Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called a general election well before it was due in order to try to get an overall majority. He won the election but there was almost no change in the distribution of seats. The main gainers were the Parti Qubecois who gained two seats. The biggest losers were the main opposition Conservative party with a net loss of two seats. What a complete waste of time.

I had been hoping it would be blowing up in Trudeau's face a little to go to the polls at such an unnecessary time but I guess the Conservatives are just that much more unappealing. Trudeau's alright from what surface knowledge I have if far from perfect, the Conservatives from what I've seen are genocide deniers.
(why Canada isn't falling into the hands of the incredible Jagmeet Singh after he's RIGHT THERE as a fantastic and charismatic social democrat is shameful but there we go). |
