This could be quite an open group I think! Barring any massive surprise Italy should take it but the second spot is anyone's game and because of that whoever is third could well pick up enough points to make it through as well.

Suspect Italy will get 3/3 wins and I think this will be a group where 3 teams go through. Hard to resd too much in to everyone else bar Italy as the travelling for the other 3 teams is mental.

Italy are currently on a 8 match winning streak and they haven't conceded a goal in any of those matches so I would expect them to easily win this group. Switzerland will get 2nd and Wales will be 3rd I think.

Switzerland will get 2nd and Wales will be 3rd I think. Turkey have the potential to do really well in the touranment, they've got a bit of a golden generation that's gone under the radar slightly. |

Turkey always punch above their weight in these tournaments (2008 anyone?) but I'm hopeful Wales can also exceed expectations much like 2016.
Would expect a romp for Italy but they've been guilty of hugely underperforming in major tournos before. This post has been edited by Dobbo.: 7th June 2021, 08:42 AM |

I think Wales has a lot of turmoil and Switzerland is overrated, Italy and Turkey take this. Switzerland just doesn't show the same form in tournaments as they do in qualifying campaigns. Wales isn't the same squad from previous major tournaments and they're dealing with manager issues and a Bale who might not be 100% there. Turkey might even win the group. Italy has quietly righted the ship that crashed when they missed the 2018 World Cup, they're building another golden generation and are in a long 26 match unbeaten streak for the national team. Turkey has their best generation of talent since 2002. They're still inconsistent but they attack, play for each other, and are fun to watch.

I think the same too, the first match of Euros tournos have historically been cagey affairs.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised by a draw. Would love to see Turkey pull off an upset though!

For tonight's match, I predict 1-0 to Italy.
Italy and Switzerland probably will take the top two places in this group I think, traditionally both teams have had good defence although I don't know about now. |

I'm expecting Italy and Turkey to go through to the next round, Italy seem to be one of the favourites to win the comp this year.

15 minutes in and that car bringing the ball onto the pitch is still the most interesting thing that has happened so far

Great pressing from Italy. Turkey can hardly exchange one pass before being hauled off the ball
