Apologies if there is a thread but I couldn't find one in the search.
I am looking forward to this film, especially now that it has just been announced Phil Coulson will be featuring in the film QUOTE Captain Marvel is going to give us a wibbly wobbly timey wimey reunion for the MCU's two favourite SHIELD agents.
Marvel Studios has unveiled some brand new details about the incredible cast of Captain Marvel, as well the first-look at Brie Larson's extensive flight training with the US Air Force. Production has begun on Marvel Studios' #CaptainMarvel. @BrieLarson receives instructions from Brigadier General Jeannie Leavitt, 57th Wing Commander, on a recent visit to Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada to research her character. A synopsis is also out: "Based on the Marvel comic character first appearing in 1968, the story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. "Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe." Marvel Studios' full casting breakdown is full of nods to the MCU's past, including the major announcement that Clark Gregg will be returning to the films as SHIELD Agent Coulson. Agent Coulson has spent the last several years of the current MCU timeline operating in secret on Agents of SHIELD, after the Avengers watched him be murdered in cold blood at the hands of Loki during the Battle of New York. The man who brought Coulson back to life was Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), who also features prominently in Captain Marvel. However, since Captain Marvel is set in the '90s, the film will likely portray Coulson and Fury before the events of Iron Man. Captain Marvel's official cast list additionally includes two former MCU villains in Lee Pace and Djimon Hounsou, who played Kree warriors Ronan the Accuser and Korath the Pursuer in Guardians of the Galaxy. Their presence nods to the endless intergalactic war, mentioned in the synopsis, between the Kree and the shape-shifting Skrull species. Carol Danvers is half-human half-Kree, but is very much an enemy of both sides. Newly-announced cast members include Algenis Perez Soto (Sugar), Rune Temte (Eddie the Eagle) and McKenna Grace. Previously-announced were Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Lashana Lynch and Ben Mendelsohn. Captain Marvel hits cinemas on March 8, 2019 in the UK and the US. http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/captain-m...-to-mcu-movies/ |

My excitement for this has gone through the roof with the news Coulson is coming back.
Agents Of Shield may be my favourite show on TV at the moment. So underrated. |

I can't wait for this. I just read Civil War II and I was totally on Carol's side! I am looking forward to seeing her in the movies after reading several of her stories in the comics.

Saw this on Monday and it's really fun and a strong introduction to a new hero. Can't wait to see her in Endgame.

It suffers from what pretty much every origin story suffers from and that's a really slow build. But it really gets going about 40 mins in to the film! The magic that Brie has with EVERY cast member is crazy. She plays the character in such a grounded way but still has strong quirks about her.
Bring on Endgame!! |

6/10. I got all nostalgic for the 90's - the music soundtrack is fab - and it was weird seeing Coulson & Fury all CGI'd 25 years younger in the face, but not the bods. The cast was fine, the FX as you'd expect, but it came over as a bit of a mish-mash of Guardians Of The Galaxy (minus the strong humour), a slice of Agents of SHIELD (but minus the compelling ongoing storylines) and a straight Earth-based superhero film, so it didn't quite gel for me.
The cat is a star. Or "Blindy" as I will now refer to him.... |

Saw this last night and really enjoyed it. Thought all of the cast were very good, though felt that the script suffered in places. As a 90s kid, I have to say that the soundtrack was awesome
Loved the end credits scene (the first one in particular) - it's got me even more hyped for Endgame now. |
