The X Factor returns to our screens on ITV next month! Simon, Sharon, Louis and Nicole are all back for the shows 14th series.
The Six Chair Challenge is currently being filmed.
Big changes have been confirmed by Simon, including themes FINALLY being scrapped and the live shows have apparently been cut down to six weeks, but with acts performing and leaving on both the Saturday and Sunday night each weekend.
Speaking at the recent filming of bootcamp in London, Simon reportedly told crowds: "All these crazy things we used to do with themes have gone, no more jukeboxes, none of that rubbish this year. The public are smart enough to know what’s real, that’s what we are focusing on this year."
I always complain about it but I still enjoy it and watch it religiously
Just seen an ad for it on ITV - some guy doing a rather rendition of Bey's End of Time.
So excited for this years series (after last year was imo the most enjoyable year ever!) - the one talent show I can fully get behind . Plus they've got rid of themes, the only real bad component of the show, so it sounds like a gripping watch, especially with less live shows.
Hooray. Big Band week you will not be missed x
And the Halloween week where the exact same songs were performed every single year :shakingcheesebloc:
6 weeks of lives shows too, yay. When it was 7 a couple of years ago it felt a lot leaner and more enjoyable.
Savannah from this series of BB has reportedly auditioned. Hyped to see that.
Omg she has the most generic average voice ever, she'll be a 10 seconds in a montage airitme and gets cut at bootcamp type I'm sure.
YAAAAAASS at the theme weeks though, the odd one was ok but they were always the ones that were wide open anyway so didn't reall need to be a theme, like movies or #1s. I hated the genre ones with a passion though, big band and disco especially as nobody would release either of those after the show and they were so dated.
It is indeed Slavko! https://www.escxtra.com/2017/07/22/slavko-kalezic-factor-uk/
The Savannah rumour turned out to be a different Savannah in the end I believe.
Well there's only one more Saturday left in August (26th) and still no confirmation when it's back which I find really bizarre.
EDIT: Rumours going round that it premieres Saturday 2nd September!
The advert's been going around a lot so it does seem likely it'll be back in a couple of weeks!
Random but can anybody remember the %'s between the final 3 (Matt, Saara, 5AM) from last years final?
5am had something like 30% when it froze and Saara got 40% out of her and Matt.
Thanks guys!
ITV has finally announced that it will kick off on Saturday, September 2 at 8pm.
Excited for this. Especially with themes being dropped and performances on both saturday and sunday. Can see the not so good contestants be gone quicker rather than hang around for weeks on end Although knowing the public, the best people will be voted out first
I watched religiously 2009-11 but I got pissed off early in the 2012 series and haven't bothered since. Thinking of getting back into it this year though.
Betting already that it will be shite. Would be happy to be pleasantly surprised tho. I will probably watch it anyway for the craic.
If they can just drop the heavy handed manipulation that would be fab.
Predicting that someone will perform Million Reasons and it will fly up the chart.
Praying for a ban on all Ed Sheeran songs.
http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/the-x-factor/news/a836839/the-x-factor-2017-louis-walsh-picked-novelty-act-to-audition/
After all of the talk about there being no joke acts this year, well, there could be one afterall
Looking forward to the revamp, at least the lives will be interesting.
Guest performances I should imagine Lady Gaga will get a gig, she is touring this autumn (London, Birminigham & Manchester: 9-17 October 2017) and also touring Little Mix.
Nah little stuff like that is fine in here
Omg if Slavko is Louis' "novelty" act!!
I do wonder what the setup for the series will be... are we getting the standard 6 auditions shows or more? If they're planning on getting rid of people on both Saturday and Sunday live shows then this will be over way before Christmas no?
Hopefully so as to leave Xmas no.1 well alone.
Yay we have Shape of you AND a separate Ed Sheeran medley to look forward to tomorrow
Also someone is singing Issues though <3
Sep 2/3 - Auditions 1/2
Sep 9/10 - Auditions 3/4
Sep 16/17 - Auditions 5/6
Sep 23/24 - Auditions 7/8
Sep 30/Oct 1 - Bootcamp 1/2
Oct 7/8 - Six Chair Challenge 1/2
Oct 14/15 - Six Chair Challenge 3/4
Oct 21/22 - Judges Houses 1/2
Oct 28/29 - Live Show 1/2
Nov 4/5 - Live Show 3/4
Nov 11/12 - Live Show 5/6
Nov 18/19 - Live Show 7/8
Nov 25/26 - Live Show 9/10
Dec 2/3 - Grand Final weekend
I imagine something like that but it seems like 4 episodes of Six Chair will be too much, can't remember what they've done in previous years?
It was one epiosde per category last year I think? That seems about right although a whole show for the groups is always a drag
Louisa and Matt both missed Christmas #1, Simon isn't stupid he'll know that he doesn't get Xmas #1 willy nilly so I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan's schedule was right actually, to give them more chance at #1 (but I still think the winner won't get a #1).
Looking forward to tonight's show
I really feel no hype for this at all. I predict lowest first show viewing figures ever for tonight. The only thing in its favour is every other channel seems to be running shit.
It feels like floggin a dead horse for iTV at thr mo
It still gets higher ratings than anything else that will be on tonight though Sure it's past its best than when 17 million people watched Matt Cardle win, but it's not a "dead horse". When the competition is Iolo's Great Welsh Parks (...), Casaulty, Great Canal Journeys and Stonehenge: The Final Mystery, I'm sure it'll do just fine. TV ratings are down in general so like 6-7million for a Saturday night is solid.
Grace Davies is apparently on tonight, she's Janet Devlin's flat mate! *.* I've heard some of her original songs too, I can see her getting very very far based on them!
This isn't dare live is it? Wow.
I'm cringing, this is like a cringy Blazin Squad tribute band
Gamu's autotuned audition teas
Why even have them sing live, just put in the cassette tape and push play.
he kind of sounds like Olly Murs with a throat infection
Why does every white male contesant sound the same?
Kayleigh is definitely the best so far! She's gonna be 9th place fodder though who burns out because she only sings ballads and then I'm Every Woman. I'm screaming at the Sinead O'Connor woman
The Nothing Compares 2U woman. Sounds like how they parody deaf people on TV shows.
Why they feel the need to have those 2 irritating blondes provide a running commentary I don't know.
The last girl was good but too annoying to like.
Nothing really stood yet, but Kay Leigh probably the best act so far.... and that Sinead O'Connor wannabe was like watching paint to dry
Was hoping it was going to be The Saturdays song.
I've got issues with that
lmao as if!
I remember the year they done Issues and Forever Is Over at judges houses though *.*
I think Issues is one of those songs very few people can sing well, but he could be good with othr songs.
They are going to leave the best till last, I can see it happening.
OMG, Ed Sheeran
Lord I'd go INSANE hearing 3rd rate versions of Shape Of You all day Like it's a good song but it's really hard to be interesting while singing Ed Sheeran.
https://twitter.com/andtgav/status/904073164489203712
LMAOOOOOO NOOO
The 15 year old was so good *.*
Ew at the influx of Ed medleys and tracks
Did I hear White Horse in the soundbed? *.*
My faves so far this episode are the woman who sang My Immortal, If I Ain't Got You girl and the guy who sang that 60's song (Sam Black IIRC).
Omg just realised this was on. That woman singing Evanescence was good! Really hope it gets a big boost on iTunes.
That 15 year old girl was good for her age, I just feel she will be snowballed by older girls in the competition, in the later stages.
Omgggg Grace was f***ing INCREDIBLE I've got chills all over my body Such a beautiful song and she has a quirk to her and something unique to her without being really forced and pushed.
Sorry but that song had backing vocals and echoes.
That was stunning
Slavko tomorrow !!!!!!!
Almost fell asleep during that last girl's song.
The best for me were the 60s chap & surprisingly, those geeks. OK, I enjoyed the Brazilian lady too but she was hardly a great singer
Well... they did save the best till last, Grace will probably be the one to watch so far, her voice was pretty much flawless.
Grace was so good
SLAVKO THO
Grace was definitely my favourite of the night
Grace was incredible as well and I also liked the 60's guy that was on earlier
When the voice over person was talking about The X Factor competition he said that one of the prizes are tickets to the final on December 2nd. I guess this means they no longer care about getting the Christmas number one.
I wasn't really impressed by anybody... The boy band who were first on were good but only like two of them have any talent, Grace was okay but she should stop trying to do that kinda Ellie Goulding voice every girl is doing, and I do NOT for one second believe that girl was 15
This got a rating of 6 million, a drop of 800k on last year's launch.
Its a yes from me Lloyd
Thought he was pretty good actually! But someone I'd eventually get bored with each week if he made the Lives like Ché from 2 years ago.
Jesus christ that was irritating from the second he opened his mouth to speak to the second he stopped singing Sharon is me.
That was camp as anything
Georgina's got the voice I feel but that was all over the place, it felt like she tried to hit every note she physically can within the space of that one song
the dude that did Sam Smith was REALLY good
Lmao someone get this woman a Soothers
Living for this woman and her Shirley Bassey cover *.*
Yeah she was great, best so far.
Lady Gaga covers a Shirley Bassey track
It was pretty much Poundland Stars In Your Eyes Shirley Bassey but about the best tonight
Idk who's last but jesus this has to be one of the worst audition shows I can remember.
Not this bloody song AGAIN
She could have chosen a different track to sing, but she pulled it out of the bag, great performance.
Shanaya was brilliant, I think she might be a bit of a Tamera and the nerves and lack of experience will bring her down in the end but you can't fault her voice.
I enjoyed Grace yesterday but I can't say I enjoyed many others oops. Hope there'll be more interesting people next week~
Shanaya was amazing, her voice She'll definitely be my fave if she gets to the live shows!
Really enjoyed the Say Something cover surprisingly, I usually find them boring and contrived but her personality and voice really got me <3 Decent enough opening weekend, though I don't see any obvious faves as of yet !!
I haven't watched the series properly since 2014 but I've really enjoyed this opening weekend!
The welsh guy who bought his Gran along who sang Sam Smith and the girl (Shanaya I think?) who was last up on the Sunday show are my favourites from the weekend. I liked the guy who Nicole said she wanted to squeeze his cheeks and the girl who sang Roots, the original song.
From SuperTV247
Just catching up now. The band who opened Saturday's show are making me want to tear my face off. SO CRINGE.
Finale confirmed for December 2nd.
That's a Saturday so I expect it's the start of the finale weekend!
What happened to Saara Aalto btw?
She's a judge on X Factor Finland for next year and has released a book but I've heard nothing of her music in a while annoyingly, not since a few months ago when they said Sia was gonna write for her. I'm sure she'll have it out to promote on the live shows and launch it here in the best way.
With only 6 live shows. I hope we only have like 8 contestants in the live shows. Other wise it will be multi eliminations most of the time.
I really don't like the idea of hardly any live shows this series. The live shows are always my favourite bit and having hardly any takes away a lot of the spark for me.
I think there's going to be 12 live performance shows, just spread over 6 weeks (results on the same night, 2 shows per week). I think we'll probably get 16 finalists, first few weeks we'll get half performing one night and half the next night (with an elimination for each half)
songs being performed tonight (source: tellymix):
Kevin Davy White: James Brown - It's A Man's World
Rebecca Grace: Kelly Clarkson - Piece By Piece
New Dynamixx (mixed 5-piece group): Little Mix - Touch
Talia Dean: Nina Simone - I Put A Spell On You
Pretty Boy Karma (male duo): Justin Bieber - Boyfriend
Holly Penfield: Meredith Brooks - Bitch
Doctor Woof (!): Use What You Got from The Life musical
Liaa: Kelly Clarkson - The Trouble With Love
Nathan Sailsman: Robbie Williams - Angels
Ginny Lemon: Liberty X - Just A Little
Issy Price: Justin Timberlake - Senorita
Samuel Sheperd: KC & The Sunshine Band - Boogie Shoes
Drew Wedlake: White Stripes - Seven Nation Army
AND judges categories have been revealed
Simon - Groups
Sharon - Girls
Louis - Boys
Nicole - Overs
Interesting choices thee for once in a few cases, I hope they're not all the crappy joke ones
Talia was bloody amazing!!! She could win this whole thing, she's got flecks of Paloma Faith, Amy Winehouse sort of thing.
Pretty Boy Karma were absolutely dreadful, I was half expecting Louis to like them so I was living for his "you make Jedward look like Simon and Garfunkel" comment
That last guy was good, not fussed by anyone else yet. Glad those two wallies at the start were awful.
What the f*** was that cover of Lucky by Britney jesus christ
Still don't think much of this Nathan guy the second time around... I was cringing first time when he was begging to get through, if he didn't have the single dad sob story he wuldn't have got the chance If you're not good enough nd you f*** the audition up, you aren't good enough.
Yeah he was no better the second time round really.
Bit of a dull show tonight, the last guy who sang Angels and Heaven was a tad boring, it just felt he was singing for his other half, which felt she has departed from this world recently.
*.* Ginny Lemon
Rebecca has an amazing voice but she fels a bit awkward atm, she's one to watch I think!
The girls and overs are running away this year.
I feel we've had so many like her that do the exact same style & all sound the same, yawn.
Ginny Lemon was definitely my fave tonight
Ginny Lemon was bad as was the lad in heels, I don't get it, no one really stood out in a good way tonight
Those category allocations are TRAGIC.
Sax *.* is getting performed tomorrow!
Talia is our winner, stop the auditions now.
Just caught up on tonight's episode. The Girls and the Overs are definitely the strongest categories this year (so far), although I must say I'm a bit surprised Nicole has landed the Overs since I feel like she'd work with any category but that.
In all the years X Factor has been on, Louis has never had the Girls category.
Nicole's category is not so bad really when you think about it, she could have acts between the ages of 25 to 33 as her final 3.
Yeah I've noticed that ^^ I think they're always so desperate so get a huge female star to win that they wouldn't trust Louis to not completely balls it up as a mentor. In fact only one series in the show's history has had a male mentor for the Girls (which was Simon last year).
What is the cut-off for the Overs this year? It seems to deviate between 24, 25 or 28+ every series. Overs have also won the comp 3 times so it's by no means a tainted category - that would for sure be the Groups.
Hearing the final is on the 2nd December, puts the winners single out of contention for the Xmas #1, unless they are going to wait for a week before releasing it this year, so it could have a full week of sales instead of the usual 4.
tonight's songs
Whitney Houston - I'm Every Woman
Naughty Boy - Runnin (Lose It All)
Whitney Houston - I Have Nothing
Drake - Hotline Bling
Elvis - Can't Help Falling in Love
Ellie Goulding - Your Song
Sam Smith - Lay Me Down
'Punchline' (original, Aidan Martin)
Fleur East - Sax
'Sing It With Me' (original, Andy Holloway)
quite a boring song list save for Drake/Fleur.
The Cutkelvins are on tonight which feature a former Neon Jungle member!
They were also the stand-out act at the Six Chair session I saw but I won't say what happened...
SHEREEN !!!!!!!
Very impressive band, and the vocals were pretty amazing, great song choice, could go all the way.
I'm surprised they allowed her to compete as she's had a record contract before - even if it was just one album! Shereen was my second favourite in the band after Asami but I wasn't a fan of that performance.
Was a bit wobbly to begin with when the brothers joined in, but they have potential to make it all work and go far.
They were brilliant, I knew I recognised her but omg!! I don't see the problem of her having a contract before tbh, plenty of contestants before have. As long as they don't currently have a contract it doesn't matter. Especially as she was only in a girlband, and that f***ed up. It doesn't mean she should never have a chance ever again There are probably people with way more experience although they had a fair bit of commercial success for a new girlband and its a shame they were dropped so swiftly.
That face is pretty slappable
I've not got an issue, the producers have been fussy in the past hence my surprise. I was expecting them to bring up NJ in the room and encourage her to go solo.
Really liked the Shelly the tortoise chap, along with the Welsh guy who sang Lay Me Down last week, boys looking half decent so far (not as good as girls or groups tho).
I feel like Deanna would be better singing Alicia Keys or Jazmine Sullivan or something similar, she sounds really strained on Whitney and I don't see how the judges were so enamored by that :/
My favourite so far is the Your Song singer and the mixed group with Neon Jungle girl.
That was pretty amazing, really like that
Also I liked Daniel but I feel like he's gonna be the Che/Andrea of the series who peters out a bit because every week he sings the same old ballad
I feel awful for laughing at half of these before they've sang
I didn't love Deanna but like Liam said Alicia would be more suited, maybe even Andra Day.
next week's #1 single
This guy is my fave male singer so far (even though he's an over not a Boy), but I cba with the sob story as if getting dumped is something uniquely tragic to just him I just hate when they make sob stories out of ANYTHING.
Punchline sounds like the title sequel to Sledgehammer. Didn't rate the audition it was all very set up too much imo with the story the song the judges reaction.
Yeah definitely, it's hard to judge the song as a song if they've set up so much it feels like you feel or him because of the story not the song If you're gonna sing an original I think you should let it speak for itself like Grace did last week.
I actually made a spoiler thread for XF this series but it's fallen off the first page! http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=203093 <- contains my brief write-up of the girls' six chair challenge.
This Stay audition is PAINFUL.
My two favourites of the night so far are Russell Jones and Benji Matthews both great performances imo.
SHOWBIZ in the coming soon trailer !!
Conor & Sean were incredible
OMG, Mr Showbiz tomorrow. *.*
Me before Conor & Sean: "I wonder if this is going to be as predictable as I expect it to be.." They were really good!
Nicole Simpson is the youtuber Red who is one of my favs!!!! She should have done her Love Me Or Leave Me cover!
Ratings hit a series high last night as 6.3m tuned in.
Just killed a classic Justin Timberlake track
I think Sharon was unnecessarily rude to the Mum/Daughter duo.
No-one has really stood out in this episode so far however
I knew that was going to happen from the start, the daughter would be better than her mother, I have to agree though, the daughter really stood out.
99% sure I am just hate watching this show now.
That last guy was dreadful.
WHERE WAS SHOWBIZ
I caught a bit of tonight's show by accident whilst eating my roast. The show has curiously never looked more like it's on life support. I wouldn't be surprised if next year is the last year of it.
Tonight was pretty shite, the Aretha Franklin girl was about the best but she was the overdone trope of being made to seem super ditzy and dumb so people think she'll be crap or basic and then comes out and she's really soulful I agree Sharon was quite rude about the mother and daughter, I don't think the daughter was THAT good, she was better than the mother sure but I can't see how she was so ood that they go like that over her, she isn't good enough to compete with the likes of Grace or Holly in the girls category.
I agree with Harry the last guy was terrible, his tone on the second song was offputting and the Uptown Funk perf was so identikit.
They need a better selection of song choices tbh.
Can we put a blanket ban on Alicia Keys songs? I'm bored of seeing people try to tackle If I Ain't Got You
Watched some of this.
It was reaaally borin.
Slavko's on tonight! https://www.escxtra.com/2017/09/23/slavko-appears-tonight/
'Space' was genuinely robbed!
So strange this is the last weekend of auditions!
Spencer is rather.... not a bad audition!
I think there needs to be a ban on certain songs being performed, ffs
It's gone so quickly indeed!
HOWLING at that M Train AATB!!!!
Well the best thing about this is the Born This Way instrumental
Never saw that coming, best act tonight, I think we found the winner
LISTEN?
Quoting my post from earlier
SHOWBIZ
Catching up on last night, the girl who sang Listen was good but she feels very generic big voiced diva imo. Also screaming at her family selling takeaway on the side of the road as a sob story.
Rai-Elle was good I think, can't really make my mind up and Sail was a bit of a random audition song but I guess it was nice to have something different. Idk if she'll d oa Tamera and have bags of potential but not quite make it.
Oops lowest ratings ever thanks to the Strictly launch.
Apparently only 6 of the 24 acts who made it to Judges Houses auditioned "properly", 18 were there scouted!! Oh dear, BB teas
Omg that's an absurd statistic Liam!!!!
I'm floored at that boy band duo - "Jack made the right choice"
The last guy was pretty good
And Amy Winehouse changing into Joan Jett
Haven't seen many bands auditioning this year, I think I saw about 2 or 3. The judges must be putting the bands together at Boot Camp stage, by picking single acts and grouping them to form a band.
Omg, this woman is phenomenal
Berget has a Eurovision connection too!She was a semi-finalist in the Dutch 2003 national selection for Eurovision
What an appalling show tonight. The woman changing outfits, Nicole and Louis singing with the two old ladies...what utter filler/garbage
The woman ending the show oversinging Purple Rain was also horrendous.
Yeah tonight was awful Berget was the only one I enjoyed really, technically she is brilliant but she's very Overs category in 2005, you just know should she make the lives that she'll only ever sing the same old ballads except the obligitary I'm Every Woman or Could It Be Magic week. Plus there is no commercial potential really, I know the show is hardly churning out Leona Lewis level stars now, but a 45 year old soul singer isn't going to set the charts alight.
This year in general feels lacklustre talent wise, the standouts from auditions for me were definitely Grace, Talia Dean and The Cutkelvins, but theres a handful of others I can see a lot of potential in like Georgina, Aidan and Rebecca. The boys category has been absolutely HORRIFIC, no wonder they'v lumbered them with Louis Grace is leagues ahead of anyone though, if she carries on like this she'll just storm the whole thing like Louisa. I still tear up a bit and get chills when I rewatch her performance of Roots
I hope it was just my imagination that Showbiz Simon auditioned on here at the weekend?
Pretty boring episode on the whole.
I also did find Ms Joan Jett Amy Winehouse pretty unique!
Pretty boring episode on the whole.
I also did find Ms Joan Jett Amy Winehouse pretty unique!
Descapito is one of the song choices
What the **** is up with all these breaks!!!!!!
That episode was a bit of a chore, Shanaya's solo bit tho *.* The group bit was a bit long imo, like the drama is always fun but the performances are nearly always total messes. I would've lol'd if Alisah got sent home, I find her so overrated on Twitter
I think Alisah is so musical theatre, she literally has no chance at a solo career at all. Shanaya is unreal, and I really like Grace Davis too! Aidan Martin's audition was so good too, and hope those three make it far!
Holly’s version of Harry Styles was better than the original such a standout, as was Georgina!!!
Sam Black is *.* I don’t get why the judges have been harder on him than most of the boys category? It’s almost as if they know the category is weak and there is little clawback from that. That cheesy proposal though
Berget’s slot annoyed me, or more so the judges. Just because there are others in the category doesn’t mean she can’t sing songs which are suited to her genre and voice. Fantastic she’s through, probably the only memorable over for me this year!
Oh ffs I thought bootcamp was over still, I am SO excited to relive the girls' six chair challenge next week *.*
my issue is we're listening to everyone sing a song now and then again next week - it's practically the same round with added chord - pretty boring
Boot camp was more or less laughably disasterous this year and I agree about the horrific editing.
Georgina was fab at the end though.
they really should have Song Wall and then straight to Six Chair Challenge..
It's definitely too much, I don't think they need all this In previous years they skip through whole bits of bootcamp quite quickly and I think they should stick to that, I et that those bits are needed to cut down on the loads of people who made it through auditions but to televise ALL of it really does just drag. They could easily just allude to the fact that this is the process the contestants go through with a little montage but not show it all... The group bit was just a mess as I said and this solo bit always feels a bit Poundland Six Chair Change as it's the same thing just without the tension and pressure of getting and keeping a seat. There's just not a need for it all Like they don't show both judges houses songs and that's fine.
My issue with this boot camp thing, its the flashback to the auditions, when acts come to stage to perform are they really needed, we already know what acts are through, we don't need the constant reminder of the auditions of how they got to boot camp, when they can show more acts, its like they show 2 acts, than an ad break, another two acts to follow by another ad break etc etc.
Also I find this series is a bit rushed. I think I know who the final 3 girls will be practically, I could easily pick the final 3 already, I can see them going for Holly that's one, as for the other girls the daughter that got picked over her mother, and Gracie. I wouldn't be surprised the 3 piece family band (2 boys and the girl, I can't remember the name of the band) going through to the lives.
I just thing this show needs to be shelved for life, sadly its contracted for another 2 years. Just needs something like it with a new concept to it.
Saturday received 4.9 million viewers average and a peak of 5.8 million peak, compared to a 9.3 million average and 10.2 million peak for Strictly, oh dear
I'm failing to see where the 'huge changes' that were promised are...this series is exactly the same as the last one and the one before. The current 'bootcamp' stage is basically just the arena auditions that used to come after room auditions for 2/3 series a few years ago. The group performances from Saturday night were perhaps the worst ever in that stage. Bring back Gifty et al singing "Work from Home" *.*
I'm quite surprised they didn't put Sam Black through but his voice was really boring and he just looked awkward on stage. Very glad Georgina got through, her and Alisah the night before have been the best of the current stage for me.
Finally caught up, I feel like they've sent all the good guys home & kept the crap ones.
A few good singers left in the Girls category at least, and the chair challenge tonight is always so overly melodramatic it's arguably the most entertaining stage of the entire process.
Oh so 6 chair is next week? Yeah they've really dragged this on way too long this year.
Another chap I liked out, they're literally gonna be left with that irritating skunkhead representing the boys aren't they.
Really want to like this guy cos he's so against the grain compared to the typical contestant but his antics are always clearly trying to cover up the fact his voice is pretty crap.
SO bored of the Liverpool guy - so, so bored. Didn’t think Clique were that great either and Daniel going was a shock as he’s one of the better ones from the boys
Jesus this is really dragging that it isn't the six chair challenge yet Like we've all said, this is just a lesser version of the six chair challenge so that doesn't help either.
Six chairs starts tomorrow! Bootcamp is reaaaally dragging this year though
So will that mean it's rushed through in one episode or will be all next weekend too? 3 full episodes for 6 chair is really not necessary either.
Thank **** for that - I’m already so bored of boot camp and we’re only 30 minutes in. Rak Su were such bores - what is going on?!?!
This is the first series where I feel like I'm finally losing interest. Need 6 chair challenge pronto
I liked Talia (I think it was) but that's about it so far. Slavko is acceptable for the annual token novelty act.
Ugh "last one" they're so blatantly trying to get this girl to win
This years series has been appalling. If Grace doesn't win it by a landslide then something is seriously wrong.
Don't find her that standout myself but I appreciate she's stuck to her own material so far (but the "song" wasn't any more special than all those boys' ones they sent home in a row last week).
"Roots" was sublime
I put my money on Gracie this year, going all the way, that performance was just stunning, and vocally on point, and a tear jerker of a track that blew me away, gave me goosebumps listening to that.
Ladbrokes actually have Grace as favourite to win already
Their top 4
1. Grace Davies (5/2)
2. Sean & Conor Price (6/1)
3. Holly Tandy (7/1)
4. Rak-Su (8/1)
Quite a few acts in 5th @ 16/1.
Rak-Su
Sean & Conor Price, are they those 2 guitar lads? Be amazed if they even reached the Live shows...
Shanaya @ 50/1 Think it might be worth having a little bet on her.
Actually the perfect 3 girls as the final 3 for me would be, Gracie, Holly and the girl from the duo with her mother, but I'm not sure if she is through, as she hasn't been shown for a while. I didn't spot her in the last segment of the show.
Rak-Su and the brothers are TERRIBLE, so I hope they're wrong there The latter especially, I just can't see anything in them but that acoustic bland style is all the rage. I feel like they're the sort that would be afforded pass after pass for being shit because of "potential" that they never actually reach. Rak-Su I find a bit like 5am, they prance about and make it a sort of "big" performance or fun to make up for the fact they can barely sing.
Grace is by MILES the best year, there's nobody even near her level. I thnk allowing original songs has been a good thing as it's allowed her straight away to push herself as the artist she'll actually be not just a copycat diva we've seen every year like say Alisah or Deanna from the girls.
4.8 million viewers last night, LORD I know that TV viewing figures are down in general but there's no defending that mess really, no surprise as such as the bootcamp episodes are so tedious like we've all said but sub 5m for a primetime TV show on a Saturday with such a history as XF is just awful. Hopefully it goes up for the 6 chair challenge but I still can't see it going above like 6m. It clashes with Strictly tonight so I'm not expecting that much of a boost however
One of the worst series (if not the worst) in a long time so the ratings don't surprise me in the slightest tbh
Has anyone else gone off Sharon this series? Shes come across really rude on several occasions (with the mother/daughter act, Nicole [iirc] saying she didn't believe her and the whole "I don't want to mentor the girls"). I don't know if I'm reading too much into it but I remember when shes been on the show before shes usually a laugh and isn't so cut throat like that or with contestants.
Raelle is easily the best girl left in the comp, those other 2 are awful. Shame the Irish girl was thrown out she was a lot more interesting if not the best vocalist, poor song choice screwed her.
DIdnt think Raelle was as good as her first audition! Holly is steadily becoming my favourite - that was BRILLIANT.
Who the hell made it acceptable to sing Me Too on this show?
Don't like Alisa at all, just so old fashioned & overly theatrical, one trick pony, yawn.
She’s got a fab voice but feels very Sam Bailey. If it were me I’d have swapped out Scarlett or the girl who sang Me Too.
Preferred Grace’s first two originals in all honesty - she was going to get a seat regardless what she sang as she’s easily Sharon’s favourite. I do find myself going off her more and more - last week it was her thinking of herself and she’s in a competition and tonight it’s all I’m so sorry I’m taking your seat? That comes with a competition but makes her seem pretty fake IMO.
Sharon’s decisions are mostly questionable so far - Scarlett is good but I’d have swapped her for Grace over Alisah.
Even for X Factor standards this is farcical, brought back twice, why don't they just hand her the trophy now
I bet they'll get rid of Raelle too.
What a mess, a sing off between 3 acts
It’s annoying as she’s got a voice and made a fluff up at boot camp and still got through when many wouldn’t have got that. Scarlett’s diction in the sing off wasn’t brilliant nor was Alisah but FairPlay for changing it up and not playing safe.
That was complete cringe from Alisa.
AT LEAST they made the right choice in sending that bag of hot air home tho!
That was a MOMENT from Alisah !!!!
Scarlett is better off in a musical to be honest, for some reason Realle would have been better off in a girl band, and Alisa not totally keen on her, hopefully the public will vote her off if she is in the lives.
Grace is easily my favourite girl with Allisah second!!
I'm so fed up of Alisah having a tantrum every time she isn't chosen Whats she gonna do when she's voted off if she gets to the live shows? It's just so tedious and she isn't even THAT good, she has a great voice but in a diva way we've seen countelss times on this show. And she is not a popstar at all, although I guess none o them are going to be stars with these ratings I just feel like we've seen her before, whereas the likes of Grace and Rai-Elle have an edge that makes them stand out a bit more than just a voice.
Has to be Grace, Rai-Elle and then either Holly or Georgina for me in the final 3 but I can see it being Grace, Ailsah and Georgina.
Alisah wasn't the one having the tantrum this time, it was the entire crowd! The atmosphere on TV only gives a glimpse as to what it was like but the crowd was shouting for aaaages to bring Alisah back, she got an insane reception!
I think that's a fair point Liam's raised about Alisah - is she going to be able to cope with the stress of being voted off, if it were to happen?
I don't think I can remember a judge making so many decisions that most would disagree with?
The whole show is basically being built around Grace, let's be real here Not complaining because I adore her but I've never known such a clear-cut winner before.
Obviously anything can happen but I'll be very surprised if Grace doesn't just walk this.
I still feel like that's too good to be true and the public won't take to her or something, but then again Louisa absolutely walked her series having been the only worthy one really so it can happen again!
She seems pretty much tailored to the show though, like she's likeable enough but not too OTT in your face personality because obviously that kills any female contestant on XF, she's like the nice normal girl from down the road. She's got enough sort of confidence issues "I never thought I was good enough" to make a bit of journey, but not too much so that she seems whiny or like that's all she's built on.
That Raylee is UTTER SHIT
Just stop the X Factor and give it to Grace
Wiw
Raelle ia utter crap
Screams, not even reaching screeching tbh, and shouts.
That is not singing.
And her CHEEESY wannabe Cher Lloyd moves.
Oh.
Dear.
I don't think Grace would be a deserving winner at all. I liked her first original song but singing original music isn't what the show is about - I actually like hearing people's take on a classic/current track and it's not like it's difficult for contestants to 'make it their own' as the judges like to say. I want to hear covers from her in judges houses to prove me wrong because she does have a good voice.
I'm very glad that Scarlett didn't get through (although as it's the X Factor, I won't believe it until I see the girls in the airport in their judges' houses episode). Alisah's voice was insane on "All by Myself" and then when she came back I was really willing her to do something current to prove Simon in particular wrong and "Bang Bang" was an excellent choice!
I'm also still loving Georgina but her vocals weren't as strong as last week and Raelle(?) - her vocals are insane for a 16 year old!
Also I heard Simon mention that some of the girls should form a group: I'm predicting now (haven't read the spoiler thread to see if it's confirmed) that it'll be the Irish girl (from a previous group with her mother), Sky (who I'd never seen before), the Australian girl who sang "Me Too" and the blonde one that performed second to last. I'd also like to see Tahlia come back but I don't think she'd suit that particular group.
The big girl with curls was as shit as that Rayrlle too. My god shouting is not singing
I can't see the free app voters going for Grace (or any of the girls for that matter)
Did y'all see how FAKE Scarlett was, from the Adele-wannabe-forced-persona down to her fake tan fown to her putting a finger to her wye during that awful Rayelle song, pretending to cry, then pretending to be shocked at every turn, and saying crap like 'wait for it!'
Wow.
Surely Holly will slay this competition?
Yes a LOT
Loads Sharon gave a seat too are screech or just shout like Raylee, awful vocals.
So it should be restricted only to kareoke singers? Lol.
I see where you’re coming from Theo. An original is great but it is nice to see covers of songs as even established artists sing covers and aren’t all het up on their originals!
I don't see Grace winning either, she's going to have the opposite of a "journey" from what I can see because once she gets to the live shows, she has to perform covers and I think it'll totally eliminate her niche and what makes her supposedly exciting. I haven't even thought the songs since the auditions were particularly good and I can't see her lasting the whole way.
Ever since their audition I've thought the two Irish lads would win, now I know Simon has the groups I'm even more confident. Marketing 'Ed Sheeran as a group' would be very easy and on trend.
Grace struggled a lot with the first bit of bootcamp having to do someone else's song. I come across as I absolutely hate her or something but I don't, I just have other preferences in her category I'd love Holly to win but it'd be Louisa/Ella all over again with Syco having no idea really where to market her among current acts.
Thinking back about Alisah, can we just remind ourselves of this? It's pretty recycled with 4I doing it the following year as well.
Omg yes Sean that's what annoyed me about Alisa's sing-off bit, legit she just did the exact same as 4I did but the judges act like every time she sings it's Whitney back from the grave :lol; She has a powerful voice but that's it, and that isn't all the show is about. it's about finding someone who could be a successful popstar, I know that the ratings kind of stop that happening but it is stil called The X Factor, it isn't just for her belting Whitney or Mariah every week.
I just get an Ella feel that the wheels are gonna fall off for her if she can't mix it up well enough, too many originals and I think she runs the risk of not making a lasting impression, unless all of her songs are fab (and let's be real, none of them have come close to Roots yet).
Watching live for a change
what was that
Love the afro group, very Reggie N Bollie.
Really like Cutkelvins too, groups starting off well!
f***ing hell this series is an abomination
I think the first 2 seats are goners, by the time Simon chooses his final 6, Simon is just filling up the seats with the first 6 acts.
The Cutkelvins are actually pretty good, probably my favourite band.
Oh ffs. It's to the point where I'm being put off watching the show because the same songs get performed EVERY SINGLE TIME. The producers seriously need to change this shit up.
...and the fact Cowell thinks somebody performing Say Something is 'genuis' says it all really doesn't it?
BANG BANG OH HOW VERY ORIGINAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Agreed there, same with Bang Bang, even more so now.
Say Something was a pretty great choice for that duo tbf, a really good and understated performance, even if we've heard the song a million times!
Insert raging lady with curtain gif - BANG BANG AGAIN? pink jumper guy is brill tbf!
Not very nice Nicole
The last girl band were pretty awful when compared to the previous ones, guessing the made up girl band is yet to come, he had to cut some girl bands out, as there is too many of them.
Oh jesus christ Rak Su make me want to rip my own face off
This is very dated..
The red vest guy from Rak-Su can take a seat on me x
Yeah no idea why the hell they liked them so much, boring performance.
Rak Su were surprisingly ok this time but still very obnoxious, 5AM style.
Yeah Rak-Su ar very 5am,their originals are catchy enough but the sort of thing that anyone could sing and prance about to.
I HATE Sean and Connor, how many chances are they going to get for being utter shit? They're like any given busker you'd see in town "singing" some shit Ed Sheeran demo from 2011.
the filipino boy band and the two acoustic lads are amaaaaazing
Thinking the made up girl band will get a seat, and take off the 2 guys at the end.
Surely with Nicole on the panel the whole panel would be aware a girl group of six is unlikely to work????
That girl and has real potential, first I've seen bar the Cutkelvins from these groups I can say that about! I agree there's probably too many though, Little Mix having 4 is the exact right number and I think it's why they work so well, not too many cooks spoiling the pot but they all bring something different to the table.
Jack & Joke need to go
Has to be Lemonade, Cutkelvins and the new girl group they made for me in the lives, but undoubtedly it will be Sean and Connor, Rak-Su and probably Cutkelvins.
I must admit the filipino boy band were pretty good, I would have sent home Jack & Joke its practically a no brainer, they seem to be the novelty act of 2017
What the flying f*** was that
Thought that guy got kicked out at the auditions! Must have paid his way back in...
Talia is the best over by far! My heart stopped then when Nicole said I'm sorry, thought she was gonna send her home :/
I can't at her putting Danny through :')
Nicole must be fuming to have the Overs
Why on earth did Nicole put that guy through, she wouldn't know what good music is, if it hit her in the face.
Rant over....
Pretty sure she did it just to troll the crowd, and that she'll swap him out by the end.
Looks like the Overs is going to end as cliffhanger, I can't see this finishing at 10:15
Slavko is the kind of act that Moldova would enter to Eurovision.
They'll probably spill over a bit into tomorow but I'm sure they'll get most of them done, they'll probably just not show half of them like they have done the whole way so far
The new Sam Smith chart killer
Can't believe he brought back thr one with the lazy eye
6 is way too many
This seems to be the poorest category this year, nobody is really standing out so far apart from Talia.
Is there another episode on??
I seem to be behind
Why so many specifically from The Philippines this series I wonder?
Probably as they scouted most of the contestants that are at this stage
Man alive 2 hrs long!!!
What... over the old guy
Nicole’s third seat is pretty fit!!!! *.*
I’m so BORED of that bearded guy and the lady in red providing commentary, move on already
That was a BAD swap but I'm fairly confident she'll be brought to have a sing-off with 3 others.
That cannot be it, what the actual f*** is Nicole on?! Horrendous category with karaoke singers at best, other than Slavko for novelty this category reads like what the overs typically would be in like 2006. Talia is the only one with any commercial appeal or star quality, but oh it's fine because Slavko is sassy and flips his fake ponytail and the Fillipino woman is a fighter!!1!1!1 I mean ik it's more than singing, but why say "that audition disappointed me" but gie her a seat because she wants it? Don't they all, that's why they've auditioned lmao
I hope she does get a sing-off chance, otherwise why do they listen to the idiotic crowd for every girl they boo at a swap for but not for this?
I couldn't finish it
Berget Lewis along with Talia are the only decent overs this year, the rest are quite forgettable if were being honest
Caught up earlier today and nearly chucked my remote at the screen when Talia was asked to leave.
I did not rate Kevin at all but that was completely the right swap!
Didn't think the guy with the guitar who was just given a seat should have taken seat two though.
Nicole's category is becoming too messy for my liking.
Benji will be back next week undoubtedly because Anthony is no longer in the process. Unless he did take part in Judges' Houses?
What do you mean
I used the wrong emoji meant to put not
Can't believe Louis got rid of Benji
Well the overs are pretty much boring bar Slakvo and the Dutch woman.
The boys lmaoo what a mess my two faves were sent home.
I think Sharon has the strongest category this year. The boys' group is weaker than usual, most of the groups are a mess and the less said about the overs, the better.
Russell is SOO attractive
The boys are as bad as the overs, Benji was the only one I really liked and he's gone
Russell is fit, sorry not sorry.
The fact Louis got rid of Benji... What an absolute joke. AND THE FACT RISE UP WAS PERFORMED AGAIN
Russell could've had a seat on me instead x
(omg I need to STOP using that line, I tweeted it about Matt Linnen too who is the hottest of all this year)
Live shows start Saturday 28th October, 8:15-10:00 so no Strictly clash as that finishes at 8:15 that night! The show for that Sunday is 7-9pm. Matt Terry is performing that weekend also.
That's really early
Another Eurovision fun fact because I know you all LOVE THEM, Jon Lilygreen (who got a seat in the Overs and was removed right at the end) represented Cyprus in the 2010 contest and reached the final!
Ready for Laura Tesoro to turn up next year
Does anyone else think they take us for aimpletons every time an original with full on advanced production plays? Like yup, they haven't been scouted and don't have producers, nope
anyone who really follows The X Factor is fully aware that they use talent scouts.
I must say this series has been the worst I've seen yet though, barely anyone I really like and the auditions and bootcamp really dragged.
Yeah right It's not at all a new thing, an talent show does it. They still have to go through the same channels and audition but they scout a lot. The Voice scouts prertty much everyone on it I think. Although I did read 18/24 of this judges house lot were scouted this series lmao that is quite a lot.
We're getting wildcards! So there'll be 16 finalists across he 6 weeks, presumably one going home on each Saturday and one on each Sunday. It's probably a few too many for a shorter live shows but eh.
If that's the case, the manipulation and attempted dragging down of contestants is gonna be on another level to try and keep their favoured acts in
16 acts is way too many for live shows. Can the twist be that they all come from the girls because the other categories are full of shite x
Tracey was on This Morning today and looked so much better natural! Shame that can't change her vocals but oh well x
Matt's voice is borderline painful but god he's beautiful
Matt's got no chance, but I can honestly see any of the others going through!
Nicole must have been thinking with one thing there and it isn't her ears
Ffs genuinely would have chosen the total opposite of those Not that I like Slavko, but Matt's voice is SO weak and Kevin's really grates on me. Tracey gave probably her best performance but what a joke, Talia and Berget were definitely the best vocalists of those 6. How can Nicole be like "your voice is always on the verge of breaking", "the public won't get it" and "you have a weaker voice than the others" but let them through :/
Yeah bit of a mess from Nicole there, I'm glad Slavko's gone but letting go of Talia is a big mistake.
Worst category ever, totally poles apart, Talia was the best of the six.
Really happy to see Kevin through - the type of sound that hardly ever makes the lives!
Rai-Elle
Rai-Elle, the first one, and Grace (obv) should go through. Not a fan of the girl that just did Sam Smith, so generic and uninspired.
Imagine a Rai-Elle and Stefflon Don collab!!
Alisah is so bland imo, she has a big voice sure, but that's not what the X Factor is about. Sharon is right, she just always sings ballads like some sort of overly polished clean cut Disney princess. She's very much like someone who'd come like 2nd or 3rd on The Voice ad you'd never hear from her again (which is exactly how her career went in the Phillipines).
YES RAI-ELLE
Rai-Elle strikes me as someone who'd really grow and seriously challenge for the win in a longer series, but with only 6 the ones who need a bit longer to flourish will suffer a bit.
Sharon got that spot on, they were definitely the three best.
The perfect three,. I'm learning towards Holly as the stand out act.
Agree with what's been said above, the three girls I wanted through have got through
Grace SO reminds me of Anne-Marie, looks and personality wise?
I'm gutted for Georgina/Gigi I thought she was great tonight hope she gets the Wildcard . The 3 girls that got through were good as well to be fair the girls category was tough .
Grace was my favourite from the girls category but that has switched to Rai-Elle tonight! The latter was great while I am starting to get a bit bored of the former oops.
Catching up now and saw who went through already, I got 3/3 for girls and 0/3 for overs of my faves!!
Definitely would have chosen Georgina over Holly, but otherwise good picks from Sharon! The Overs is a complete disaster this year though. Gutted for Talia
Will type up my thoughts later as only have phone atm! Liam Payne and Stormzy are next weekend so peformers.
I'm surprised they put Matt through- do they really want another Ben Haenow/Matt Cardle effortless win?
Caught the first 10 minutes of Judges Houses last night whilst finishing my dinner. Was easily the most cringeworthy 10 minutes of TV I've possibly seen all year. When Nicole proceeded to go all London Borough of Brixton on her arse by introducing Stormzy as 'killing it in the game' it was like the televisual equivalent of nails down a blackboard.
Not to mention that recruiting him as a guest judge is as contrived a stab at still being relevant as it's ever been for a show in this position. And (I don't know the contestants names) but that loud and common one in Nicole's category asking if the antelope they saw on safari was a reindeer made me weep for humanity. Jesus.
Talia And Georgina as wildcards please. Liam and Stormzy being performers is also brilliant, I’m not fond of Payne’s new song but the idea of Blinded By Your Grace becoming a hit is so exciting
Still can't believe Nicole chose that awful TracyLeanne. Maybe Tracy is Simon's personal friend who knows.
Also Grace didn't deserve a place in the Live Shows after that drama.
By the way, my wildcard choices from Overs and Girls category are Slavko and Alisah.
YAS Cut Kelvins *.*
I have a funny feeling a group is going to win it this year, The Cutkelvins are pretty much flawless, I think the New Girl Band and Rai Shuk will make the final 3 along with Lemonade or the Brothers as the Wild Card performance. We haven't had a band winning this since Little Mix.
Yeah the groups are actually lowkey strong this year could actually seeing one of them winning if they sing the right songs !
Someone needs to gif Cheryl's face from Rak Su's performance
I've got a horrible feeling Sean and Connor Price could win I want to say Rai-Elle will be the one who'll emerge in the lives and snatch from Grace but they're white, mediocre and young singing bland Ed Sheeran esque songs.
I can't believe they sang a song about a palm tree
If they get into the finals and keep on singing tracks like that the public will soon get bored week after week. Get rid of... please
I can see Lemonade will be the wild card act.
I knew Rak-Su would make it.
Not too keen on the Boys category they are all pretty bland this year, I can't see the winner coming out of the Boys category. I'm going to take a stab in the dark and the winner will come out from the Band category.
yes at Cutkelvins and Rak-Su!
Knew Sean & Connor would get in but really hope they leave in like week 3 or something, I can't at them contending to win.
I can't believe I'm having dinner with Louis Walsh
That's going on my CV
not liking any of the boys this year so far
Yeah all of the boys are a bit bland tbh .
Yeah the boys just have NOTHING to them between them all.
Great performance from Spencer there
Lloyd is by far the best boy and I kinda find him cute af?? He's still nothing special though, he's too musical theatre/adult contemporary for me, like he SCREAMS cover album for mothers day.
LLoyd was the weakest imo and I can see him being the first boy eliminated.
Louis is judging only by their looks, Jack should have been chosen, if this is not true.
EDIT: "You're a great person, but you're ugly". Louis forgot to finish his sentence...
Jack wasn't anything special but he was one of the best of whtt we were given so not good to see him already out
OMG! Votes closing tomorrow.
Vote for Slavko please. I really need a joke act every year.
it's not the end for Slavko!!! pick up your phones people!!1
3x Alisah
1x Lemonade
1x Talia
^ my votes on the app!
Voted for Georgina mainly but also gave a vote to Lemonade on the App .
Gave all my votes to Talia, might do Lemonade on my iPad though
4x Lemonade
1x Talia
Talia/Lemonade/Georgina/Leon are all by far my faves of each category in the wildcard selection!
Finally back on my laptop so can type a decent commentary on the events of the weekend!
Overs:
I can't believe Kevin and TracyLeanne are through over Talia and Berget I do agree with her judgements on Slavko - definitely not strong enough and doesn't have the complete package of performer and vocalist. As far as guest judges go, Stormzy was such a desparate choice!
My three based on judges house would have been:
1. Talia
2. Matt
3. Berget (as the rest were pretty snooze and shes vocally MUCH better and did power through which is majorly needed in contestants imo)
Girls:
Rai-Elle completely surprised me and based on her performane last night I'd definitely have put her through. That rap was pretty decent as well! I definitely did not rate the tear tantrums from Deanna or Grace, the latter of which just frustrated me with her crying fest Georgina wasn't strong enough last night which was disappointing as well. I'm a little bit disappointed Alisah didn't get through but she was up against Grace and the tears/Sharon pausing the performance brigade for added drama!
My three based on judges house would have been:
1. Holly
2. Rai-Elle (easily the stand out of the category after the performance)
3. Alisah
Groups:
Am I missing the whole point of Cheryl being a guest judge in that shes been on the show and is 1/5 of one of the best girl groups to come out of the UK???? Why push the solo agenda in her VT and completely ignore why shes a co-judge for the GROUPS. Minor thing aside, I did not rate the Cutkelvin's and did feel as if Simon was pushing Cabello presence a bit by changing their song. CRINGE at New Girlband or whatever they are called saying they're like sisters - please, you've been together for half a round and hardly know eachother in comparison to groups like RakSu or Cutkelvins I am finding the one with the red hat pretty annoying though! Jack and Joel were a total surprise for me and actualy really loved it RakSu are a poor mans JLS, just more annoying. Their original sounded SO much like Not Letting Go by Tinie Tempah and Jess Glynne, hardly original imo. I really don't see the appeal of Sean and Connor either, butchering a current hit but a Pink hit too
My three based on judges houses would have been:
1. Lemonade
2. Jack and Joel
3. The Cutkelvins
Boys:
Firstly the whole Sam Black thing is just ridiculous - you can't be that surprised to be bought back with that amount of camera people in ya living room Mika is another Stormzy in terms of guest judges. Aidan is a total snoozefest and haven't warmed to any of his performances.
My three based on judges houses would have been:
1. Leon (really liking him and with Lloyd is the standout, imo)
2. Spencer
3. Lloyd (very much like Alisah I could see him struggling further down the line)
0/3 of my boys through oops, no chance of winning from any of them
My wildcard votes:
2x Deanna
2x Aidan
1x Jack & Joel
Lloyd is Alisah. Alisah is Lloyd. Both are far more suited to musical theatre, and it would be ridiculous if he got anywhere near winning.
Spencer's really the only boy that got through I'm liking. The groups have turned out to be very strong in the end, although personally I'd have put Jack and Joel through over Rak-Su.
(also rest assured I shall be voting MULTIPLE times for Slavko x)
5x baguette
I can't see anyone other than Talia being the overs wildcard, the girls will probably be Alisa and the boys Jack, I have no idea for the groups, I could feasibly see it being any of the 3.
WILDCARD PREDICTIONS
BOYS: Want - Leon, Think - Leon
GIRLS: Want - Georgina, Think - Alisha
OVERS: Want - Talia, Think - Slavko
GROUPS: Want - Lemonade, Think - Lemonade
WINNER PREDICTION (I know it's early but whatever )
Sean and Connor, basically echoing what Liam said -
My wildcard votes -
2x Leon
1x Lemonade
1x Georgina
1x Talia
Matt is my other prediction for Britain getting it terribly wrong and voting with what's in their pants rather than what's in their head Hopefully that was just a hiccup for Grace and now she knows she is in the lives she can give it hr all but I feel like she's one of those who'll cry and go OTT when she has the one inevitable "that was good but not as good as your other performances" moments in week 3 or sth
The official website has revealed that there is no sing off this series I'm kind of glad because I was sick of the amount of faux tension you got just for there to be deadlock most weeks, and times when they didn't seem to care about the singoff like Four Of Diamonds surviving numerous times despite always being shite, but I guess it makes sense as there isn't a dedicated results show so they'll probably get it done quicker each week. If they still had the separate Sunday show, I think it would be really empty. It's gonna feel so different as a show though, I quite like the event of having a whole results show on the Sunday.
The official website says that two categories will perform each night, and th results will be based solely on the public vote , but the eliminees "may be either the act with the lowest number of votes across both categories that performed or the act with the lowest number of votes from each category that performed". I hope this means that it's just the lowest two regardless, so say the bottom 2 of the vote was Kevin and Tracey-Leanne, they'd both go rather than say Kevin being bottom and Lloyd 3rd bottom but Lloyd goes because Tracey is also an over. If they mean it chops and changes that feels like a fix, I think the fairest way is just the two with the lowest votes are eliminated regardless otherwise it undermines the votes really. If they pair overs and girls though Nicole might be out of acts all too soon
Additionally there will also be a new vote for the best performer of the weekend (presumably a side thing on the app), which will incur a prize for the winner.
Matt and the two kids should really be the first two out. Oh and Spencer.
What a terrible set of live finalists. Possibly the worst ever?
Yup, easily the worst
Rak-Su have got to be the most obnoxious things to ever grace reality TV, even worse than Jedward. I just can't.
Think the Filipino lass, Alisha will get it in the girls but I'd prefer Georgina.
I don't think it's the worst lineup by a long mile. Rai-Elle,Holly,Grace,Lloyd, Spencer, Kevin and Matt may not be everyones cup of tea but theyre definitely talented, and there's no obvious novelty act which is good.
Series 10 and 4 were far worse.
There IS going to be a sing off this year, but it's of the TOP 2, and the judges decide who wins a prize... (that's the prize vote I mentioned) Wtf is the point, that kinda gives away who'll win.
Also yeah this isn't quite the absolute worst, the girls catgory is perfect and I like Cutkelvins and I suppose Lloyd, plus the wildcards will likely boost the line-up a bit more. 2007 only really had Alisha and Niki who I liked, then 2013 only really had Hannah, Tamera and I guess Sam. 2012 wasn't great either, I stopped watching after Ella went because the top 5 was HORRENDOUS, but the actual line up of the final wasn't THAT bad, we had her, Lucy, Jade, Melanie, Kye and Carolynne who were quite good, the wrong people just went too early.
Yeah, this series gives me quite 2012 vibes really.
I really want to love these finals as much as I did with last years but I've a feeling I'll hate them. Kinda annoyed at the sing off being axed tbh, I quite liked the tension of the deadlocks.
They're throwing way too much change at this to try and keep things exciting for viewing figures but it's coming across really poorly imo.
It's seeming like a totally different show, I think part of my problem with The Voice and a reason I never enjoy it as much is that they rush through it a bit too much, you get one from each "team" going a week and it kind of ruins the chance for a lot of them to have a proper journey and grow, because we lose 4 a week. I know this is only 2 a week, but with only 6 weeks of live shows it takes away one of my favourite parts, watching them have a journey and grow and emerge as contenders. The reason why Little Mix are my fave contestants ever are because it was so amazing to watch them grow from a seemingly hopeless almost cert for first boot to all but winning it by like week 7, and I felt similarly with Saara's trajectory last year. This sort of series wasn't too bad in 2015 when it was shorter, perhaps selfishly just because I really wanted Louisa to win so I didn't mind it was obvious with her, but this year I feel there is Rai-Elle in particular who could be a Saara/Little Mix but won't get the time to grow and flourish.
Making the sing-off the top 2 is ridiculous too, the sing-off being the elimination was one of the things that set it apart fro Idol in the first place, along with the categories and mentoring, it made for much more exciting eliminations and gave the judges a bit more of a role (they don't always get it right ofc but that's part of the fun).
It's like they've been watching a bit too much All Stars 2, I'm surprised they haven't got the contestants eliminating one another.
Omg they might as well just go the full hog lmao, imagine someone really shit like when Janet, Eoghan or Christopher topped the vote for weeks winning and just ousting the favourites
Oh good lord, 2012 was just diabolical when Ella didn't make the final
I think this seasons "shock exits" (if they were to exit ofc) would be Grace, The Cutkelvin's and Rak-Su, they definitely seem to have quite a buzz on social media.
I am so confused as to how the eliminations work.
I think they are going to manipulate it as much as possible as it is vaguely said.
It can either be the bottom act from each category on the night (i.e bottom group and bottom girl) and also as the bottom act or two overall (so could be two groups). If they did it the first way and the result on the night was 1-4 highest votes girls and 5-8 groups, we could end up losing 4th and 8th place on the night.
And revealing who the top 2 are each night is an interesting choice. I don't think I like it.
As long as the Cutkelvins win I don’t mind
FAR too much photoshop going on with their promo stills. Grace looks completely different, Matt (*.*) also looks too clean cut and Lloyd looks like a totally different person! Need I mention Tracy and Holly?!
So half of the acts are going to perform tomorrow and then the 2nd half are performing on Sunday? and is someone going to be eliminated tomorrow and then again on Sunday?
I have read somewhere that up to 4 acts are getting sent home this weekend, 16 acts and only 6 live show weekends. So could well be one of each going this weekend which makes no sense of bringing wildcards back if that is the case.
So I think its 2 gone Saturday and 2 gone Sunday
Forget where I read it tellymix I think. But we will see when it is confirmed
Tracey looks much better after her makeover, tbh the difference feels negligible for a lot of them and it's more photoshop than actual makeover I agree
Gawwd at Rae Elle gettin through when she is utter shit.
Her embarrassing dance moves and awful screeching make her look like a novelty act. Thought they would kick her out from the first awkward cheesy Cher Lloyd wannabe audition!!!
Christ it's boys and overs tomorrow apparently because of SImon Cowell having a fall and being in hospital I was gonna say oh god the two worst but I think whilst I don't love any of the boys, at least they don't have Sean & Connor price.
If you want easy money, just put money on Tracy Leanne to be the first one eliminated this weekend.
Still can't forgive Nicole for choosing her. If she had chosen Talia over her, Slavko could have had a chance as wildcard.
I also heard on the chart show, there was a news bulletin about it, they are removing the deadlock, I didn't listen to the whole thing, but what happens if its tied.
It's actually boys and girls tomorrow, so they've swapped the shows round due to Simon's accident as he won't be on the show.
Sam Black and Spencer to go tomorrow do we reckon?
I think we're losing one tonight and one tomorrow, I predict Sam and Kevin I think! Spencer (unfortunately) and TracyLeanne are probably next closest to danger.
Unless it's one from each categoelry that goes? In that case, fortunately Ra Elle and Spencer.
Rai-Elle wouldn’t go unless she fluffed the performance! She’s got the likeability and originality to go beyond the first elimination!
I don't think so.
She is really bad.
If it's one from each category, prepare to see her go.
It's difficult to do this considering the lack of concrete information about the format, but here's my rough 1-16 prediction based on the little we know:
01. Grace Davies
02. Rak-su
03. Matt Linnen
04. Holly Tandy
05. The Cutkelvins
06. (Girls wildcard)
07. (Overs wildcard)
08. Sean and Conor Price
09. Lloyd Macey
10. Rai-Elle Williams
11. (Boys wildcard)
12. Spencer Sutherland
13. (Groups wildcard)
14. Tracyleanne Jefford
15. Kevin Davy White
16. Sam Black
Something like that, give or take a couple of positions depending on which categories are actually eligible to be eliminated at certain positions. Definitely, think the whole big Plan A for this series is for Grace to release Roots as her winner's single following by a very quick full studio album with all of her original songs - perhaps even as quickly as mid-December. I think the shorter live shows will allow them to manage to achieve a Louisa Johnson-esque domination.
I love Grace, but I hope she sings a few covers like on YT. The part where the Bellam Bellas sing an original is an absolute MOMENT and a journey. Hopefully Grace can do the same - some covers, then some originals at the end, bigger and better than ever, taking on board the um 'judging' from musical masterminds like Nicole Jealousinger.
Yeah that's what irks me a bit, she does great covers on YT so it's not lie she struggles with it. Original songs are a step in the right direction, because they always go on about "showing what kind of artist you are" and nothing shows that better than original songs. But if she's doing them EVERY week then she's going to come across as nearly as big a one trick pony as Alisah Carey-Houston
TellyMix votes without Wildcards:
Grace Davies 20.41% (296 votes)
The CutKelvins 16.48% (239 votes)
Holly Tandy 14.07% (204 votes)
Sean and Conor Price 10.97% (159 votes)
Rai-Elle Williams 10% (145 votes)
Rak-Su 9.86% (143 votes)
Spencer Sutherland 5.52% (80 votes)
Matt Linnen 3.24% (47 votes)
Sam Black 2.48% (36 votes)
Lloyd Macey 2.41% (35 votes)
TraceyLeanne Jefford 2.34% (34 votes)
Kevin Davy White 2.21% (32 votes)
Total Votes: 1,450
So, Grace is not a clear winner (like almost everyone here thinks) because she wins 'only' 20% of votes in this poll.
Sam and Lloyd will have to find the way to escape the elimination tonight and Kevin & Tracey will fight to stay in the competition tomorrow.
