His very very first single was in Italian, it's mega cute and I go back to it quite a bit tbh!

Been a while since I posted here but here's some updates from the past ~2 months.

Oscar Enestad
Vi Var Som Inga Andra

Former FO&O member Oscar Enestad took part in this year's Melodifestivalen with one of my songs of the year, I Love It. However, despite having the best Eurovision-related song of the whole year, Oscar crashed out last in his heat. Never have I seen such a musical injustice. Anyway, he's returned with his follow-up single. Vi Var Som Inga Andra is his first Swedish language track, and is more acoustic than his previous singles but what remains is his soft tone. This track is a light, breezy summer track and though I don't like it as much as previous tracks Sign of My Love or I Love It, it's still a solid track that keeps Oscar ahead of his bandmates in terms of solo material.

FELIX SANDMAN
MIDDLE OF NOWHERE

That said, Oscar's bandmate Felix has delivered possibly his best song since his own Melfest entry from 2018 (EVERY SINGLE DAY). MIDDLE OF NOWHERE has a similarly breezy feel to it, with a very catchy chorus packed with melody and hooks. Felix's material so far has been pretty strong, though this track has been more of a grower (seeing a chart run of 19-35-8-7 in my chart so far!).

Bishara
Love Don't Let Me Down

Keeping the theme of Melfest, 2019's runner-up Bishara released his follow-up single to On My Own this week. It's a more modern track, a reflective ballad in its original version. He sounds great on it, especially in the "love don't let me down" hook. There's also a remix of the song which allows it to shine in a different way, giving it a bigger and grander feel, and it's a rare case of me really liking both versions!

Reed Deming
I Don't Know

I discovered Reed back in 2014 with a song called Crash Test Dummy (Broken), which is comfortably one of my all-time favourite songs. Its lyrics mean a lot to me, wondering about fitting in and whether people would still love you if you're "broken." Since then, Reed's been mostly quite hit and miss with me, especially in the past year now he's broken away from his pure pop sound. This is his best in a while though - a heartfelt track about his girlfriend, apologising for taking things out on her and asking for forgiveness. It's an absolute beauty of a track and one of his most natural to date.

jens
Lottery

I actually only discovered this last night but I've already given it loads of plays! Norwegian singer jens has released a selection of singles so far and this is the newest. It's a pure pop track with a catchy, feel-good chorus about falling in love with someone. What's not to love?

Isac Elliot
Waiting Game

A lot of the same names are popping up in this thread as releases are becoming quite frequent from the likes of Alexander Stewart and AJ Mitchell (read on kink.gif), but someone who hasn't popped up yet is Finnish pop sensation Isac Elliot. Isac's one of my favourite artists and has been releasing high quality pop music since 2013. Particular highlights include New Way Home (his debut single), Tired of Missing You, Just Can't Let Her Go (originally demoed by One Direction!), Lipstick, Worth Something and Mouth to Mouth (my personal favourite), and now he's released his first single as a lead in over a year and a half, following collaborative singles Rich & Famous (with SJUR), Throw Popcorn (with Samuel Daayata) and Soldi (with Mahmood, an official remix). Waiting Game slots in perfectly with Isac's best tracks, with yet another quality dance pop anthem that proves why he should be one of the biggest names in male pop music (a field that feels surprisingly small as far as the charts go).

Alexander Stewart
No Thanks

A more familiar face to regular visitors of this thread, Canadian social media star Alexander Stewart has released his fourth single of the year, and sixth in total. No Thanks sees a new design style on his artwork and the debut of his highlighted hair (which slays), but it also sees a slightly dancier sound. The production is future bass-influenced and leads to a very catchy chorus, where Alexander sings about not wanting to be in the friend zone.

Lewis Blissett
Sick Thoughts

I've been enjoying this for weeks now, and it's just continuing to get better and better. Lewis Blissett is new to the world of pop, and he's just 15 years old. Lewis competed on The Voice Kids UK series 1 in 2017, making it as far as the semi finals on Pixie Lott's team. Now he's released his debut single which is surprisingly mature. In fact, it's quite a dark pop track, particularly for someone who's only 15! It's very infectious though, and the production is absolutely excellent.

AJ Mitchell featuring Ava Max
Slow Dance

Another AJ single came out recently, his fourth as a lead this year (!) alongside two further collaborations laugh.gif This one is one of his best yet though, and features American popstar Ava Max. It's definitely his most notable collaboration yet, and the result is this smooth, lush pop duet which sees their two voices blending expertly. All it needs now is a passionate video with plenty of chemistry to seal the deal. In the meantime, we have an "unofficial video" that AJ made with his friends. Why not x

Ruel
Face to Face

Previous single Painkiller became Ruel's first top 40 hit in his home country of Australia, and with the announcement of second EP Free Time set to be out next month, the new single Face to Face came out in preparation last week. The track is a soulful midtempo track about falling in love over the internet and wondering what it'll be like in person. The video's excellent too - one of Ruel's strongest tools as shown by the Younger and Painkiller videos too - and is well worth a watch. The most mature track yet by this 16 year old!
