Former Walsall manager Jan Sorensen has died at the age of 68.
The ex-Denmark striker, who scored three times in 11 games for his country, spent a season in charge at Bescot in 1997-98. After succeeding Chris Nicholl as boss, Sorensen's Saddlers side won 14 of their 46 Second Division games in the English third tier to finish 19th. Sorensen was then succeeded by Ray Graydon, who led Walsall to promotion to the second tier a season later. The highlight of the Dane's playing career was being part of the Club Bruges side beaten 1-0 by Liverpool at Wembley in the 1978 European Cup final. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68346697 |

Former Nottingham Forest and Liverpool defender Larry Lloyd has died aged 75.
Lloyd was part of Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest side that won the First Division in 1977-78 before going on to claim back-to-back European Cups. The former England international also won the 1972-73 First Division at Liverpool, along with the Uefa Cup in the same season. "We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Larry Lloyd," Nottingham Forest said. Former Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick has died at the age of 84.
A lifelong supporter of the club, he joined the board in 2005 and accepted the role of chairman in 2013 when Peter Hill-Wood stepped down. Keswick, who made his name in the banking industry and was a director of the Bank of England, spent seven years as club chairman. "Sir Chips will be greatly missed by everyone at Arsenal who knew him," Arsenal said in a statement. |

Former Wales and British and Irish Lions prop John O'Shea has died in Australia at the age of 83 after a lengthy illness.
Capped five times from 1967-1968, O'Shea made his international debut for his country against Scotland at Murrayfield in February 1967. O'Shea was selected for the 1968 Lions tour to South Africa, where he became the first Lion to be sent off for foul play in a game after punching an Eastern Transvaal player. He always claimed he had been retaliating after the opponent had targeted Lions scrum-half Roger Young, while there was an infamous melee as he walked off the pitch after a spectator then struck the departing prop. |
