As someone who has never seen a Rocky film, I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected. The boxing larts were the weakest for me because I don't like the sport but even the last fight for me was quite thrilling. Three excellent leads, especially Tessa Thompson who has just zoomed onto my radar anyway. Glad to see Stallone getting a few Oscar predictions too because he's very good in this and a lot more emotional than I'd have expected too!

Tessa Thompson is amazing, I saw her in a film last year Dr White People, and she was great. Also loved her in Veronica Mars.

A stronger film than Southpaw and it made me look at boxing in a slightly better light whereas that one just had me detesting the sport. But I can never keep a straight face with a Scouse accent, he might as well have been preparing to fight Chris Maloney kink.gif

It was engaging from the start, Michael, Sylvester and Tessa were all great, never really a dull moment..a very solid movie overall even if it's not one I'd buy on DVD and re-watch.

Really enjoyed this, love the similarities between the other entries in the franchise and found this an enjoyable and inspirational movie. The script was good and I like how the movie moved along well and kept me interested. The cast were fantastic, Michael B Jordan was great in the lead role and really brought life to his character, Stallone was fantastic and was a great mentor in this movie but I did think his cancer was going to be a way bigger part of the movie than it was and Tessa Thompson was also fantastic as Creed's girlfriend and I loved her in this, shame I can't find space for her in my nominations for the Buzzjack Movie Awards sad.gif Great film lead by 3 fantastic performances and of course a cracking soundtrack heart.gif

"Creed" is a sports drama that was projected in the cinemas of my country one year ago. "Creed" got good reviews worldwide and Sylvester Stalone was praised for his performance. To be honest, I never understood the reason for the existence of this sport and I think that I will never get a reasonable answer. To crash down on someone, punching without any reason, to become the winner, only "Neaterdal era" could be. However, what causes me the most impression is the influence that boxing has, even in our modern technological age. Has anyone stayed behind? However, all of this relates to my personal opinion about the sport. Nevertheless, let's go on with the movie.
The central character of the story is Adonis Creed, the illegitimate son of legendary boxer Apollo. However, Adonis never met him and from an early age, he made a "tour" in the reformatories of the area that he grew up in. Apollo's widow, Mary Anne Creed, was the only one who was interested in him and took him to her lavish home. When Creed grows up, he starts a normal life, with school and working, but very quickly he will realize that he is born boxer. He will abandon L.A and his comfortable life and he will go to Philadelphia to be trained by the almighty -and friend of his father- Rocky Balboa. The latter brings many objections since he has abstained from the sport for a long time, but along the way he will undertake to coach him and he will stand on his side as a second father. If it is not heartbreaking, what is it? "Creed" was one of the pleasant surprises from 2015. The director Ryan Coogler has done an amazing job in the visual part of the film and he wrote the screenplay along with Aaron Covington. Michael B. Jordan convinced absolutely in the lead role but the one who steals the show is Sylvester Stalone. His interpretation was incredibly moving and he gave further impetus to the role that introduced him to the movie industry. I think he was the biggest deprived of this year's Oscars after losing the Golden Statuette by the indifferent interpretation of Mark Rylance. Were they drunk? Seriously! At least, his interpretation of Stalone was appreciated by the Golden Globes Awards and the National Board of Review. Moreover, the film had elaborate boxing scenes, excellent cinematography and powerful soundtrack. It is one of the few Hollywood productions in recent years that I did not find a single flaw.
"Creed" is definitely one of the best sports movies I've ever seen on the big screen (The best /my favorite is the ground-breaking"Million Dollar Baby"). It is pleasantly seen at the cinema and the story touches viewers, even if they are not fans of this sport. "Creed" attracted a respect portion of audience to cinemas and its total revenue, 173.6 million dollars, far exceeded the budget, which was 40 million dollars. The current "Rocky" fans, the 30-somethings, 40-somethings and 50-somethings will definitely love it. "Creed" is a remarkable film that deservedly represents the "good face" of Hollywood. Yes, because there is the burnt too tongue.gif

PS +++++ For the sexy actress sexy Tessa Thompson who plays the love interest of the protagonist.
