Wait, this is stunning!

I don't think it fits with the overall vibe of the album like the original artwork does but what a cute pic. heart.gif

I just bought this for £1 on eBay! The original album not the vinyl.

I realised I have all her albums either on CD Or download except this and Britney Jean but I just can’t buy Britney Jean as the few listens I gave it in 2013 were enough laugh.gif I try not to count it as part of her discography

But completing my collection by getting this. It’s still a great pop album tbh. Early Britney was always my favourite tbh.

Another delay for the B Side/Remixes vinyl, unfortunately! cry.gif Record Store Day has been postponed again (originally April 18th, then pushed back to June 20th but now that date isn't happening either). Three different dates are scheduled: August 29th, September 26th or October 24th, and we don't know which date Britney's will be released yet.

16th May - today is the 20th anniversary of the release of Britney's second album 'Oops!... I Did It Again'! ohmy.gif cheer.gif

Following the 2019 releases of the purple/white swirl vinyl (the album's first ever pressing on album) and the clear vinyl, we now have two new vinyl versions and a cassette forthcoming, all out on 14th August 2020:

Urban Outfitters: Clear Vinyl with Purple/Gold Splatter

Available exclusively at Urban Outfitters in a special 20th anniversary edition, the seminal Britney Spears album Oops!...I Did It Again, pressed to clear vinyl with purple and gold splatter. The second studio album from Spears was an instant pop sensation with the mega-hits we’re still singing, including the title track, “Lucky” and “Stronger.” 2000, Jive.

Urban Outfitters: Purple Cassette

Available exclusively at Urban Outfitters, the seminal Britney Spears album Oops!...I Did It Again, on 3000 limited units of purple shell cassette tape with gold ink. The second studio album from Spears was an instant pop sensation with the mega-hits we’re still singing, including the title track, “Lucky” and “Stronger.” 2000, Jive.

Official Store

The Britney Spears Oops! I Did It Again 20th Anniversary Edition Picture Disc features all 12 original hits, including “Oops!...I Did It Again,” “Stronger,” and “Lucky.”
(It seems that this version will be sold on Amazon too)

I have the purple/white swirl version of the vinyl from last year. That mock up for the purple/gold splatter version looks great... but I really have to draw the line somewhere, I can't afford to buy different versions! laugh.gif I feel like I can't allow myself to go down the road of trying to collect all her albums on cassette either tearsmile.gif

By the way, the Oops! B Side/Remixes Vinyl is now scheduled for release on September 26th.

Wow! I am also the proud owner of the purple/white swirl vinyl and that was pricey enough, so also can't justify these laugh.gif the only new releases I'd be interested in from Urban Outfitters now would be the 'My Prerogative' greatest hits (or the updated one, or both laugh.gif) and the new Glory cover wub.gif

Hah I'm loving this, so good! biggrin.gif

Can't believe I lived to see NASA tweet a Britney lyric, such an iconic song wub.gif

It's great to see so many tweets celebrating the album, MTV, Pop Crave, VH1, People, E News, Billboard, VEVO, Vogue, The Independent, etc

I'll leave this twitter thread from VEVO cause it has some great facts and curiosities about the Oops era, including what happened to the guy from the video, check up on it!

voguemagazine
It has now been 20 years since pop princess @BritneySpears released her second studio album, “Oops!… I Did It Again.” On that famed record, the queen of the 2000s churned out some of her biggest hits, such as “Stronger” and “Lucky.” But it’s her lead single, “Oops,” that’s lodged most firmly in our memory, and not just for its earworm-y chorus. The track’s space-age music video is downright iconic. When you think Britney, you think of that red latex jumpsuit. And in honor of the album’s anniversary, we spoke with the video’s stylist to reminisce about that now-famous Oops! costume. Tap the link in our bio for all the stories you've never heard about how the head-to-toe latex look came to be.

10 Official Chart facts about Britney’s Oops!... I Did It Again album on its 20th anniversary

QUOTE
1. Oops!...I Did It Again entered the Official UK Albums Chart at Number 2 in May 2000. It was the second of five Britney albums that have peaked in the runner-up slot to date.

2. Oops! lost out on the Number 1 spot that week to Whitney Houston’s Greatest Hits, also a new entry that week. View the Official Albums Chart from that week here.

3. It was a seriously close race to Number 1 that week: Whitney’s album sold 89,364, while Britney’s shifted 88,145.

4. The album’s biggest song is its title track and lead single, with 737,000 UK chart sales. The single debuted at Number 1 with first week sales of 124,000, earning Britney her third UK chart-topper. View Britney's full Official UK Chart history here.

5. Oops! is the album’s most-streamed song, with 28.1 million plays, and best-selling song (downloads and CD sales), with 492,000 copies sold.

6. The collection's most popular album track is What U See (Is What U Get). The least popular is bonus track You Got It All, a cover of The Jets' 1986 single that Britney recorded as a demo in 1997 that helped her get signed to Jive Records.

7. The album in order of most popular to least popular song, based on chart sales:

POS TITLE ARTIST
1 OOPS I DID IT AGAIN BRITNEY SPEARS
2 LUCKY BRITNEY SPEARS
3 STRONGER BRITNEY SPEARS
4 DON'T LET ME BE THE LAST TO KNOW BRITNEY SPEARS
5 WHAT U SEE (IS WHAT U GET) BRITNEY SPEARS
6 DON'T GO KNOCKIN' ON MY DOOR BRITNEY SPEARS
7 (I CANT GET NO) SATISFACTION BRITNEY SPEARS
8 CAN'T MAKE YOU LOVE ME BRITNEY SPEARS
9 ONE KISS FROM YOU BRITNEY SPEARS
10 DEAR DIARY BRITNEY SPEARS
11 WHERE ARE YOU NOW BRITNEY SPEARS
12 WHEN YOUR EYES SAY IT BRITNEY SPEARS
13 GIRL IN THE MIRROR BRITNEY SPEARS
14 YOU GOT IT ALL BRITNEY SPEARS

8. Oops’ second single, Lucky, peaked at Number 5 in August 2000. It was released the same week as the famous chart battle between Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Victoria Beckham, with Sophie (okay, Spiller)’s Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love) coming out on top. See the full Top 100 from that week here.

9. The album’s third single Stronger topped out at Number 7 on the Official Singles Chart. Again, it was released during a competitive week, with Eminem’s Stan and Bob The Builder’s Can We Fix It battling for Number 1 (!). View the full Top 100 from that week here.

10. The fourth and final Oops! single Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know didn’t fair quite so well, peaking at Number 12 in April 2001 – though hardly disastrous for a fourth single from an album, right? See what else was in the chart that week here.

What U See Is What U Get being the top album track feels so right. It stood out to me a LOT amongst the non singles.

Stronger feels much bigger than Lucky though!
