Kodaline (/ˈkoʊdəlaɪn/) is an Irish band. Originally known as 21 Demands, in 2012 the band changed its name to Kodaline.

Steve Garrigan and Mark Prendergast grew up in Swords, Dublin, and have known each other since childhood. Afternoon all

Retro chart thoughts:

• 5 years since my favourite Katy Perry song 'Wide Awake' first entered the top 10! The era got off to an underwhelming start as 'Part of Me' is her weakest single ever for me, but then my interest was quickly reignited as I took to 'Wide Awake' pretty much straight away. Such an impactful soaring chorus. That juxtaposition in those back-to-back releases being my least favourite and favourite of hers Also, from the 2012 retro I really liked 'This Is Love' at the time but it's aged quite badly.
  
• 10 years since 'Foundations' debuted at number 2 *.* such a quotable song, I remember lots of my friends on MSN having lyrics from that song as their status thing on there at the time haha. I was quite fond of 'Pumpkin Soup' by her too. 'Heavyweight Champion Of The World' making the top 10 as well! I still hear that quite often as it's one of my dad's favourite songs.
  
• King of #2s Sash! debuting at that ever familiar position 20 years ago He rarely put a foot wrong, I can't think of a Sash! single I actively dislike. 'I'll Be Missing You' at the top! <3 one of the rare urban songs that Heart FM actually touch that song was #1 on the day I was born (August 4th), it had two stints of being at the top if I'm remembering correctly?

I'll be in and out this week as I have work stuff to do at the same time, the joy!

Retro thoughts-wise, I still think of I'll Be Missing You when I hear that riff, not the Police song. And I prefer it too!

'02 wise, thank god we no longer have those weeks upon weeks of dull Elvis songs.

'07 wise, the start of Rihanna as we know her!

'12 wise, ohgod back when will.i.am was still a thing...cringe

'16 wise, I still don't like One Dance. What a fluke of a hit. At least stuff like Blurred Lines actually seemed omnipresent while it was at the top.

Kendrick Lamar Duckworth (born June 17, 1987) is an American rapper and songwriter. Born and raised in Compton, California, he embarked on his musical career as a teenager under the stage name K-Dot, releasing a mixtape that garnered local attention and led to his signing with indie record label Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). Adam Richard Wiles (born 17 January 1984), known professionally as Calvin Harris, is a Scottish record producer, DJ, singer and songwriter. His debut studio album I Created Disco was released in June 2007, and was the precursor to his UK top 10 singles "Acceptable in the 80s" and "The Girls". In 2009, Harris released his second studio album Ready for the Weekend, which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and was later certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry within two months of its release. 'Solo Dance' is one of those top 10 hits this year that has just completely failed to click with me at all it's had enough time now and it's still pretty annoying. I didn't realise it was this low down in the chart now though, so hooray for that x

Biography

A South London-based commercial dance production team, Disciples consists of Nathan Duvall, Gavin Koolmon, and Luke McDermott. Duvall and Koolmon previously recorded under the aliases Stylistix ("How Soon") and Kool & Duvall ("U Lift Me Up"). The trio debuted in 2013 on the New State Music label with Remedy EP, the title track of which was played by BBC DJs Target and Trevor Nelson. Their profile increased after they signed to Pete Tong's Parlophone-supported FFRR label, where they issued 2014-2015 singles such as "Catwalk" and "They Don't Know," the latter of which went to number 24 on the U.K. pop chart. This Major Lazer song is doing nothing for me I rediscovered 'Too Original' by them again last night and was reminded how much of a BANGER that was, more of that/'Lean On'/'Cold Water' please that isn't this forgettable.

Aubrey Drake Graham (born October 24, 1986) better known by the stage name Drake, is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor. Drake initially gained recognition as an actor on the teen drama television series Degrassi: The Next Generation in the early 2000s. Intent on pursuing a career as a rapper, he departed the series in 2007 following the release of his debut mixtape, Room for Improvement. He released two further independent projects, Comeback Season and So Far Gone, before signing to Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment in June 2009.

Drake released his debut studio album Thank Me Later in 2010, which debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 and was soon certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His next two releases were 2011's Take Care and 2013's Nothing Was the Same, with certifications of quadruple and triple platinum respectively in the U.S.; the former also earned him his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. They were followed by two mixtapes - the trap-influenced If You're Reading This It's Too Late, and a collaboration with Future for What a Time to Be Alive, in 2015, with both earning platinum certification in the U.S.

Drake released his fourth album, Views, in 2016, breaking several chart records in the process. The dancehall-influenced album sat atop the Billboard 200 for ten nonconsecutive weeks, becoming the first album by a solo male to do so in over 10 years. Its single "One Dance" topped the chart in several countries, including the U.S., the UK and Canada, where it became his first number-one single as the lead artist. This saw Drake leading the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 simultaneously for eight weeks, coming close to a record held by Whitney Houston. It achieved quadruple platinum status in the U.S., and earned over 1 million album-equivalent units in the first week of its release. The single "Hotline Bling" secured him his second and third Grammy win, for Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Rap Song, at the organization's 59th ceremony.

Drake released the multi-genre More Life in 2017. Described by Drake as a playlist, it was his seventh consecutive number one on the Billboard 200, and set multiple streaming records.

Drake owns several Billboard chart records. He has the most charted songs (154) among solo artists in the history of the Billboard Hot 100, the most simultaneously charted Hot 100 songs in a single week (24), and the most Hot 100 debuts in a week (21). Drake also has the most number one singles on the Hot Rap Songs, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and Rhythmic Charts. Alongside his Grammy Award wins, Drake has won three Juno Awards and six American Music Awards.

Drake has developed other ventures, including his OVO Sound record label with longtime collaborator Noah "40" Shebib. Drake acts as a producer, producing under the pseudonym of Champagne Papi. Using the "OVO" moniker, Drake has his own clothing line and his own program on Beats 1 Radio. Adam Richard Wiles (born 17 January 1984), known professionally as Calvin Harris, is a Scottish record producer, DJ, singer and songwriter. His debut studio album I Created Disco was released in June 2007, and was the precursor to his UK top 10 singles "Acceptable in the 80s" and "The Girls". In 2009, Harris released his second studio album Ready for the Weekend, which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and was later certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry within two months of its release. Its lead single "I'm Not Alone" became his first number-one single on the UK Singles Chart.

Harris rose to international prominence with the release of his third studio album 18 Months in October 2012. Topping the UK charts, the album became his first to chart on the US Billboard 200 chart (where it reached number 19). After signing with Asylum Records, his debut album, + (read as "plus"), was released on 9 September 2011 and has since been certified seven-times platinum in the UK. The album contains the single "The A Team", which earned him the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act.

Sheeran's popularity abroad began in 2012. In the US, he made a guest appearance on Taylor Swift's fourth studio album, Red. "The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where he performed the song with Elton John. He spent much of 2013 opening for Swift's The Red Tour in North America dates. Little Mix are a British girl group formed in 2011 during the eighth series of the UK version of The X Factor. They are the first and, so far, only group to win the competition. Following their victory, they signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Music and released a cover of Damien Rice's "Cannonball" as their winner's single. The members are Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson.

He co-founded Gum Productions with Lisa Dodgson and released his first album, Just a Little More Love, in 2002. Later, he released Guetta Blaster (2004) and Pop Life (2007).
