Shawn Mendes could be looking to dethrone Justin Bieber this week, with 'Stitches' picking up steam on iTunes and Spotify, but it could be a close call and Justin Bieber could easily make it a seventh week with 'Love Yourself'. Expect Snakehips, Tinashe and Chance the Rapper to enter the top 10 with their hit 'All My Friends', as well as a climb from Little Mix featuring Jason Derulo with 'Secret Love Song' and maybe Kygo featuring Maty Noyes with 'Stay'. New entries could come from Zara Larsson with 'Lush Life', The 1975 with 'The Sound', X Ambassadors with 'Renegades', Jason Derulo with 'Get Ugly', Elle King with 'Ex's & Oh's', and, boosted by James Corden's carpool karaoke, we could see Adele's 'All I Ask' enter the top 40. On the album chart, expect a second week for David Bowie's 'Blackstar'. Adele could climb a place and be runner-up after the carpool karaoke boost for album '25'. New albums come from Panic! At The Disco with 'Death of a Bachelor', Daughter with 'Not To Disappear' and Mystery Jets with 'Curve of the Earth'. We'll see how any of these fare during the midweek updates. Breakdown of the week - Saturday and Sunday: Information on Twitter from MintRoyale only. Please do not make requests, we do not have any information other than what's posted. - Monday: OCC Top 100 + Radio 1 Chart Update 5:30pm to 5:45pm. - Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one. - Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed. - Thursday: See Tuesday. Other notes (please read) - **NEW** You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod). - Please do not demand a midweek update, one will be posted as and when we receive the information. Patience is a virtue. - Sales information will be given out as deemed necessary by a moderator, please bear this in mind when making requests. Most requests for sales will be ignored. - To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action, please refer to the iTunes and Spotify threads. |

I hope 99 Souls continues to climb this week while Snakehips and Craig David both officially get a top 10 peak. The top 10 needs an urgent clear out. I mean, I quite like 'Sorry' but the Bieber domination is just tedious now.

Looks like Zara Larsson will miss out as she's starting to fall on Spotify That's the weekend effect (Friday/Saturday) - likely to rebound come the start of the working week. Saying that, for all this talk of her streams being decent - she was only #43 on the streaming chart this week. Bowie to hold on in the albums - he is apparently 50 copies in front of Panic! At The Disco today. Shawn Mendes reasonably likely to climb to #1 - his streaming will surely catch-up with Justin Bieber and he is #1 on paid-for sales now which will only increase this week with increasing airplay/exposure. |

Ouch Bowie only a few copies ahead of Panic! Looking like a biggish drop for Bowie then as Panic don't normally do more than 20k!

Panic will be very frontloaded; I expect that Bowie will pull ahead very nicely by Friday.

These songs should climb into the T10 this week:
Snakehips, Tinashe & Chance The Rapper “All My Friends” Major Lazer feat. Nyla & Fuse ODG “Light It Up” Adele will have a T40 entry - probably around the 29 mark. X Ambassadors may also scrape in (depending on how their streaming plays out). Other than that though - pretty dull for the time being. |

Craig David didn't really take off in iTunes last week, of course it was hindered by Bowie overload for a bit - but I can see a #12-13 for him this week, unless streaming majorly picks up.

I could see Adele being lower than the top 30 actually, it's falling quickly now that the carpool karaoke boost has ended. Considering When We Were Young held up better on iTunes and that only managed low top 30, I feel like this could be even lower.
Would LOVE to see Major Lazer in the top 10 with Light It Up! I expect it will become the second official top 10 to never make it on sales if it happens (the first was Sam Smith's Like I Can). |

Not keen on stitches but would be good to have a new number one single.

Hoping for Jack Savoretti to get a new peak with Written In Scars, his promo on Graham Norton has done wonders for it.
Catapult for #1 too pls. |

it looks like there's gonna be a really close battle for #1 in the singles chart this week. I can't call it.
Anyway, I've used digital sales data and yesterday's spotify figures to predict for the last day an 'iTunes/Spotify combined chart' and Justin Bieber is ahead of Shawn Mendes by just 311 predicted chart sales. I've got the rest of the top 100 too if people are interested but I won't post it here incase people confuse it for the official update. |
