I really quite like the original film (despite it not living up to its promise) as it asks some interesting questions and it has become something of a cult hit This 2017 version is actually a sequel rather than a remake. Keifer Sutherland will reprise his role from the first film.

Unfortunately the trailer suggest a dodgy Horror rather than a thought provoking Thriller.

We'll see

Was NOT expecting this to turn into a proper horror film in the second half but I was jumping out of my skin in places laugh.gif I was just expecting an ordinary sci-fi/fantasy movie from the trailer but I really appreciated the atmosphere it created in the final act especially. I wasn't prepared for it at all but some of the scenes were so unnerving and eerie (the scene of Ellen Page's death especially) which definitely kept me entertained. I think James Norton was probably the cast highlight of this for me,
aside from being insanely hot
he was very charismatic and the most endearing character in the film for me.

Overall, it wasn't what I was anticipating at all but I enjoyed what I saw and it certainly gave me a few frights so job well done, I guess laugh.gif

Yeah I enjoyed this for what is was, certainly not befitting of the scathing reviews it's received, though I haven't seen the original which could be a factor there.

And it introduced me to Nina Dobrev which I must thank it for.
