Finally announced the title and release date of his debut album. Most certainly one of my most anticipated releases of the year, everything we have heard from him has just been superb. Can pre-order now!

First instant grat from the album already available, the lovely 'Perfect Ruin':

Very excited! Although it looks like 'Pray for Love' sadly won't feature sad.gif

Yeah it looks as though 'Walk', 'Perfect Ruin' and 'Wrong Or Right' are the only songs featuring we have already heard.

Hold me. cry.gif

(The 'Perfect Ruin' song+video combo is breathtaking. 'Wrong Or Right' and 'Walk' are the cream of the crop so I'm glad they'll feature, though 'Pray For Love' is also very strong. The cover's crap but that's not important. Excitement at fever pitch.)

Excited for this! Think he will really deliver (or it'll all be samey and MOR but hopefully the former).

'Perfect Ruin' is very nice <3

Is 'Perfect Ruin' slaying anyone else's life right now or is it just me????? cry.gif

Also, here's a suitably swaggy cover of 'Bloodstream' ft. Stormzy in the Live Lounge:

Gah, the album has been pushed back to September sad.gif. An understandable move after the single did precisely nothing, but still disappointing. 'Perfect Ruin' is a truly stunning track when it's given time but I did think its subtlety meant it mightn't be suitable as a lead single. Really hoping he comes up with something appropriate to get the attention he deserves and most importantly that the album does eventually see the light of day. :/

Can't say I was expecting something this ~funky~ or disco-tinged from him laugh.gif. Not exactly sure what to make of it yet. His voice sounds as outstanding as ever and the chorus is a definite earworm but it doesn't really sound like a hit to me (something I wouldn't usually care much about but he needs one desperately). Regardless, it's great to hear another uptempo and I'll probably be obsessed with it this time next week. happy.gif

Album is coming next week so get excited! :cheeseblock:

Old school ballad 'Cheating On Me' is scheduled as the new single:

Also, the reworked version of 'Layback' was premiered today. Apparently it was one of the first tracks he ever wrote and is delighted it made the album~

Two other songs; 'Look Over Your Shoulder' and 'Forgiven', also surfaced recently:

Album's shaping up to be even more awesome than I'd thought <3! 'Look Over Your Shoulder' is particularly special - I'm thinking it could challenge as my favourite track of his with a bit more time. ohmy.gif

Leaked earlier this evening.

Really is a lovely lovely album and of course his voice sounds incredible throughout. One or two too many balladry songs towards the end of the record but overall, it was what I wanted from him.

Looking forward to listening to the album even though a couple of recent tracks didn't wow me sad.gif

I don't know what to think about this album. It's okay and I love his vocals and delivery but production is lacking. Not enough memorable melodies.

Pretty beautiful album <3 Not properly wowing me, but i don't think that's the aim of it.

'Father Figure' is a bit of a tear-jerker cry.gif

After a few listens, the album isn't quite doing it for me (frustratingly) sad.gif. I think it's because the whole thing is still a little jarring, having heard (and in most cases been very familiar with) the majority of tracks, so hearing them interspersed with new ones takes a fair bit of adjustment. I hope I'll get past that soon because it's clearly a hugely passionate and all-round impressive record, full of varied influences and production, underpinned by his distinctly captivating vocals. It's just very evident throughout that the album was a real labour of love for him, and sounds all the better for it. Of the songs I hadn't heard, nothing touches the catchiness of 'Walk' or the emotional impact of 'Perfect Ruin', but they're all solid and more than deserving of their places. The title track is probably my favourite of them, working wonderfully as a bold, statement opener. 'My Own' is also very strong - probably the most conventional R&B track he's ever done and it suits him perfectly. <3

Really hope the album keeps its top 20 position by Friday, though top 30 is probably more realistic. He's on Jools Holland tonight which'll help matters anyway. biggrin.gif

I'm loving this after a few listens!
'Father Figure' is what it's all about for me right now.

Can't get over that voice.
