I honestly think we only need 4 players and then we'll be set for the season. That would be Salah who looks close to joining, a central defender (Still think Van Dijk is a possibility), a central/attacking midfielder and a left-back. So around a £150m spend I would say and then we're likely to bring in money from Sakho, Markovic etc. too.

This is obviously assuming that Sturridge stays, but I wouldn't say there needs to be wholesale changes. Just a bit more depth would be great and an upgrade on Lovren at CB.

Salah, Robertson (LB) and Oxlade-Chamberlain (CM) done. No Van Dijk. Not the massive failure that some Liverpool fans on social media would have you believe.

I think a lot of that stems from the fact that we bid for Lemar quite late on, but he would have always been a bit of a luxury.

Van Dijk was quite clearly a priority, but how I see it is that Klopp wants him and him only and is prepared to wait until January or the summer to get him rather than buy a temporary option.

I guess it'll be a case of attack being the best form of defence for us, but I still don't think our defence is as bad as people make out. We've kept 7 clean sheets in the last 9 premier league games. Just need to cut out the individual errors
