There's a video on Facebook, but I don't know how to embed from there, so I'll write out the list!

01. 'Baby One More Time' | #01
02. 'Womanizer' | #01
03. 'Scream & Shout' | #03
04. '3' | #01
05. 'Till The World Ends' | #03
06. 'Circus' | #03
07. 'I Wanna Go' | #07
08. 'Hold It Against Me' | #01
09. 'Toxic' | #09
10. 'Oops I Did It Again' | #09

Unfortunately they never give any sales info or anything, which is a shame! sad.gif

But are there any surprises?

'3' really sticks out in that list, despite being a #1, for me. 'Everytime' got such a poor peak, didn't it?

Amazing that she seems to have songs from different eras in there. Usually with artists like Britney they tend to be 1st era heavy with a couple of other eras thrown in at the bottom end of the countdown!

"Toxic" and "Oops!" not going top 5 seems a bit CRIMINAL compared to their cultural impact today.

(Though in the case of the latter the Billboard climate was a bit weird in the 1999-2000 period)

The Billboard chart confuses me so much, especially in regards to Britney where a lot of her big hits have peaks that don't represent their status at all. Then you get the likes of '3' as a #1.

Someone did explain to me on here maybe last year as to why certain peaks were so low and it just adds to my confusion of Billboard.

Slave's peak is baffling. It's crazy how I'd say it's her 4th most iconic song but underperformed everywhere.

Yeah and Britney not releasing them to buy as singles had a major effect as well. Impressive she still went top ten considering 'Baby' was the only song released for single sales until 'Do Somethin' in January of 2005.

I wonder just how many #1s she'd have if she had actually released physicals for people to buy of her early singles. Her peaks improved so much after downloads came in. 'Gimme More' was her first time top 5 in the 21st century, wasn't it?

In terms of her peaks, matters weren't helped due to her being blacklisted by ClearChannel midway through I'm A Slave 4 U (its progress was stunted which resulted in the #27 peak) right through to Me Against the Music. This being because they were pissed at not being chosen to sponsor her tour.

As explained by others, the lack of physical singles was also a hindrance!

It seems to me like her label was far more focused on how her albums did? It doesn't seem like her single peaks had much of a negative impact on her first four albums, or her star status.

It all does look a bit bizarre though when you see '3' with a #1 peak. :')

I'm 3's defense, it was a pretty massive and enduring hit here in the States.

Oops wasn't released for sale so it charted on airplay alone. The same for a lot of her early 00s hits. A lot of early 00s pop and rock songs suffered the same fate, so the chart ended up being dominated by airplay, and R&B/HipHop ruled the airwaves so it ended up ruling the Hot 100 too.
