'Burn' is a killer, it still baffles me why that wasn't singled over certain weak(er) tracks.

Because Radio 2 (the only station who would play her) said that they liked that one and would play it if released… and it became her biggest radio hit since On the horizon so they kept true to their word.

But I utterly LOVE weak I prefer it to Burn (which I also love) however I think Burn sounded much more commercial I am surprised Radio 2 didn’t want that one tbh.

I never got the love for The Sea either. It has interesting songs but the production value is a bit bad, the lyric content sometimes are too cringe and she does sound too pichy for my liking...

My ranking would be:

1. Northern Star
2. Melanie C
3. Beautiful Intentions (bad production, great songs!)

4. Version of Me (too many bad songs though the production value is ok actually!)
5. the rest

WELL you are both WRONG because it is clearly:

1. Northern Star
2. Melanie C
3. The Sea
4. Beautiful Intentions
5. Reason
6. Version of me
7. This Time

8. The other one

Sorry but it goes like this:

1. Northern Star
2. Melanie C
3. The Sea
4. Version of Me

5. Beautiful Intentions
6. Reason

7. This Time

8. Stages

This Time and Version of Me have a good song or two, but honestly aside from the general consensus top 3 I find her albums practically unlistenable. ph34r.gif

This is how I feel too. Outside of 3 albums the rest I'd take a max of 3 songs off each and run. Stages doesn't exist to me, only Spice Girls related album I don't own.

This Time is Geri’s Passion (Melanie C version).
Bland, unnecessary, and with a song in it (Desire / I Want Candy) that has nothing to do with the rest of the album.

To me, her worst record with that Stages thing (that Emma feat though, Jesus, Mary, St Joseph rotf.gif)

Reason, at least, is amazing / interesting at times: Home / Love To You / I Love You Without Trying / Wonderland/ Living Without You - 90% of this being b-sides

Tbf most of the solo albums are full of filler, not just Mel C's.

I've never played The Sea from start to finish.

Is this something I should do?

In all honesty, the 7th Heaven Remix of Think About It is the only song I've felt I needed in my collection from that era.

Enemy, Drown, Weak, Burn and the b-side Cruel Intentions are highlights

Today marks 12 years since Melanie's magnum opus was released. wub.gif

Think About It, one of Melanie's best lead singles, celebrates its 12th anniversary, too. music.gif
