from 2008. I think I prefer WMR to it.

The intro to 'Black Beatles' has reminded me so much of another song that I couldn't quite recall the name of, but I think it could be the intro to video for Nelly's 'Dilemma'. They don't sound identical like I first thought but I think that must be what I was thinking of.

Everything since has been pretty generic and bland (or annoying in the case of Moves Like Jagger puke.gif) 'Misery' was a decent song, but felt like a poor man's attempt at recreating something off the 'It Won't Be Soon Before Long' album. I really wouldn't mind another 'Wake Up Call' some point soon, but I doubt it if this generic blandness is what the public desperately want from them sad.gif (oh, and I too don't mind tropical house!)

This prospect excites me so much ─ maybe even a #1?!

I liked Daylight and Animals to a certain extent ─ and Maps was very good, but I do pine for the days of She Will Be Loved <3

8. Louisa Johnson - So Good

Hopefully this can reach a new peak in the Official chart soon!!

Posted by: Davidson 22nd November 2016, 08:38 PM

Louisa is holding up amazingly.

It would be a shame for her debut single to stay branded as being a flop for not entering the top 10 when it has been a surprisingly high seller so far. Good on her.

Posted by: jase. 22nd November 2016, 08:55 PM

'So Good' needs to be reduced to 59p!

arrow up.gif 23. I Would Like - Zara Larsson
arrow up.gif 39. Should've Been Me (feat. Kyla & Popcaan) - Naughty Boy
arrow up.gif 52. Sweet Lies (feat. Karen Harding) - Wilkinson

arrow down.gif 32. Change My Love - Craig David

Yeah I think a price reduction could give Louisa that last leg-up she needs to go top 10 officially, I hope it happens! Syco are a bit rubbish with price reductions though, I've only seen them do it for 1D's One Thing in its impact week, and Flex/That's My Girl recently.

Naughty Boy the latest dance producer to go tropical sad.gif

Can we at least have a different form of tropical sounding house to the current pencils being hit together sounding type. Latin house would be good...I was a fan of Boom Boom in 2013. Or Hawaiian style house would be amazing (the distinctive Hawaiian guitar music already has lots of drops anyway).

Massive Wiley - Wearing My Rolex vibes with this to me...will it do as well though as it. ohmy.gif I thought it was more likely to stall like Trouble but if it is starting to take off on streaming it might do well.

It would be the first deep house hit again for quite a few months.

I wouldn't call the new Naughty Boy song tropical house to be honest, it sounds more light-reggae to me (especially considering the featured artists).

Posted by: Danvember 22nd November 2016, 10:37 PM

Naughty Boy's never really been a dance producer either, he's more pop/urban than anything.

Well his new one has the same instrumentation as tropical house, but I suppose it is reggae based.

Tropical.house dominance is even putting me off reggae now, which I used to like. sad.gif

I also used to like zylophones, steel drums, pan pipes and trumpets but now I don't as they have been.so overused sad.gif

Naughty Boy is usually light drum and bass/breakbeat. Of his hits, Lifted is a dance track I would say though.

COME ON TOM ZANETTI cheer.gif

Posted by: ML Hammer95 23rd November 2016, 02:33 PM

A Black Beatles/You Want Me Top 2 would be excellent!

What's with the boost for Tom Zanetti though? Wonder if he's just getting more exposed and the track is blowing up. Maybe it'll be a huge hit before the New Year like I suspected. This year's The Girl is Mine?

Posted by: Bré 23rd November 2016, 02:57 PM

27. Love$ick (feat. A$AP Rocky) - Mura Masa

Wow at how high this has got, the Sound of hype finally translating into some success for Mura Masa! Would love to see it going top 40 officially.

It's getting more airplay now, which explains the climb! Although quite why anyone would buy it at all is beyond me kink.gif

26. The Vamps & Matoma - All Night

Holding up pretty well since R1 dropped it! I hope it stays 59p for a bit longer because that mixed with its new-found streaming success will keep it in the top 40 for a fair bit longer cheer.gif

Posted by: twentyonemdh 23rd November 2016, 04:44 PM

25. Rag'n'Bone Man - Human

I know this has been around for ages, but do you reckon it could be a hit? If Radio 1 playlist it (have they done so already?) it could be a big top 20.

Posted by: Danvember 23rd November 2016, 04:52 PM

I think 'Human' is a big sleeper hit in the waiting, although it has barely any streaming at the moment. it reminds me of 'Take Me To Church' so could potentially be a top 5 eventually. hope I'm wrong though, not a fan of it.

Tom Zanetti would make a great new year top 10 smash dance.gif

I can't see Tom Zanetti being anything less than a sizeable top 5 (at least) now.

67. Adele - Water Under the Bridge
73. Noah Cyrus - Make Me (Cry) [feat. Labrinth]
93. The Pogues - Fairytale of New York (feat. Kirsty MacColl)
101. Wham! - Last Christmas (Single Version)
107. Shakin' Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone
108. Roy Wood & Wizzard - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday

Posted by: 🎄cqmerqn🎄 23rd November 2016, 09:17 PM

I think Mariah could enter the top 40 next week (officially)

Posted by: Steve201 23rd November 2016, 09:19 PM

She's top 50 on iTunes now and top 75 on Spotify - plus next Thursday there will be a huge boost with it being 1st December before the mid month Lul. Her and the Pogues usually enter that week which is week ending 8th December officially chart wise.

It's exactly the same as last years one but they're releasing another one this Friday exclusive to vinyl

That Tom Zanetti track undeniably has a good bassline and beat, but it really needs more instrumentation layers to it. I don't really get the minimal electro house thing in the 2010s (Jack, Rhymes, Take Me Away, Hideaway, Say Something, Rinse and Repeat and Chunky are in this house subgenre too. I suppose it all started back in late 2006 with Put Your Hands Up For Detroit. To me minimal is all rather dull and cries out for more production.

Well I just prefer maximal house with lots of production layers. The nice bassline, vocal and beat is still there its just there is lots of other stuff too to keep things interesting.
