That's an unpleasant reflection on your character. mellow.gif

Oh go do one, it's clearly a hyperbolic statement.

Pragmatically, there is no point putting energy into it right now outwith Scotland, but would the UK be better off as an EU member state? Absolutely, even after accounting for an exhausting domestic and international debate around the rejoining process.

I'd say that apart from around 10% of the most passionate #FBFE type people (Lib Dems, basically), most remain voters will settle into the post-leave consensus, at least for a year until we see the indisputable evidence of what Brexit does for the UK. After that, I can see Rejoin gaining momentum, providing that the EU doesn't change substantially during the period that the UK is outside of it (which I would not completely discount happening).

Based on the fact that the majority of the younger generation voted against it (based on voting analysis) I’d expect to see something happen in 10 or so years

You're making the assumption that post-Brexit Britain, after say a year, will be worse then inside the EU.

It's not a baseless assumption if it's based on analysis.

Any more than it would be if I assumed I might get wet if I went out in t shirts and a short to a day with dark clouds threatening. It's not raining now, but all the evidence points to it coming soon, based on past observation.

I'd rather we didn't introduce the next wave of pejorative nicknames just yet.

I'm perfectly willing to accept the result, history has shown things need to reach rock bottom before they can get better and I'm sure something similar will happen here and the current government will be blamed in which case, the campaign for change can happen.
