Not a massive Madonna fan so would have preferred a Kylie win but oh well. Thanks for all the hard work you've put into hosting this Gezza!

No one can touch Madonna tbh! I mean Kylie comes close but Madonna did it all before her and on a much bigger scale. I feel a bit sorry for Cher though her impact is quite underrated considering how long her career has been and the hits that have come over such a long period. Cher is to Madonna what Madonna is to Kylie tbh.

I don’t know if this is a popular opinion but Kylies a bit nice if that makes sense. Like she isn’t greatly offensive and her music is quite universal. I don’t think she has as many people who’d dislike her as what will Madonna but Madonna is just on an extra level. She’s Polarising and innovative and has had so much versatility throughout her career I just see why she’s seen as the queen there’s nobody who’s had as much successful reinvention like her.

Not sure for a male solo artist one that Michael Jackson would win now.

Again thanks for the hard work in this, Gezza.

I'd like to think he'd win on musical merit but yeah I agree I'm not sure enough people would vote for him following all the scandal. Though he'd be my 30 pointer for sure!

Shawn Mendes would deffo not make my top 30!

If anyone other than Madonna won then it would be a reductive poll.
She's the highest selling female artist of all time for good reason. She's not just a popstar. She's a bona fide artist.
She's continuously pushed envelopes and opened up much needed conversations her entire career and ran circles around her competition to the backdrop of an incredible pop soundscape.
If you can't recognise her for an ability to craft an amazing pop song then you simply have decided you don't like her as a person and you're view will never be changed. These are also the type of people that say she hasn't released anything good in over a decade.
Sure she's had some dud's here and there (still nothing worse than most other popstars release, she's just held to a much higher standard) but there were some real high's on albums like Rebel Heart & Madame X and she's just simply not given credit where credit is due for them as it seems to be deemed cool nowadays to 'hate' Madonna.
At the end of the day, say what you want about her but she is still the greatest female artist of all time and she has the back catalogue and the sales to back that up so stay pressed I guess?!

I agree that it’s seen as cool to dislike Madonna. So many people who don’t like her though stan videos and songs from artists what are literally things Madonna done decades ago.

She’s not the warmest of people but I’ve watched many interviews, tv shows and her films and she’s a fascinating woman who’s really like switched on and clues up. She’s intelligent like very intelligent and also focused and she just knows what she wants and almost everything she does is like what she’s feeling or from an experience of hers like she’s no puppet. I highly recommend anyone to listen to Madame X if you think she’s past it! She still has it. The main let down of hers the last decade has been single choices rather than bad material. In her hey day her single choices were fantastic and pretty much spot on too.
