Body Language and Kiss Me Once are 2 albums that appear to have divided Kylie fans.
Reading opinions suggest that fans wanted more from both these albums.
Which album do you prefer?

I voted for Body Language both Slow and Chocolate are hugely enjoyable.
With Kiss Me Once i really enjoy Into The Blue and Les Sex.
Overall both albums house 2 songs i enjoy but i don't revisit any other songs from the albums.

At least Body Language has this Bridgette Bardot inspiration to the album, whereas KMO is just directionless.

I'm torn because Body Language had a cohesive visual campaign, KMO had nothing

Musically Body Language did have Slow and Loving Days but that's pretty much it.

So if we are basing it on the best album I would have to go with KMO.

I'd say Body Language is easily the better album.

Voted for 'Body Language' of course, as it's far more interesting and has a sense of direction to it. While I wouldn't rank this or 'KMO' as one of my faves, 'BL' is far better and takes far more risks (even if they don't all pay off). The first half of the album is really good, but unfortunately it loses steam after 'Chocolate' and doesn't fully recover. On the whole it's a fairly decent body of work.

BEST TRACKS =
Slow
Secret (Take You Home)
Still Standing
Red Blooded Woman
Promises

LEAST FAVES =
Someday
I Feel For You
Obsession

'KMO' on the other hand is probably her worst studio album (apart from the X-Mas album), and doesn't seem to have a direction or theme. There's 3 tracks with the word Sex in them (Why) and seems to jut reek of desperation, personally I put the blame on Roc Nation and their awful decisions regarding this album and it's single choices. While there are some good moments on this, they are jus few and far between. Just very BLAND on the whole. (thankfully she's recovered with 'Golden').

BEST TRACKS =
Into The Blue
Les Sex
Sleeping With The Enemy
If Only
Kiss Me Once

LEAST FAVES =
Beautiful
Sexercise
I Was Gonna Cancel

Chocolate is great and very under rated but I agree there was a theme in BL which kiss me once fell down on,I also hate the cover of kiss me once.

Without a doubt, body language. It’s more cohesive and there’s much more to like!

The one positive I can say about kiss me once was they picked the right lead single nothing else in the album comes close to into the blue.

Body Language is in such a different league. One album shows that Kylie is keen to keep developing her sound and take risks and has a sense of direction whilst the other album comes across kinda bored at times with a sense of throw whatever we've got out there just to make another album. Not to say there aren't good tracks on Kiss Me Once, but even some of the tracks I do like I can admit suffer from being unimaginative.

Body Language has a similar sound running through the it and it has a feeling that it was planned and had a strong direction.
Kiss Me Once feels the very opposite.

With body language I often wondered why they never went with a 4th single as it could gave done something or maybe they didn't want to break her run of top 10 hits as she had 11 in a row when chocolate made number 6.

I'm pretty sure by the summer of 2004 planning for Ultimate Kylie must have been underway, she would have at least recorded 'I Believe In You' at that point with plans to release it that year.

I sometimes forget that Body Language only had a 3 single release.
A fourth could have been squeezed in buu i believe they knew interest had waned in the album and people want a different sound from Kylie.
I Believe In You was a refreshing release to follow as was Giving You Up.
An album with the sound direction of those 2 songs would have connected better than the Body Language sound overall and likely an album of such material would have sold better than Body Language.
It is my belief that I Believe In You would have been a more natural sound to follow on from Fever.

I feel like Ultimate Kylie was the record company's way of compensating for the underperformance of Body Language. A sure-fire way to get the public and fans alike back on board: you've got a pretty definitive collection of Kylie's songs up to that point and promoted with lots of performances of various past hits. Fans can reminisce and the public can make (re)discoveries, but both being able to embrace that pop music that Kylie did so well.

Often wondered what a studio album in place of Ultimate Kylie would be like. The likes of 'BPM', 'Loving You' and 'Made of Glass' feel quirkier than Fever, which I think is what Body Language was trying to do, but keeps that pop feel to it. Good precursors to the X sound.
