Biography

Luis Fonsi
Luis Alfonso Rodríguez López-Cepero, more commonly known by his stage name Luis Fonsi, (born April 15, 1978) is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter and actor. - Wikipedia

Daddy Yankee
Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez (born February 3, 1977), known by his stage name Daddy Yankee, is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, rapper, actor and record producer. Ayala was born in Río Piedras, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and was raised in the neighborhood of Villa Kennedy Housing Projects. He is known as the "King of Reggaetón" by music critics and fans alike.

Ayala aspired to be a professional baseball player, and tried out for the Seattle Mariners of the Major League Baseball. Before he could be officially signed, he was hit by a stray round from an AK-47 rifle while taking a break from a studio recording session with reggaeton mix tape icon DJ Playero. Ayala spent roughly one and a half years recovering from the wound; the bullet was never removed from his hip, and he credits the shooting incident with allowing him to focus entirely on a music career. In 2004, Daddy Yankee released his internationally acclaimed single "Gasolina", which is credited with introducing Reggaeton to audiences worldwide, and making the music genre a global phenomenon. Since then, he has sold over 18 million albums. Daddy Yankee's album Barrio Fino made history when it became the top selling Latin music album of the decade between 2000-2009.

Wild Thoughts is pretty good, Rihanna sounds great, less keen on Bryson Tiller's part though. Still, would make a good #1 if it manages it soon!

Biography

Bruno Mars
Peter Gene Hernandez (born October 8, 1985), known professionally as Bruno Mars (/ˈmɑːrz/), is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and choreographer. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, by a family of musicians, Mars began making music at a young age and performed in various musical venues in his hometown throughout his childhood. He graduated from high school and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a musical career. After being dropped by Motown Records, Mars signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records in 2009.

In 2009, he co-founded the production team The Smeezingtons, responsible for the singles "Nothin' on You" by B.o.B and "Billionaire" by Travie McCoy. He featured on the hooks for both singles, becoming recognized as a solo artist. His debut studio album Doo-Wops & Hooligans (2010) included the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping singles "Just the Way You Are" and "Grenade", as well as the number-four single "The Lazy Song". His second album, Unorthodox Jukebox (2012), peaked at number one in the United States. The album spawned the international singles "Locked Out of Heaven", "When I Was Your Man" and "Treasure". In 2014, Mars lent his vocals to Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk". In 2016, he released his third studio album 24K Magic with the lead single of the same title released on October 7, 2016. To date, he has sold over 100 million singles and albums worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. Mars has landed six number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 since his career launched in 2010, attaining his first five faster than any male artist since Elvis Presley.

Mars has received many awards and nominations, including four Grammy Awards, and was named one of Time's 100 most influential people in the world in 2011. In December 2013, he ranked number one on the Forbes 30 under 30 list. Mars is known for his stage performances and retro showmanship. He is accompanied by his band, The Hooligans, who play a variety of instruments such as electric guitar, bass, piano, keyboards, drums and horns, and also serve as backup singers and dancers. Mars performs in a wide range of musical styles.

Guetta achieved mainstream success with his 2009 album One Love which included the hit singles "When Love Takes Over", "Gettin' Over You", "Sexy Bitch", and "Memories", the first three of which reached number one in the United Kingdom. The 2011 follow-up album, Nothing but the Beat, continued this success, containing the hit singles "Where Them Girls At", "Little Bad Girl", "Without You", "Titanium", and "Turn Me On". He is among the first DJs to get into the EDM scene and is known as the "Grandfather of EDM".

Guetta has sold over nine million albums and 30 million singles worldwide. In 2011 Guetta was voted as the number one DJ in the 'DJ Mag Top 100 DJs' fan poll.

Still don't get Mama. Subject matter is just so weird for an act in that genre to release as their big summer anthem.

That's what is putting me off loving it tbh, odd subject matter, coupled with that the subject matter pretty much mirrors "Hey Mamma!" by Sunstroke Project which was released not too long before, and did well in Eurovision (3rd place), and is actually the better song laugh.gif

Unforgettable wub.gif I wish this was #1 next week, it has grown on me like a rash.

It has continued to grow and grow on me since first listen, can't stop listening the past 2-3 weeks.

Same - really good track - the best Rihanna has been involved with since possibly "Diamonds" or "Princess Of China".

Shame "Despacito" had to have a broken run at number 1, while I'm happy for the proceeds raised for charity I'm not a fan of these tracks infiltrating the chart. The cause is popular obviously, but not the song (not to the extent it is popular enough to be THE most popular song of the week). A non-number 1.

Well that Liv'N'G song (I genuinely misread that as LVG first time round & thought why is the ex-Manchester United manager releasing a song??) is about a thousand times better than the Grenfell single, actually a really great cover.

Know No Better has grown massively for me, sounds like something that would have been popular about 3-4 years ago, Travis Scott's verses are the best in it.

Fantastic to see Sigala & Ella break into the top 20, highly doubt it'll touch the top 10 but it could be one of those ever increasing supply of singles to spend an eternity in the 11-20 region (Pretty Girl another one) which I will gladly take!

Would have actually rathered Shape Of You returning to the top 10 over Rita's song. Good to see Despacito back at the top anyway, I quite like the new Khaled track but it's still far inferior to the current #1.
