I have made an entire top 200 to celebrate this lovely decade. Of course the 00's don't match up to the 90's. But let us take trips down memory lane.

200: Kelly Rowland - Train on a Track (Simply Deep)
199: Norah Jones - Come Away With Me (Come Away With Me)
198: Melanie C - On The Horizon (Reason)
197: Embrace - Nature's Law (This New Day)
196: Amy Winehouse - F*ck Me Pumps (Frank)
195: Liberty X- Holding On For You (Thinking It Over)
194: Cheryl Cole - Fight for this Love (3 Words)
193: Britney Spears - Lucky (Oops!... I Did It Again)
192: Geri Halliwell - Bag It Up (Scizophonic)
191: No Doubt - Running (Rock Steady)
190: Kylie Minogue - Your Disco Needs You (Light Years)
189: Kelly Clarkson - Already Gone (All I Ever Wanted)
188: Miley Cyrus - See You Again (Rock Mafia Remix) [Breakout]
187: Nelly Furtado - Powerless (Say What You Want) [Folklore]
186: Goldfrapp - Strict Machine
185: Steps - Stomp (Buzz)
184: P!nk - Please Don't Leave Me (Funhouse)
183: Sugababes - Shape (Angels With Dirty Faces)
182: Madonna - Miles Away (Hard Candy)
181: Christina Aguilera - I Turn To You (Christina Aguilera)

180: Emma Bunton - Downtown (Life In Mono)
179: Oasis - Stop Crying Your Heart Out (Heathen Chemistry)
178: Red Hot Chili Peppers - By The Way (By The Way)
177: Madonna - American Life (American Life)
176: The Ting Tings - Be The One (We Started Nothing)
175: Destiny's Child - Lose My Breath (Destiny Fulfilled)
174: Beyoncé - Sweet Dreams (I Am... Sasha Fierce)
173: Girls Aloud - Life Got Cold (Sound of The Underground)
172: Rogue Traders - Watching You (Here Come The Drums)
171: Eric Prydz - Call On Me (Featured on Now 59)
170: Beyoncé - Green Light (B'Day)
169: Ciara feat. Justin Timberlake - Love Sex Magic (Fantasy Ride)
168: Jennifer Lopez - My Love Don't Cost A Thing (J. Lo)
167: A1 - Caught In The Middle (a1: Greatest Hits)
166: P!nk - Trouble (Try This)
165: Calvin Harris - Ready for the Weekend (Ready for the Weekend)
164: Kelly Clarkson - I Do Not Hook Up (All I Ever Wanted)
163: Lily Allen - Not Fair (It's Not Me, It's You)
162: David Guetta feat. Kelly Rowland - When Love Takes Over (One Love)
161: Freemasons feat. Sophie-Elis Bextor - Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer) [featured on Now 73]

200: Kelly Rowland - Train on a Track (Simply Deep)

Oh, she had so much potential. "Train on a Track" was Kelly's 3rd single from her debut album, peaking at number 20 I think it never got the respect it deserved

199: Norah Jones - Come Away With Me (Come Away With Me)

I have loved Norah Jones since she started her career back in 2002. Peaking at number 80 in the singles chart, it is clear that UK wasn't ready for the blues/jazz in the charts

198: Melanie C - On The Horizon (Reason)

After the epic release of "Northern Star" I never thought Melanie C could trump her solo effort. Enter "Reason" and "On The Horizon", which I discovered on Now That's What I Call Music! 55. It just shows that Melanie C did have the talent that would apparently seemed wasted when in the Spice Girls

197: Embrace - Nature's Law (This New Day)

Again discovered on a NOW CD. Embrace had massive success with "Nature's Law" which peaked at number 2 in 2006, being beaten because of a malfunction with download sales. Cheers iTunes sleep.gif

196: Amy Winehouse - F*ck Me Pumps (Frank)

Everyone now knows "Frank", the debut album from Winehouse. But I knew it before the Back To Black era, thanks to Jonathan Ross way back in 2004 (I think). "F*ck Me Pumps" was a massive flop for the sober Amy when it peaked at number 65 in 2003.

OK guys that's it for now. If you'd like to learn more about the Top 200, please check my brand new blog, nothing exciting or fancy, just a music blog (inspired by goodelta).

Here are the next 5 in the lovely countdown. We are now heading in forgotten pop bands, essential Britney and we see the first song from 2009!

195: Liberty X- Holding On For You (Thinking It Over)
194: Cheryl Cole - Fight for this Love (3 Words) Video Link
193: Britney Spears - Lucky (Oops!... I Did It Again) Video Link
192: Geri Halliwell - Bag It Up (Scizophonic) Video Link
191: No Doubt - Running (Rock Steady) Video Link

Liberty X - Holding On For You

We've defiantly entered pop central with this batch of 00's goodness. In 2003 Liberty X witnessed their first of many flop pop anthems. "Holding On For You" is a beautiful and emotional ballad, which is miles better "Just A Little Bit" and even "Got To Have Your Love". I miss them. Then we have the 2nd fastest selling single of this year, Cheryl Cole! This is no where near as good as any Girls Aloud song, but her first solo attempt is miles better than I expected. "Lucky" comes next from "teen pop sensation" Britney Spears. A while back this used to be my favorite single from Oops... I Did It Again, but I eventually grew tiered of it's soppy story, it wasn't until Spears' well known break-down that I fell in love with this song again. And finishing up at 191 is "Running" from No Doubt. The last song to be played on my favorite kids TV show Sabrina The Teenage Which. It was a beautiful ending when Harvey took Sabrina of on his super cool motorbike cry.gif laugh.gif

190: Kylie Minogue - Your Disco Needs You (Light Years)
189: Kelly Clarkson - Already Gone (All I Ever Wanted) Video Link
188: Miley Cyrus - See You Again (Rock Mafia Remix) [Breakout] Video Link
187: Nelly Furtado - Powerless (Say What You Want) [Folklore] Video Link
186: Goldfrapp - Strict Machine Video Link

Kylie Minogue - Your Disco Needs You

And so we're slowly making our way to the top 100, and it seems we've gone into "the gay teenage iPod" area. Kicking things off with the camp classic "Your Disco Needs You" which was co-written from Robbie-UFO Watching-Williams and even does backing vocals on this song, mainly just saying the world "ass". "Halo" follows next "Already Gone" which flopped badly for Clarkson this year seemed to have everything that a Kelly ballad needed, peaking somewhere in the top 75 it followed number one smash "My Life" and "I Do Not Hook Up". Miley makes only 2 appearances in this chart so please do not judge me! "See You Again" gave Miley her first 'non-disney' hit in '08. More flopage comes our way from Furtado with "Powerless", a fantastic feel good piece of pop which somehow didn't have the same effect that "I'm Like A Bird" once had, but then I guess you can't make naughty lyrics with "Powerless" kink.gif. And then we finish up with Alison and her electro pop goody bag containing "Strict Machine" from their 2nd album "Black Cherry" released in 2003, it's still one of my all time favorite Electo-frapp track records, but doesn't been some of their more relaxed, folky music.

185: Steps - Stomp (Buzz) Video Link
184: P!nk - Please Don't Leave Me (Funhouse) Video Link
183: Sugababes - Shape (Angels With Dirty Faces) Video Link
182: Madonna - Miles Away (Hard Candy) Video Link
181: Christina Aguilera - I Turn To You (Christina Aguilera)

Christina Aguilera - I Turn To You

At 185 it's Steps, "Stomp" which was one of only a few UK number one singles for them, it peaked in November and then started to fall quickly along with Steps' fanbase, you can find this song on "Now 47" on disc 2 if anyone is to embarrassed to dig out their old albums. Keeping with the NOW theme if you check NOW 73 you'll find P!nk's 3rd single from "Funhouse", a fantastic catchy pop song which is miles better than "So What" and deserved to reach the number one top spot, but it did pretty well considering it was the 3rd single. And again found on another NOW CD, the Sugababes (with Mutya and Keisha) come next with Sting-influenced "Shape" taken from their most successful album "Angels With Dirty Faces", it just missed out the top 10 and peaked at eleven again another great accomplishment when they released 4 songs from the album before this one. And now it's time for Madonna's lowest peaking single of the 21st century cry.gif "Miles Away" which was one of 5 decent songs from Madonna's "Hard Candy" failed miserably after no music video was aired and no promotion was carried out due to the tour, adoption of a baby and the 2nd divorce, but still you could've done something Madge. And finally a single from a 1999 album (pure madness I know). "I Turn To You" was Christina's 4th single from her squeaky clean pop album "Christina Aguilera", it peaked inside the top 20 in July and was Christina's second ballad released from the album (after "Reflection").
