If N-Dubz (who had maybe a handful of hits and were active for about 4 years) can sell out arena tours in 2023 then I'm sure The Saturdays can pull something off.
There's a nostalgia wave with pop groups from the 90's and 00's getting back together and it's really weird The Saturdays (a group who genuinely liked eachother and had a dozen top ten singles) haven't done it yet. Come on girls. Get back together for a trashy Xenomania type pop bop, a short UK tour, some TV interviews and then you never need to be asked about it again. |

They couldn't sell out arena tours back in the day so I think there's next to no chance of it happening again, but I don't see why a theatre tour couldn't do decently for them, similar to what Sugababes did last year! That said, I think a few festivals (Hoopla notably) would be the best place for them to start, see what the social media buzz is like.

They would go down a storm at Hoopla. If they were going to come back then a theatre tour, Hoopla and headlining Pride festivals would be the best way to go to make some cash I guess.

Oh yeah I don't think The Sats could do arena tours but I mean if N-Dubz can do arenas with less successful discography than The Sats then they should at LEAST be able to sell out theatres on nostalgia alone.

Except N-Dubz actually sold albums, which is the purpose of releasing singles anyway; their first album went 2xPlatinum with the following two albums going Platinum; their least successful album venture is their greatest hits which is "only" Gold. After they split up the first time 8 of their singles has gone Silver, one Gold, one Platinum and of course the Tinchy Stryder collab 2xPlatinum, indicating that there's been a steady streaming interest in them over the years. I just don't think you can compare their successes because they're clearly appealing to a different section of the market. |

N-Dubz split up in 2011 so I'd be surprised if after 12 years that their singles hadn't gotten new certifications. Everyone and anyone would get a Silver certification after that period of time if they're on playlists and had a presence on the music scene for years. The Saturdays also got new certifications since streaming was introduced. It happens to everyone. |

The Saturdays also got new certifications since streaming was introduced. It happens to everyone. You're missing the point; N-Dubz actually sold albums, The Saturdays only sold well with their first album (again, they were hailed as the Girls Aloud replacement), had mediocre sales for their second, passable for their repackaged thing and then flop, followed by a bigger flop and a greatest hits that did mediocre (but is being helped by streaming in the long run). They're clearly appealing to different audiences. But yes, a Mighty Hoopla slot would probably be the most realistic thing for a reunion for them. But I think the main reason why they aren't reuniting is because it's not a lucrative venture for them - they'll have to split it five ways (plus with people surrounding them), they didn't write the majority of their stuff and they can't tour bigger venues. They also weren't about the vocals, so it's hard for them to do a scaled down stage show where they all just stand and sing and do some improvised dance routines (a la Sugababes). The truth is that they probably just earn more money doing random presenting stuff. This post has been edited by tommie: 16th June 2023, 06:53 AM |

15 years, wow. I remember watching their first TV performance in the dresses from the video - forget what the show was called now. Some short lived thing sponsored by a phone company, because 2008 🤣
I so wish they'd just get back and do just one more tour and the greatest hits on vinyl, that's all I'd need. I'm sure Rochelle can take five minutes away from being a shampoo and M&S #bossqueen for that. |

Crazy to think! I remember the build-up to the release and I certainly wouldn't have expected them to last as long as they did, even though they had a somewhat "interesting" career to follow.

I liked their individual colour vibe they had going on for the first album!
On reflection they were a much better girlband than I really gave them credit for at the time. Some great singles, I'm not sure why they didn't connect with me at the time. |

I had a look at their Spotify stream counts. If a song has more than one version I combined their stream counts. I hope I didn't miss anything out! Let me know if you happen to notice anything is missing:

'White Lies' being their most streamed album track ('808' is a B-side, right???)
'My Heart Takes Over' in their top 10 *.* IKTFR!!!! Honestly, although I'd do a little reshuffling in a personal ranking, I do think their most streamed singles are mostly correct in terms of personal preference tbh. |

808, White Lies, Faster and Last Call so high - proof they should've all been singles. White Lies especially.

'Last Call' as a single, hmmm I'm really not sure on that one. 'Faster' for sure though, if only the On Your Radar era had been big enough to have an extra single
I do wonder if '808' could have performed better instead of WYWF, but I think at that point they were done and nothing would've really made that much difference sadly. |
