it's been a while. i know i shouldn't have kept you waiting.
but i'm here now.

hello. the results have been collated. every contestant (but one: as such dame shirley clamp would like to announce that she 'doesn't know' mezidinia, and neither will the bjsc next month.) has voted. the results will be presented in pretty format at some point this evening (the original beginning time of 7pm will not be met due to an executive meeting which has come up at the last meeting for semi-important matters), so spe~cul~ate*

*who has claimed victory
*who will win the 'st joliver memorial award' for most contrary votes

I think the intonation was that it will be later.
As for the conformation opening, that's rather down to the host, but we'd like to keep it roughly on schedule for The Best Of BJSC XXXI-XL and the return of the BJSC Awards early next year

The dates aren't fixed yet, but we tend to try and have no more than 10 contests a year and since the idea of spin-offs seems to be as popular as a tumescent Cocozza the Best Of may well start in December. The format didn't really work last time (I think we tinkered with it too much) but basically you vote for the songs you like most from each contest and then they go into a big final (not an OBF though) and face off against each other to see who is the ultimate Queen of BJSC.

So the Best of.. contest is practically all the songs entered this year's contest? It's going to be hard then as I only joined mid year and have to catch up with a couple of contest's songs

Halfway through XXXV (with only XXXIV, XXXI, and XXXII to go, I've already got XXXIII; the mp3 packs back there were still working 
). I want to give everything a chance, and it's just discoveries, so I like doing it.Also, those awards look v. interesting. I always like awards.

The awards look quite good, assuming there would be similar categories again.
As for this months contest I'm expecting to see a similar result to Lovers Electric (19th) but would be pleasantly surprised with anything more. My main mission is still to break the 100 point barrier, it'll happen one day.

If I remember correctly, there's a 'Most Inspired' category - and given that J-Pop / K-Pop was feared to be entered for flopping (mostly) before, I'd say you stand a good chance of a nom for that..

Scandipop posted a pic of her on the Ask Embla article on their website for some unknown reason, I think because Ina Wroldsen, the singer of the band, penned a track for Natalie once, but I think it was a mistake on their part - I was going to ask them to correct it at the time but I never got round to it

Hmm... I guess it's true... Norwegian artists get well known everywhere else then Norway first.. On the news on saturday they usally have a report from a Norwegian, and they were interviewing Rebekka Karijord. She have had alot of her songs in commercials and American Tv series like Grey's Anatomy and stuff
No one really know who she is in Norway, but she is famous in Sweden

'Geronimo' has been the song I've listened to the most over the last 7 days. Oddly enough the first time I checked out Aura Dione's song was a few weeks back when it first charted in Denmark and my opinion was pretty much on the fence. It's continued growing on me since then.

)i dunno what to enter next time though. this was supposed to be kind of a ONE OFF thing (and i originally was going to enter "Satellites" by Catcall). but i dunno i think taking BJSC less seriously makes it more manageable to enter for me

Tyron, would you be able to upload the spreadsheet at some point, as I was updating my voting history - the total points I received was 58 and not 64 according to my adding up (I've probably added up wrong) - but if you could upload it I'll be able to see where I've made my mistake.

No, my mistake! I've checked over and it would seem I put 6 in to ChrIseland on the spreadsheet when it was a 6 to Farahtyn (not a 5) and a 5 to Dalisska (who were down as receiving nothing on the scoreboard).
The results are hence exactly the same except for the following order:
18 Farahtyn 66 (16 voters, one 12)
19 Kopečka 66 (16 voters, no 12s)
20 Dalisska 64
21 Ramrynia 58
Hope that clarifies it
I'll post the full semi results and the new final table (with the above correction) on Thursday hopefully, I'm in London tomorrow.

The overall result is quite good, I gave points to 7 songs in the top 10.
I won't comment on my own result.
I like Patrick Wolf quite a lot, especially Damaris and Hard Times.

I love songs like this. You even got my 12 in the semi.
You're welcome. One of the best pop songs of the year, IMO. And i'll always have a soft spot for Aura as she gave me my best result yet in BJSC with I Will Love You Monday.

I like it! The singer's voice is a tad annoying (in an almost Vickers way!) but overall it is pretty much my thing.

It does seem to be a recurring trend now!
8th place isn't a surprise given where I finished in the final, some of the other results there are a surprise though - especially Palmyra winning SF2!

Palmyra winning the semi was the one I was making particular reference to when I said some of the semi predictions were shockingly off, given it was almost 50:50 on whether they'd make it through!

OMG, This is possibly the only time in recent memory where my semi placing actually vaguely reflects my position in the final. (I swear I came around 3rd in the semi of XXXV and dropped down to 21st in the final )
